Manchester residents after car attack: Absolutely terrified

Residents of the Judaism faith living near the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in the Crumpsall district in Manchester, England said they fear for their safety following a car and stabbing attack near the synagogue on Thursday (Oct 2) that killed at least two people. 00:26connected so i said and then she said they're heading down that way so i said i wonder if it's

00:32it sure that's my mum that's our local synagogue so she said i think you're right and today is

00:40yom kippur it's a very holy festival and i'm jewish and and absolutely terrified terrified and our

00:52neighbor across the road he goes to the synagogue and he was telling us what was going on it's just

00:58absolutely frightening because i'm scared for my own safety and my mum's safety because i just feel

01:05that the jewish we're not pulling together anymore but for somebody to know today's yom kippur i just

01:15feel this has been definitely planned you know and i just i don't feel safe i'm worried with my mum

01:21as well you know because if anyone's i've been stopped on the bus myself a long time ago asking

01:29if i was jewish and that was just a random question at this time of year when jewish people across the

01:35world are commemorating yom kippur it's incredibly worrying we've seen this awful attack on a synagogue

01:42in manchester i know as it is uh jewish people have been scared uh and feeling scared over the

01:50last few months indeed since october the uh 7th 2020 at three i also know many want to go to the

01:56synagogue and uh worship i want to reassure them uh that in london they will be seeing additional uh

02:02police officers people should be allowed uh to go about and practice their faith knowing they're going to

02:08be uh safe
