00:04For Game of Thrones fans, one moment stands out above all others.

00:08The trial by combat between Oberyn, Martell, and Gregor Clegane.

00:13We all remember the horror, the shock, the sheer disbelief.

00:17But what if it didn't end that way?

00:20What if Oberyn, the Red Viper of Dorne, hadn't gotten carried away by his thirst for a confession?

00:26What if he had just... won?

00:29Today, we're rewriting history.

00:31Picture the scene.

00:33The mountain lies dead on the stones of the arena.

00:36Oberyn Martell stands victorious, his spear dripping with the blood of his sister's murderer.

00:43King's Landing is frozen in stunned silence.

00:46In that single moment, the entire Game of Thrones is flipped on its head.

00:51Let's start with the immediate aftermath.

00:54Tyrion Lannister is a free man, his innocence proven.

00:58He walks out of that arena not as a condemned kinslayer, but as the man who is unjustly accused.

01:05Tywin Lannister, the Great Patriarch, has been publicly humiliated.

01:10His champion, his monstrous enforcer, has been defeated.

01:13His authority, which relies so heavily on the perception of Lannister invincibility, has a massive crack in it.

01:23Not only is her hated brother free, but the man who represents everything she despises, just won a monumental victory right in her face.

01:31Her control over the capital, over her own fate, feels weaker than ever.

01:37Meanwhile, Varys and Littlefinger are practically rubbing their hands together.

01:42Chaos isn't a pit.

01:44It's a ladder.

01:45And Oberyn just kicked over the whole darn structure.

01:49Varys might see Oberyn as a potential, albeit unpredictable, ally in his long game for a Targaryen restoration.

01:55Littlefinger, he thrives on destabilization.

02:00A weakened Lannister regime is a playground for him.

02:03He'd immediately start spinning new webs.

02:06Perhaps trying to play the Martells and the Tyrals against each other.

02:10Or even offering his services to a vengeful Dorne.

02:13And what about public perception?

02:16The story of the noble, flamboyant prince from Dorne who came to the capital seeking justice and got it.

02:23That's a legend in the making.

02:25The Martells are no longer just a distant, resentful power.

02:30They're giant slayers.

02:31Their reputation soars and Dorne's influence along with it.

02:36This ripple effect would completely derail the paths of some of our favorite characters.

02:41Take Jaime Lannister.

02:42He's already on a complex journey of redemption.

02:46Seeing his father as power so openly challenged and his sister's desperation might accelerate his disillusionment with his family.

02:53With Tyrion free, their bond remains unbroken.

02:58Would Jaime still feel compelled to break Tyrion out of prison later?

03:02No, because he wouldn't need to.

03:05This could change everything about Jaime's relationship with Cersei and his ultimate loyalty.

03:10And Sansa Stark, still a captive in King's Landing.

03:16With Littlefinger's plans thrown into chaos, her escape might happen differently, or perhaps sooner.

03:23Oberyn, having achieved his justice, might take a special interest in the plight of another victim of Lannister cruelty.

03:29Could he have become an unlikely protector for Sansa?

03:34Offering her a path to safety in Dorne, far from the clutches of Cersei and Littlefinger?

03:39It's a tantalizing possibility.

03:42A politically empowered Martell could offer her a sanctuary that Tyrell's only hinted at.

03:48Now, let's zoom out across the narrow sea to Daenerys Targaryen.

03:51She's still in Myrion, wrestling with dragons and politics.

03:57A Westeros, where the Lannisters are weakened and a powerful.

04:01Anti-Lannister Dorne is on the rise, is a very different landscape for her invasion.

04:06The Martells were historically Targaryen loyalists.

04:10With Oberyn alive, a Dornish alliance isn't just a possibility.

04:14It's a probability.

04:15Imagine Daenerys' forces landing not on Dragonstone alone, but with the full backing of Dorne's armies from day one.

04:24That's a game-changer.

04:26The war for the Iron Throne would be faster, bloodier, and its outcome far less certain.

04:32Back in Westeros, Dorne is ascendant.

04:35Oberyn isn't just a folk hero.

05:40The Faith Militant, when they rise, would face a Cersei without her undead bodyguard.

05:46How differently would her Walk of Atonement have gone without the promise of a seven-foot-tall monster waiting to carry her away?

05:53The Lannister legacy, built on fear and brutality, loses its most potent symbol.

06:00Their grip on power, already slipping, begins to crumble.

06:04For Elia Martell, it means true justice.

06:07The realm would see that a Lannister dog was put down for his crimes.

06:11A powerful message that no one is above retribution.

06:14So, let's look at the grand finale.

06:18The war against the White Walkers.

06:20This is where things get really interesting.

06:23The political chaos in the south would be a massive distraction.

06:28While the lords and ladies play their game of thrones, the Night King marches south.

06:33But a unified Dorne and a potentially allied Targaryen force might deal with the Lannisters much quicker.

06:40Freeing up armies and resources to face the true threat.

06:43Would a living, breathing Oberyn Martell, a man who stared down the most feared warrior in Westeros,

06:50be willing to ride north and fight the army of the dead?

06:54You bet he would.

06:56His presence could inspire others and change the entire dynamic of the Great War.

07:01Ultimately, who wins this new game of thrones?

07:04With a weakened Lannister house, a powerful Dorne, and a potentially smoother invasion for Daenerys,

07:11the entire board is reset.

07:14Does Daenerys take the throne with Tyrion and a living Oberyn as her advisors?

07:19Does the power struggle in the south leave them too weak to fight the Night King, leading to a victory for the dead?

07:25Or does some other player, like Jon Snow, emerge from the chaos in a completely different way?

07:33The beauty of What If? is that there are no wrong answers.

07:36Oberyn's victory opens up a thousand different timelines, a thousand different endings.
