00:00On the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York last week,
00:04Secretary-General of Humanitarian Aid Network Caritas International, Alastair Dutton,
00:09spoke about the serious challenges the UN currently faces.
00:12We're here at the United Nations and it's the 80th anniversary of the United Nations,
00:19which really is the time when states came together to craft international law
00:23or strengthen international law as a way of building peace
00:27and trying to forge peace between nations.
00:30It's clearly a very difficult time for that
00:33and those norms of international law, of multilateralism, are being stretched
00:40and world leaders are perhaps not treating them with the respect that they have in the past.
00:49We see states playing with the fringes or challenging the application of international law,
00:55but we have to stay strong to those
00:57and the United Nations stands as the custodian of those norms of international law
01:03and we absolutely have to strengthen those
01:05and keep working to get them reinforced and brought back to the force that they've had in the past.
01:11We have to get a太ro
01:25of worship
01:26and we have to thank God for letting us heal.
01:27Thank you
01:28So I think it'sрафing
01:29and have to experience
01:30and have to judge
01:31and have to do
01:32especially
01:33for specific you
01:36because
01:36I also think
01:37I agree
