00:00If you're a billionaire in the United States, you're very well aware of the wealth gap.
00:04They are all aware of the difference between them and the working class.
00:07And so you really have two options.
00:10You can either give up some of your wealth by being taxed fairly proportionately to the
00:15amount of wealth you have, or you can give up owning some of your wealth, right?
00:21Or your other option is to throw your wealth behind creating laws and a government that
00:28will protect your wealth with its dying breath.
00:31And that's what the billionaires have chosen to do.
00:34They are trying to create a government that prioritizes them and protects their wealth
00:40at all costs.
00:42And it all comes back to the myth that the U.S. was founded on, that government is suspect,
00:48and that the individual is the person that creates value, and that if you create value,
00:54you do not owe anyone anything else.
00:57If you ask Jeff Bezos if he's self-made, I'm sure he would say yes, despite the fact that
01:03his parents lent him, in 2025 dollars, $500,000 to start his business.
01:09And despite the fact that his prime trucks are using roads that the government built and
01:15maintains, right?
01:16Or that his workers, that he doesn't pay enough, are living off of SNAP, a government food program
01:23that was just gutted, unfortunately.
01:24So he doesn't view himself as a leech.
