00:00In Bitcoin mining, you often hear the word ASIC.
00:02But what does it mean?
00:04ASIC stands for Application Specific Integrated Circuit.
00:07Unlike a CPU or GPU, which can handle many tasks, and ASIC is built for one job only.
00:12In Bitcoin, their job is to calculate SH-AMNUS 256 hashes as fast and efficiently as possible.
00:19This makes ASIC the backbone of Bitcoin mining.
00:21CPUs mined Bitcoin in the early days.
00:24GPUs took over when difficulty rose.
00:26But today, only ASIC are powerful enough to compete.
00:28They're highly specialized, extremely energy efficient, and the only real option for mining Bitcoin at scale.
00:34So, when you hear ASIC, think of it as the engine powering Bitcoin's proof of work, keeping the network secure and decentralized.
