00:30Yeah, absolutely. I have a very similar feeling. Maybe without the style of performance that I thought we produced against Liverpool
00:40was right out of our top range today, I didn't feel it was.
00:45But the collective effort, the commitment was there, the desire to win was there.
00:50Mentally, I thought we were really good. I don't think it was our best performance, but still, winning that game 1-0 would have been
00:57sort of the perfect boost for us because we've done that many, many times.
01:01Today, unfortunately, we couldn't hold on to that and end up with nothing.
01:17Yeah, I think that's a prime example of hindsight. It's a wonderful thing, isn't it?
01:21And when you're playing, you have seconds, sometimes less, of course, to make split-second decisions that impact the game.
01:28And I think Nick's been very positive today in everything that he's done, a number of really, really good saves.
01:32I think he'd just distributed the ball in a similar way with the throw, which was really effective.
01:36And as you say, that is the life of a goalkeeper. But still, from the resulting corner, we should have defended it better.
01:42Any other goal from Nick? I mean, if there was a lesson of what the Premier League could be like?
01:51Yeah, today would have been another great learning experience for him because the speed of that game,
01:56the physicality of the game, that's as tough as you'll get.
02:00We know Arsenal are a very strong team, set plays, loads of different facets of their game require physicality.
02:07Ours is very similar and, you know, he'll leave going, you know, it's quick, it's strong,
02:14and you have to bring that yourself to be successful.
02:17And I thought his goal was a brilliant example of what he can be.
02:20I don't think as a team we particularly fed him well today.
02:23I think there was not a huge number of crosses going in the box.
02:27And what he did feed off, I thought he did well.
02:30I've got no update to give you other than I know what you know.
02:38Seeing him go off in that manner was really distressing, I think,
02:42and he's been such a big player for us in so many different ways.
02:46You know, his versatility, his attitude, his quality.
02:51And if we're going to miss that for any length of time, that's going to be a huge blow.
02:54Yeah, every game is different. But yeah, of course, today, again, I'm looking at that going,
03:08if I'm Nick, I want more, you know, I want more.
03:25Not necessarily from the team because he plays an important role in that himself.
03:29But, you know, I want more goal-mouth action, I'm going to thrive and live off that.
03:33Whatever bits he had today, he converted, you know.
03:36And so I think that's something for me to reflect on.
03:40But I think whenever you play Arsenal, especially in the way that they played today,
03:43it's not going to be a game where you're going to get an abundance of chances.
03:46There's going to be a day where you have to take whatever comes your way
03:50and you have to make sure you help the team play better.
03:53I thought he did that while I was on the pitch and I've got no complaints with his performance.
03:57There is no opportunity for you or anything like that,
04:00because you need to be able to get the championship game
04:03and the road that it's going to be matched after that season-like.
04:06Yeah, but I think that's a good thing for us, George, to be honest.
04:09I think after today and the timing of the result, the manner of the result,
04:13you want another game quickly to put that to bed
04:15and change the feeling and change the energy.
04:17So I'm pleased we're playing again so quickly.
04:19The goals?
04:35Yeah, they're very different goals, although they're from the same source.
04:39So obviously we haven't done our jobs well enough individually, collectively.
04:44You can critique the goals from their side and say it was good play,
04:48but for us we had done better.
04:50I think throughout the game the number and the weight of corners told in the end.
04:56We've done so well from lots of those similar positions,
04:59but obviously I think the last one is a killer blow.
05:04It's one of the last moments or actions of the game
05:06and we had to do better in that moment.
05:08Yeah, I think whenever you're in that situation, when there's a low moment, of course I speak.
05:24But I tend not to go too deep into how we played because it's not the time.
05:28I need to do it in a much more level state and then feedback how we can get better.
05:34I don't think an over-emotive reaction ever helps in this situation,
05:38either be it from me or players.
05:40We now have to collectively come together and focus on our next game.
05:44I think harsh words sometimes are needed.
06:00It depends on, you know, there might be one voice to the team, one voice to individuals.
06:07But I do it on a very individual level if that's the case.
06:12The big thing I look at is effort levels, commitment, desire, organisation of course.
06:18So many different things that go into a performance.
06:20I'm seeing the effort, the effort is 100% there.
06:22The quality today was lacking slightly.
06:24So I've got to be very careful that you don't make the performance or the mood or the morale worse.
06:31So I think very, very reflective I will be tonight and then I'll figure out the way forward tomorrow.
06:37Yeah, I think again the change of competition possibly is a good thing for us as well
06:49because it can just leave the Premier League behind and focus now on the Champions League
06:53and try and get that campaign up and running.
06:55It's been a tough opening to the season for us.
06:58It feels like we've taken some blows.
07:00But if we can be resilient enough to absorb those blows and come back stronger, we'll be better for it.
07:06I thought they had more chances than us.
07:14They looked more of a goal threat than us.
07:16So on that side you could say yes, but I thought defeat was harsh on us after everything we gave the game.
07:22Have you looked at him off for Louisville last fall for Wednesday?
07:26Yeah, we hope so.
07:27Lou was suffering a little bit of fatigue in his body today.
07:30So yeah, we hope he'll be available.
07:33Thank you, Dominic.
07:35Just to confirm, was it in the injury?
07:37I think it was, yeah.
07:39Two big penalty incidents in the game, one over to Arsenal.
07:44Might VAR have had a hand on the shoulder?
07:47Yeah, I've not seen them again.
07:50I think I have to trust VAR, I have to trust the process that they go through to end up with the decisions.
07:56I was hopeful, of course, that the penalty would be given.
07:58I saw the arm raised.
07:59I wasn't aware of the touch that I'm being told about beforehand.
08:03That's too good to carry and then it's properly ready.
08:06I just wondered, what happened at the end there, Joel?
08:09Didn't seem to be both in the 90s.
08:11What's that?
08:12I don't think it was anything major.
08:17It's been a season so far where it's been very close for a lot of years.
08:29It just feels like my mind is going to end up being weird.
08:32Now it's got a feeling to be potentially well.
08:35I mean, is it important now that you can put everyone together and keep them up on it?
08:41It has been a kind of testing star without actually being a fan.
08:46Yeah, no, I agree.
08:47I think football is a very strange game sometimes.
08:50You end up sometimes not getting what you feel you deserve.
08:54And when you feel like the players are giving everything and are fully committed
09:00and you see the desire and the commitment, which I'm seeing on a daily basis.
09:04And then sometimes momentum and rhythm and confidence, they're all interlinked.
09:09So I think it's my job to try and rebuild that slightly.
09:13Try and get us feeling good entering the pitch fully confident on what a good team we can be.
09:18All right.
