00:00One of the most anticipated shooters of 2025 was originally so bad and boring that even the
00:05developers hated playing it. This is the story of Ark Raiders and how the team behind it not
00:10only found a solution to rescue the title, but might casually save the entire overcrowded
00:15extraction genre. When Ark Raiders was first revealed nearly four years ago, its first look
00:21was incredible, with a cinematic trailer, massive robots, and an epic sci-fi world.
00:26But there was one big problem which was not apparent from the first trailer at all. The
00:31game itself was not fun. Developers at Embark Studios admitted that during playtests, the fun
00:36moments only happened once every 50 fights, so you spend years on a project just to realize you don't
00:42even enjoy playing it. Just six months before launch, they made a bold choice and scrapped the
00:48original PvE concept to redesign the entire game as an extraction shooter. This was a massive U-turn,
00:54especially for a team that left EA because they were tired of PvP games. But the risk paid off.
01:00After three years of redevelopment and multiple delays, Ark Raiders is now one of Steam's most
01:06wish-listed games and one of my most anticipated games of the year. You and your squad will rise
01:11from an underground city into a hostile wasteland, scavenging supplies, taking down colossal mechs,
01:16and clashing with other players in a fight to survive. Are you ready to join the fight this October?
01:21And a big deal how interesting that people asked when they start you?
01:23Wait, look, let's stand.
01:25Take a quick break.
01:27Let's see if I can get on the fight from the ship.
01:29I can get on the ship before the ship.
