00:00All right, pizza review time. We're in Des Moines, Iowa, the home of Caitlin Clark, obviously.
00:26She gave me a bunch of places to try. Fong's was on this list. We're at Fong's. First things first.
00:32First thing I see when I walk in is a Trent. And I've said this about Iowa. They're just, everybody looks like Trent.
00:40It's the craziest thing. Like, people think I'm just joking. Everywhere you go, there's just a million Trents.
00:47I've never seen anything like it. So Fong's, we pull up, and I mean, the logo, I'm like, this looks like a Chinese food restaurant.
00:54But it does say pizza, and then I ordered cheese. She's like, you're going to get the crab rangoon pizza.
01:00That's what everyone comes for. Crab rangoon pizza? Yeah, all right, fine, do it. I'm going to do the cheese.
01:07Now, she openly said, don't get the cheese. She's like, they come for the crab rangoon, you're going to do it.
01:11And then the menu, it's like a Chinese food restaurant with pizza. Spicy edamame, Chinese cheese sticks, dragon wings, egg rolls, mu shaobao, Thai sticks, crab rangoons.
01:24So, yes, they have pizza, but it's definitely like a pizza Chinese food.
01:30Like, Asian-inspired pizzas, crab rangoon, general chow, chow, chicken, Korean beef, orange chicken, Mongolian beef, Hungarian beef, Thai chicken.
01:38So, it's a weird combo, let's just call it that. I've never encountered one in all my years of eating pizza doing this, which is, I don't know, 20 years almost now.
01:48I've never found Iowa like they have. The breakfast pizza, Casey's, and now we're finding Fong's, good undercarriage.
01:54The top of the pizza is not what I like to see. But, when in Iowa, I'm echoing.
02:00And I will do the crab rangoon pizza.
02:02Okay.
02:15Listen, I'm not coming here expecting to set the world on fire with pizza.
02:18It's Iowa, it's beef, it's corn, it's Trent's.
02:24This is kind of like hockey rink pizza a little bit. It's not awful.
02:27It actually looks worse than I think it actually tastes.
02:28I'm going to give it a 6-5.
02:32And maybe, again, like Trent, I don't like Casey's pizza.
02:35I got in a fight with Casey's.
02:37His dad almost knocked me out when I said it was too bacon-y.
02:40So, maybe this is what Iowa people like.
02:41Now, we will wait for the first ever crab rangoon pizza review.
02:47And the girl in there is like, you don't come here for the cheese.
02:50Just nobody comes here for the cheese.
02:54It's actually not that bad.
02:56No, I'll just eat it straight, yeah.
02:57Do you want to bite it?
02:58Yep, exactly.
03:00I've never, whoa.
03:01Yeah, it's a whole thing.
03:03This is crazy looking.
03:05I don't know what I was expecting it to look like.
03:07Yeah.
03:07I was expecting full-blown crabber and goons like on it.
03:10No, you got...
03:11It's cream cheese?
03:12Cream cheese like is the base goon sauce, what they call it.
03:15Yep.
03:15And then you got crab and green onions and then wontons that we make every day.
03:20And then sweet chili on top.
03:22Wow.
03:23Yeah, I think you could argue this is the least healthy pizza in the history of pizzas.
03:26Yeah.
03:27That is a crazy pizza.
03:29All right.
03:30The first of its kind.
03:32Does anyone else make this pizza?
03:33Have you ever heard of anybody else making it?
03:35There is.
03:35In the area, people try.
03:37They try to replicate it.
03:37Okay, but you originally.
03:38Yeah, correct, yeah.
03:39Okay.
03:39Yeah.
03:40One and only.
03:40I do like crabber and goons to a degree.
03:44I've never had it this way.
03:46One bite of everyone else's rice.
03:47I got to let cool off.
03:48It's very hot.
03:49Yeah, I was going to say it's really hot.
03:50Yeah.
03:50What percentage of people are ordering these?
03:52Oh, everybody who stops in here.
03:54So this is just what everyone's doing?
03:55Yeah.
03:55Yeah.
03:56This is like our claim to fame for sure.
03:58All right, here we go.
03:59The first ever, my first ever, and of course I'm a cheese guy, but Gwen and Rome, or in this
04:04case Des Moines, have the crabber and green pizza.
04:08I'm not just saying it.
04:25I'm sorry, what's your name?
04:26Shelby.
04:27Shelby's here.
04:30Sometimes I hate like artisan or gimmicky or whatever you want to call this pizza.
04:35It's a loud train.
04:39I don't hate this, and it does very much taste like a crabber and goon.
04:44I'd have to split this with like 10 people.
04:47Oh, yeah.
04:47Yeah.
04:48Yeah.
04:48I mean, I've seen people do it in one.
04:49That's disgusting.
04:51If you eat this whole thing, they'll be eating like 50 crabber and goons, which is like you
04:56can have one to two or three.
04:58Does this just go on all day?
04:59Why don't I just do this?
05:02It's got to be the longest train ever going by.
05:05So in a gimmicky, I get what she's saying because I actually like this more than the
05:09cheese.
05:09Oh, yeah.
05:09For sure.
05:10So we're on the same boat here.
05:12Yeah, I know.
05:13You can't have more than, like if I eat this, that would be more, if I had Chinese food and
05:18got a side order, crabber and goon, I feel like I'd have more just with this, but it's
05:23good.
05:26Crunchy.
05:28It's actually like crunchier than the cheese was.
05:33I'll go with a total gimmick pizza that can't be scored versus cheese because this isn't even,
05:39I don't even know what this is.
05:41Like a seven, six.
05:44Like it's an appetizer.
05:45It's a Chinese food appetizer.
05:47And I'd actually rather this than a straight Rangoon.
05:51So it gets the job done.
05:53It's just the same.
05:53We ain't eating pizza here.
05:54We went out for Chinese food.
05:56So thank you, Shelby.
05:57Thank you for making me try it too because I would have walked out of here without it.
06:00I know.
06:01Exactly.
06:01It's not the same.
06:02No, totally different.
06:04Totally different.
06:05Totally different country.
06:07What a wild pizza.
06:09But it is, like I like this a lot more than some of the things people have made me try on
06:13pizza.
06:14It's just not pizza.
06:17A wild, what a wild start in Des Moines.
