Oktoberfest to reopen after bomb threat linked to explosion at house in Munich

German police had closed the Oktoberfest fairgrounds on Wednesday morning due to a bomb threat linked to a fire at a house in northern Munich.

00:01Police in Munich closed the Oktoberfest beer festival in the city on Wednesday morning due to a bomb threat.
00:08Police say the threat was connected to an earlier explosion at a residential building north of Munich, which killed at least one person.
00:16Investigators say they've recovered explosive devices at the site of the attack.
00:21They also say they have reason to suspect the perpetrator was plotting various other attacks, including on the world-renowned festival.
00:28Employees in attendance were asked to swiftly leave the premises and were escorted to a designated area for their safety.
00:37The festival venue is approximately nine kilometers away from the targeted property.
