00:00Hello and welcome to this New South Wales Janesweather update for Friday.
00:04We have got a bit of cloud that is crossing the far southern parts here, otherwise skies are clear.
00:09That's associated with the cold outbreak that has moved across the southeast.
00:13We're feeling it on the wind today and into tomorrow.
00:16You can still get low level snow, even though it is October.
00:20We're seeing that down in Tasmania, but all of that is moving away.
00:24Let's have a look day by day what to expect.
00:25It's hardly any wet weather in through these parts here, maybe two to five millimetres is all that is left over.
00:31It's clear along the coast.
00:32So that's Friday.
00:33Have a look at Saturday.
00:34We've got high pressure that's now moved into here.
00:36So our winds are light.
00:37We had the cooler air come through and now it is moving away as the high moves out to the east.
00:43Heading into Sunday, the high is all the way out through here.
00:45We've got heat that is barreling down and here is the next cool change that is coming across.
00:50It'll be there by the end of Sunday, running in through just that southwestern corner.
00:55So there's Sunday and here's our next band of rain.
00:57Let's watch that one move through.
00:59So it breaks up as it reaches the southeast, a lovely feed of moisture coming in from the west.
01:03But by the time it reaches us here, it is pretty much running out of oomph.
01:06So there's Monday and there's a cool change by the end of the day.
01:10So we'll be seeing that moving through during our Monday public holiday.
01:14All right.
01:15Here is Tuesday.
01:16There's the remains of that band of rain.
01:18It's light and patchy.
01:19You could perhaps get a thunderstorm that is embedded in that and that would deliver a heavier fall.
01:24But otherwise, generally light and patchy activity.
01:27So that's Tuesday.
01:28Have a look at Wednesday.
01:29That's reintensifies as we move through here.
01:32The next surge coming in from the southwest there.
01:35That has another burst of cold air with it.
01:38And so that will be starting to travel up as it comes in here.
01:41It's kind of the fight.
01:42That is what spring is.
01:43The fight between all of this heat in through here and all of the cold air.
01:47And we're pretty much right in the middle of this particular dance here.
01:50So that's Wednesday.
01:51Let's head into Thursday.
01:52Trough running in through there.
01:53Showers and thunderstorms out ahead of it.
01:55Here's another light and patchy band of rain that may intensify as it reaches.
01:59Not the eastern side.
02:01It comes in from the west.
02:02So it's the rangers, the southern rangers that pick this up.
02:05And then into Friday, a little bit of that left over in the northeast corner.
02:09What could that add up to as we move through the next week in through here?
02:12Maybe 25 to 50 on that far southern alpine area.
02:15Well, that's 15 to 25 and it steadily decreases as you head away.
02:19Into the central rangers, we might see some heavier falls.
02:22Just if that band of rain does actually consolidate over that part there.
02:26And it lingers so that it can deliver a little bit more.
02:28Showers and thunderstorms up in through here.
02:30That could deliver heavy falls if you're directly underneath one.
02:33Otherwise, hit and miss activity.
02:35Okay, so Sydney, what can we expect?
02:37We've got a big weekend on the way.
02:39We're seeing temperatures dip down thanks to the current cold outbreak over the southeast.
02:42But they rapidly warm up again as we go through Sunday.
02:46Let's have a look at our temperatures.
02:4712 to start on Sunday.
02:4928 is the top.
02:50No wind concerns.
02:52Overnight into Monday morning if you're out partying.
02:5521 is the low there.
02:57So we've got nausory winds.
02:58It's going to remain warm all through the night.
03:0028, another warm day as we go through Monday.
03:03A late cold change.
03:04This is developing.
03:06Really, it's not until after 6 p.m.
03:09The day itself should be quite dry.
03:11So Sunday and Monday are looking fantastic after a bit of a cooler burst coming into Saturday there.
03:17Temperatures dipped out as we go into Tuesday as that band of rain moves through.
03:20On the eastern side of the ranges, we're not seeing much in through here.
03:23And then temperatures warm up again to finish off the week.
