Demetrius Knight Jr. on Bengals' Loss to Broncos
Transcript
00:00It's a game of momentum. When you have it, you have it. And when you don't, you don't.
00:04It's kind of hard to generate it, but we've got to find different ways to generate it.
00:07Offense, we've got to find ways to generate on offense.
00:09And defense, we've got to complement it. We've got to give it right back to them.
00:12So we are in the process of ironing out the kinks.
00:16Still early. We're not defeated yet.
00:19We're just going back to the drawing board, just as a lot of teams are doing across the league right now.
00:23So everybody's still finding their identity.
00:25We know what the identity is.
00:27Because we're just, you know, in a metaphor, we're still on the climb.
00:31Still on that journey to get there, to put down the roots of what we want to be, who we're trying to be.
00:36So people are itching to get back to where I know I am.
00:39You were in for almost every snap. Barrett played a bunch.
00:42Do you feel like you two guys grow with every NFL game you play?
00:45Absolutely. That's all this is, is learning to be consistent.
00:49Learning to trust your brother to your left and to your right.
00:52Knowing that you can get the play call, echo the play call, and go out there and do your best.
00:56Do your 111 to make sure that we can get off the field.
00:59And that's what we're going to continue to do as a defense.
01:02And we're going to continue as an offense to grow and put points at when the time is called.
01:06How challenging are the Broncos to defend?
01:08Very good screen game, good offensive line, punishing runners.
01:12Talk about that challenge.
01:14Yeah, we step up for every challenge.
01:16You've got to step up to every challenge in the NFL.
01:17Well, all teams are, they have their favorite plays and they have their momentum plays and their big momentum shifts.
01:25And teams find what their bread and butter is.
01:27For them, that's their bread and butter.
01:29And every week, you've got to have a plan for it.
01:30We always have a plan.
01:32We have an answer for everything.
01:33We just have to know when to put the right answers into play, if you will.
01:39And not overload our minds and just make it simple so that everybody can play fast.
01:43Was the touchdown with eight seconds left in the half a big blow?
01:47Because it was 14-3 at that point.
01:49Definitely a big blow.
01:52But you've got to kind of go back to your little league quarterback days or just little league days in general
01:59where, you know, you hear a lot of coaches and even my dad would say, you know, have short-term memory.
02:05You know, when you come back out, you get a next opportunity.
02:08There are no failures.
02:09There are just opportunities, just missed opportunities.
02:12So there are no failures on the field.
02:14We don't consider it a failure.
02:15We see it as a missed opportunity.
02:17So, and then, you know, going into the next half, what an opportunity you get to come out of the gate and get through and out.
02:24So that's what you want to stand on.
02:26So it's about learning from missed opportunities, never learning from failures because we don't have failures
02:31because we get to play the game that we love.
