Fetus Inside A Baby Boy: Infant Born With Rare Medical Condition In Karnataka

The boy, born to a woman from Kundgol at the Karnataka Medical College and Research Institute was found carrying a fetus inside his abdomen.

00:38there was ultrasound was done and detected assist in that baby. Suspected something but

00:46it was not sure what is that. After the delivery the MRI was done to confirm what is there inside

00:53the baby. That revealed spinal parts of another fetus. That's why it is called fetus in fetus

01:05syndrome. It is very rare even in throughout world there are around 200 cases reported.

01:16In Karnataka I haven't heard any single case like this. So in India also it is very rare.

01:25Now everything is all plans are there to do the operation for the baby. MRI has been done.

01:35next plan is to do CT and you have to detect vascularity of the structure. After that laparoscopic

01:45through laparoscopic procedure the parts will be taken out. And I hope baby will not be affected

01:55in any way in the future. Slight operative risk will be there. For that parents have been counselled

02:05and they have given their consent grave risk consent. They have given as soon as the final investigations
