00:00Did you get that heavy look at it?
00:02Yeah.
00:03Everything.
00:04Yeah, believe me, we looked at everything and what's in our size,
00:10what are the things that we can predict better, tweak and improve,
00:16and there is a lot of randomness in an injury that we don't know.
00:20Sometimes I've been with a player that I wanted to put a finger into something
00:23that it was very clear, and then I realised three months later
00:27that he had a problem with his wife, or he didn't sleep with his kid for three days,
00:31and then he got injured.
00:32And I said, I've been scratching my head for one month trying to do that,
00:35and then I found out that this was the real reason.
00:38It's a lot of factors we're trying to control, dominate and be aware of,
00:43what we can predict, but then, unfortunately, this is sport, football and life,
00:48and it's not that easy.
00:49With him, is there anything that's aligned with?
00:52Well, there was a few things,
00:55as well with a very specific action,
00:57we have three very similar actions with three injuries,
00:59two groins and one hamstring,
01:01which is, there is a push when people are trying to accelerate.
01:04So, to replicate that in training,
01:06especially when you play every three days, is very, very difficult,
01:09but there is a programme to try to reproduce things like that,
01:14even if they are not at the highest level, like in football matches.
01:19You mentioned off the field sort of stuff.
01:20I remember, I think it was Giggs who got someone to change the car seats,
01:24because they were affecting the hamstring club,
01:27some years ago.
01:28You know, that's something crazy,
01:30but have you looked at that sort of thing as well?
01:32I can look at that, but for example, Gaby Magallás gets injured,
01:35and a lot of people will say, okay, he comes from Brazil and does that,
01:39but Gaby had to change 50 metres backwards against Adama Traore.
01:44Gaby Magallás, for example, when he got injured in his hamstring,
01:47he had to track 50 metres backwards,
01:49and the one he was chasing was Adama Traore.
01:51If instead of Adama Traore, that was Emil, with all respect,
01:55probably he doesn't pull his hamstring,
01:57because the last time he went to 33-34 kilometres an hour was six weeks ago,
02:02so he didn't have any exposure there.
02:04Can I train that there? I think I can't.
02:07But the game can take you to these circumstances,
02:10and maybe before that you had to do two very explosive actions,
02:13or maybe none, and that's the moment where the muscle and tendon react or not.
02:19I was talking about, you said you can't replicate it.
02:22Is there a way?
02:23Can you try and push them harder to try and replicate that in the game,
02:28like the compounding start to pull power?
02:32Yeah.
02:33The thing is that you have to replicate all the previous actions.
02:36You have to replicate the emotion, the stress level, your cortisol level,
02:39your mental state, the result, impossible.
02:44You can't replicate the specific action,
02:45but that doesn't mean that you are replicating the context.
02:48Yeah?
02:49I can replicate to go and say,
02:51I predict that these shares are going to go up 3%.
02:54That's great.
02:55But would you put the money in real,
02:57or would you go online and do it?
02:58It's very different.
02:59And it's his 200 appearance,
03:04he's only 133 away from breaking the all-time last
03:09and privilege record, which is from very far.
03:11I mean, pretty close to that.
03:14133.
03:15It's a lot, but I mean, the numbers that Bukayo has at his age
03:26are already astronomical, so that's great.
03:30But do you think it's because he's only 24 and players now are so young,
03:34but the players that play 600, 700, 800 in the games of their careers,
03:38it's going to become the norm?
03:39Yeah, I think so.
03:40Yeah.
03:41If they can sustain that level and still they are so professional,
03:44like Bees, and so reliable, they will reach those figures for sure.
03:48Finally, to John.
03:49Hi, Michael.
03:50Hi.
03:51Thomas Tuchel has left Jim Bellingham out as England's squad
03:55because he said he's just going back from injury.
03:58He's brought Bukayo back and he hasn't finished the game yet.
04:02Are you concerned that maybe he should have been left out as well?
04:06Do you think he's come up from injury?
04:08No, because Bukayo played, he played 45 against City,
04:12they played Port Vale 60, 70 under the night he plays.
04:17He's played four games now and he's a really good place
04:20and I guess he's available for the national team.
04:22You could also say that with Miles and with Scully,
04:27that he doesn't play, then that's going to be left out of the squad.
04:34Is that obviously you've got your...
04:36That's pressure for me.
04:37Yeah.
04:38I'm just going to get up.
04:39Thanks, Thomas.
04:40Hopefully he plays a lot and he plays at the level that he's been playing with us
04:46and he can enjoy the national team and the World Cup.
04:49Is that something you ever think about?
04:51For sure, because I want the best for my players
04:55and having the chance to play in a World Cup is something
04:58that I don't want to take out from anybody, for sure.
05:01Yeah.
05:02Thank you very much.
05:04See you tomorrow.
05:06See you.
05:07Good evening.
