00:00This video was recently captured on a CCTV camera in Thailand, and this is the moment an ordinary day nearly ended in tragedy.
00:08A mother and son were cleaning their bakery in Bangkok, when suddenly out of nowhere a car careens to the window, narrowly missing the pair.
00:16Luckily, just as the car crashes through the glass, the boy moves out of the way.
00:20Had he not, he would have undoubtedly been pinned between the support structure and the vehicle.
00:24The audio on the recording reveals the mother bursting into tears moments later, reacting to the close call she and her son just had.
00:31Thailand has some of the poorest road safety standards in the world, namely due to underinvestment in road safety education.
00:37Currently, road fatalities sit at 32.7 per 100,000.
00:41For comparison, in the U.S., that number is 12.8 per 100,000.
00:46Luckily, no one was injured as a result of this wild collision.
