00:00Regular protests by often the same group of people, often in the same place.
00:04So I want to make explicit in the law that those types of protests with cumulative disruption for communities
00:10can attract the same conditions and restrictions that apply to other types of protests
00:15so that the police have absolute clarity that they can use cumulative disruption as a reason for restricting those protests.
00:22It's important, I think, that we make this change so that the right balance can be struck
00:27between allowing people the freedom to protest, which is an ancient freedom in this country,
00:32but balancing that against the rights of the wider community to be able to go about their business free from intimidation and fear.
