00:03This was the sticking point that Democrats refused to budge on

00:07and that Republicans said must be handled separately to a funding bill.

00:12Now, of course, this goes back to the big, beautiful bill

00:15and way before where we are right now

00:18and around a trillion dollars worth of cuts

00:20that the federal government is trying to make,

00:23while the Democrats are worried that it's going to affect

00:25millions of people in terms of their health care premiums

00:29and that they'll be increasing and millions more

00:31will lose their health care altogether.

00:33Now, the Republicans, for their part,

00:35say that the Democrats are trying to fund health care for illegal aliens

00:40and the Democrats have pushed back on that,

00:42saying that is not at all true.

00:44But that narrative certainly is sticking

00:46if you take a quick glance online.

00:49Twitter, which, of course, is owned by Elon Musk

00:52and has now started promoting a lot of more far-right conspiracy theories

00:56since he took over that platform,

00:58is now awash with a lot of people saying,

01:01blaming the Democrats for this shutdown.

01:04And the White House themselves are blaming the Democrats for this.

01:07On their website, they have a countdown,

01:08or rather count-up time,

01:10as to how long this shutdown has lasted

01:12and they are making no bones about who is to blame.

01:15Well, the Democrats, of course, for their part,

01:17are blaming the Republicans for refusing to compromise

01:20and talk about this health care situation.

01:22And Chuck Schumer and others have taken to Instagram,

01:26to Twitter, to voice their opinions on this.

01:30So the blame game well and truly underway here.

01:33The one thing that isn't underway at the moment

01:35is, of course, the federal government.
