Spoilers ahead for Happy Gilmore 2.

Adam Sandler has a number of beloved movies on his long resume, including Happy Gilmore. The 1996 sports comedy (which is streaming with a Netflix subscription) is arguably one of Sandler's best rom-coms, thanks to the title character's love story with Julie Bowen's Virginia Venit. She reprised that role for Happy Gilmore 2, and recently spoke to CinemaBlend about her reaction to the OG movie's lingerie scene... and how it factored into the sequel.

What we knew about Happy Gilmore 2 has been limited ahead its release on Netflix, with Sandman and the gang trying to guard the long-awaited sequel's secrets. That includes the way Virginia is used, a huge twist comes her way early on in the Adam Sandler movie. As you can see in the video above, I had the privilege of speaking with the cast ahead of the sequel's release, where I asked Bowen about that iconic lingerie scene from the original.

00:00At one point we see O.G. Virginia pop it in the happy place, that like iconic shot of the sprinkler going.
00:08Like what was your reaction to knowing this was going to return?
00:12The first, when I read it in that first script, is what made me love the first script.
00:17It was like, you don't know how great all those performances are going to be.
00:20You don't know that they're actually going to get, you know, Carl Weathers, all these things.
00:24You're just reading going, I think it's funny, but I'm not sure.
00:28And I got to that scene and I laughed out loud 30 years ago at two pitchers of beer.
00:33And I thought, I want this.
00:36So I've always seen that as like hilarious and funny and a send up of like sexy pinups.
00:43I never felt objectified by that at all.
00:45So when it's coming back, I was like, oh damn, I don't know if I can still put it on.
00:51That was the only thing I was afraid of.
00:53I have no problem with any of that.
00:56I always felt like completely respected and in control of all of it.
01:01Oh, it's the best.
01:01And it's such an iconic moment.
01:02Your character is so, she's so done up.
01:06And then to see that juxtaposition is all right.
01:08Right.
01:08Right.
01:08Right.
01:08Yeah.
01:09Yeah.
