00:00Speaking of great coaches, we have Jose Mourinho returning to Portugal, this time to coach Benfica, where he started his career in the year 2000.
00:09He's back in Liga Portugal, not with Porto, though.
00:12So there is a little bit of that interesting rivalry because Porto, of course, is where he made a name for himself when the 2004 Champions League, which was such an iconic moment, not just for that club, but for that country.
00:21But he's going actually to Benfica, where he was before that.
00:25So thoughts on this transfer?
00:27There's a little bit of a debate right now.
00:28Is this actually the right move?
00:29Or is it just a little bit of nostalgia?
00:31So curious, your thoughts on Mourinho back in Portugal.
00:34It's interesting because for Mourinho, that's back where he started coaching, honestly, back in 2000.
00:39And there's a quote from him as well.
00:41He said, I'm honest, I always thought I'd be back to Portugal, but I always thought I'd come back to the national team.
00:48And he said that he thinks it's a natural consequence of his career.
00:51It happened to be Benfica, a giant club.
00:54And I don't say it's a giant club because I am in Benfica.
00:57You know what I mean?
00:58And so he was just trying to say that, you know, there's a lot of history with the club, even from the social perspective of it.
01:02Yeah.
01:03You know, he's a representative of Portuguese football and culture.
01:06So why not do it?
01:07Y'all thoughts?
01:09Is it symbolic?
01:10Is this the right move?
01:11Long-term, short-term effects for Benfica?
01:14He did just lose out in the Champions League with Fenerbahce and then got this job.
01:17He lost out in the Champions League with Fenerbahce, but he won the Conference League a few years ago with Roma.
01:2126 European trophies in general, obviously one of the most storied and accomplished managers ever.
01:29I'm curious to see how, you know, because Benfica, again, huge club, but their reign on the league has kind of loosened.
01:34Fresh off that loss too, the Carabag.
01:36Yep, fresh off that loss in the Champions League.
01:39They're now going to play Porto on October 5th, so a lot of storylines going into that game.
01:43But it's interesting to see how he'll oppose his kind of style of play and his, you know, charisma.
01:48But, yeah, he, if there's anyone who can bring Benfica back, it's him.
01:53But, you know, it can go either way.
01:54It's either going to be great or it's going to be bad.
01:56That's the kind of thing you get with Mourinho.
01:57A hundred percent, yeah.
01:58And just a lot more exciting for Liga Portugal.
