Tom Brady Admits ‘Mistakes’ in Broadcast Booth: ‘I Try Not to Take Myself Too Seriously’

00:00we are in you know a few weeks into this football season you are back in the broadcast booth which

00:04is so much fun to hear your commentary how do you feel like you've gotten more comfortable

00:09this second year in the broadcast booth well i absolutely i think more comfortable is the right

00:15word just understanding what's being asked of me and how i want to convey my message to the

00:19audience and then obviously having great teammates at fox and my partner kevin burkhart and our

00:25sideline reports two great ones erin andrews and tom rinaldi and then a great group of people who

00:32produce the games and our director and our producer all the people that work behind the scenes to make

00:36this football game come to life and i just i love being a part of it i love seeing these teams wage

00:42their individual battles on the field and try to do everything they can to help their team win and

00:47being on that field i know how challenging that is so i have a great amount of respect for everybody

00:51involved it's it's not an easy job it's very stressful for these players and coaches and they're doing

00:57everything they can to put out a good performance every week and i'm very fortunate i get to cover it

01:01yeah definitely i know that you've been in some very high pressure situations on the field do you feel that in the broadcast

01:08booth ever as well i would say you know different times last year there's definitely things that you've got to get used to

01:14um it's it's live television everything you say is is out there you know whether hiccup or you make a mistake with the name

01:21or a number or uh you know you had something else in your brain and it just got the wiring got crossed

01:27it happens so you just got to go with the flow and i try not to take myself to myself too seriously in

01:33any part of life and certainly when i'm up there i know i'm going to make plenty of mistakes but

01:37i just want to enjoy the game and i want the fans who are watching to really enjoy it too and uh because

01:43i love the game i want other people to love it as much as i do so what insight can i provide them to

01:48help educate them a little bit and then you know bring them a little a little bit closer to their tv when

01:53they watch definitely i know that we are going to see you back on the field but during the flag football

01:59um which i'm really excited about you have this great um flag football classic coming out next march if

02:04you're picking your dream team who's who's on it good question so i have commissioners uh appointed to this

02:10game i can't really pick i'm a player so they're going to pick the games um i'm not going to tell you

02:15maybe there are those haven't been announced yet but um as it gets sorted out i get to be a player i get

02:20to be selected and then you know go out there and do my best i love that so much are you are you um

02:26training hard for this so is it like full on football training mode now no i don't want to look

02:30like some old out of shape person who can't perform a job so i you better believe that i'll be prepared

02:36you know i'll look like i can still play so that's been important to me i don't want to go out there and look like

02:42i'm you know some washed up has-been i still got to look like the guy who's won seven super bowl
