00:03I'm adopting her.

00:04As you can see, I'm overjoyed about it.

00:11Yeah, Betty's a star.

00:12We knew it.

00:14Will is a real loner.

00:15You know, he's someone that doesn't sort of

00:17work with people very well.

00:18My neighbor died three days ago.

00:19This dog was tied up in the backyard.

00:21I'm just dropping her off.

00:22Just dropping her?

00:23Like a sack of old clothes.

00:25You folks work with animals

00:26because you don't get along with people.

00:27But I think he's got a real big heart,

00:28and I think the beauty of the pilot is we really

00:30found a way to introduce that early on

00:32when he adopts this dog, Betty.

00:34That's right.

00:35I have a dog.

00:36Despite the fact that he doesn't want a dog

00:38and wants nothing to do with his dog,

00:40he ends up taking it in.

00:41Betty, go.

00:44Betty, go away.

00:46He's doing something to this dog that maybe

00:48he feels someone didn't get to do for him.

00:50And I think that's a kind of constant for him

00:52throughout the process and the series is

00:54he's trying to help people.
