00:04on May 18, 2025. According to the police, the mother-in-law Jai Shri pushed the victim Dr.
00:10Renuka Santoshwana Kande off a moving tow wheeler then attacked her with a stone. The father-in-law
00:14Kamanna later strangled her. According to police sources, the duo then tied her body to the bike
00:19and dragged it for over 100 meter to make it seem like an accident caused by her saree getting
00:23entangled in the bike wheel. Speculations indicate that the incident happened during
00:27Renuka's return from a temple. Belagawi SP Bhima Shankar said that only the daughter-in-law
00:31had sustained injuries while the others were unharmed. This discrepancy raised suspicions
00:35and prompted the police to initiate a more thorough investigation. According to the police,
00:40Jai Shri and Kamanna confessed to the murder during the investigation and revealed that their son
00:44Santoshwana Kande had instigated them to kill Renuka. Santoshwana and Renuka got married in 2020.
00:49Investigators also found that Santoshwana had married another woman while still being legally
00:53married to Renuka. His second wife is now reportedly pregnant. Police say this could have been the
00:58final trigger for the murder.
