Corpse Party (2015), directed by Masafumi Yamada, is a Japanese horror film based on the popular survival-horror video game of the same name.
The story follows Naomi, Satoshi, and their classmates, who gather at school to perform a friendship ritual called Sachiko Ever After. The charm is meant to keep them together forever, but instead it tears open a rift that transports them to Heavenly Host Elementary School — a cursed, abandoned building haunted by the vengeful spirits of murdered children.
Trapped in an alternate dimension, the students must endure gruesome hauntings and unravel the dark history of the school. As they try to find a way back to their world, friendships are tested, blood is spilled, and survival becomes uncertain.
The film captures the game’s chilling mix of gore, supernatural horror, and psychological tension.
