00:00Mayor Benjamin Magalong has urged the City Council to initiate a third-party investigation on the 110 million peso Baguio Tennis Court to clear unanswered questions surrounding the project.
00:18He said in an interview that involving an independent body would help ensure that the investigation remains objective and credible.
00:28The Tennis Court at Burnham Park faces scrutiny recently after questions were raised on the selection of St. Gerard Construction, a contractor entangled in the flood control controversy, adherence to approved plans, and quality of the projects.
00:45In an earlier statement, Magalong assured the public that the project awarded to Diskaya-owned St. Gerard in 2022 was implemented in compliance with all legal procedures.
00:57He stressed that the contractor remains accountable for deficiencies as St. Gerard addresses punch-listing orders and that the City is monitoring the corrections.
01:08He dismissed insinuations tied to the company's controversial name, saying his records as a public servant shows he has always stood firm on principle.
