00:00World champions. England women defeated Canada women in the final of the Women's Rugby World Cup at Twickenham
00:07with head coach John Mitchell and captain Zoe Allcroft reacting.
00:10Honestly, it is unbelievable. It's literally what dreams are made of.
00:15Like, we have had so much belief in this group. We've built something so special over the last three years.
00:21And today it was just about sticking to our process and just believing in ourselves.
00:25Like, everyone just had to do their own job.
00:27And I think that is what everyone did today. And I'm just so proud of every single one of those girls.
00:34Honestly, it was such an amazing, amazing occasion as well, playing in front of 82,000 people.
00:40That was next level. And I think it was a chance to redefine women's rugby like we've been on this journey about for the girls.
00:47And it wasn't just about the girls in that circle, but the girls that we also inspire and the girls who have come before us.
00:53And also for everyone who supports us and wants to be part of us as the Red Roses.
00:58And so it was just amazing. A dream country.
01:02We saw you speaking to the group at the end. Are you able to share with us what your message was to the team?
01:06Just pretty simple. Just that we're so proud of everyone, kind of reflected on the work that we've done over the last three years.
01:13And to know that they are such a special bunch.
01:16Like, we've made some incredible memories over these last three years.
01:19And we've had so much fun while we've been doing it.
01:21And to go out today to put the cherry on top of it was just absolutely incredible.
01:26And I would not have changed a single moment of these last three years.
01:31John, tell us, what does this mean to you?
01:33I think these girls are awesome.
01:37But I guess, you know, like three years ago, we said about doing something, as Zoe said,
01:42and it's really quite cool how it just unravels and we finally take the last few steps today.
01:49And we've been visually probably feeling this and imagining this for some time.
01:58We've been very true in our environment about how we've been sort of like climbing a mountain.
02:04And I think the 22 taught us a lot. It's made us ready for now.
02:13And we just always knew that a home tournament was going to need a huge connection.
02:20And as a result of connection, we were going to capture our nation along with that.
02:28And I think unless you're connected on the inside, how can you portray that on the outside?
02:34We always knew that we were going to be good at the rugby.
02:38But ultimately, at the end of the day, I think our culture won.
02:41All 32 players, all the staff, all bought into how we want to, what we value.
02:49And those values have guided us to this point.
02:53I got out of the girls' way this week.
02:58They just needed to finish what we started.
03:01A celebration event at Battersea Power Station in London the following day
03:06allowed crowds to come and see the triumphant Red Roses holding aloft the World Cup trophy.
03:14We're all built in a love合格.
03:15We're all built in a love合格.
03:17We'll never see how far we've gone.
03:22We keep looking at the dawn for this world.
03:26Higher, higher, higher.
03:30We're getting low.
03:32Higher, higher, higher.
03:34We're getting low.
03:39Higher, higher, higher.
03:43The celebrations in London just kept on going.
03:46This is the third time that the Red Roses have won the Women's Rugby World Cup
03:50following triumphs in 1994 and 2014,
03:54but it is the first time that they've won it on home soil,
03:58with their triumphant 94 coming in Scotland before 2014's win coming in France.
04:04Let's hear now from players Sarah Byrne and Ellie Kildun,
04:09who reacted on the historic win for their side.
04:13It's so surreal, like, I don't know, I don't even know how to describe it,
04:18I don't think we knew what we were expecting, so it was amazing,
04:21and just to see everyone come out here for a second day in a row is just fantastic.
04:24The memories that we've made, the successes that we've had,
04:28and the journey that we've been on is something that people will write books about,
04:31it might be a book that I write at some point as well.
04:35Keep on getting better, keep on winning trophies,
04:38and keep on getting crowds down and show the world
04:41that women's rugby is here to stay, and it's not going to slow down.
04:44We'll see you.
