00:00That's it.
00:02Happy.
00:03Welcome.
00:04Thanks.
00:19Yes?
00:20It must have felt great coming back like that and the substitute really helped.
00:24How did you sort of come back from the game and how do you use the red card as well?
00:29I think we started quite passive into the game.
00:32I think Chelsea dominated us the first minutes until the goal.
00:36And after the goal suddenly everything changed,
00:39so we were much better in possession, we played with much more courage,
00:42we were intense out of possession, we created chances.
00:45So after the goal I have quite a good feeling how the game went
00:50and of course the red card always helped,
00:53but a numerical advantage doesn't mean that it's an advantage on the pitch,
00:57sometimes it's getting even harder to create something,
01:00but my team, they stayed calm, they were very patient,
01:03they had a good positioning and of course then we had some great moments
01:07with our wingers, with one-against-one situations,
01:09with our strikers attacking the box.
01:11So overall I would say that after the goal it was a really good game from us,
01:16the red card helped us, but you always have to use this numerical advantage
01:19and therefore my team did a great good job.
01:23I just wanted to ask you about the player who didn't score,
01:25but he set up Welbeck's first goal in Vancouver-Minter,
01:28and he seemed to give Matthew Ferrella probably out of time.
01:31How good was he today? How good was he becoming?
01:35I think we can go through all our individual players now.
01:38In the end, for me, it's always when you play well as a team,
01:41when you create chances, then the individual players can shine.
01:44So you have to create the pattern that you have a one-against-one situation
01:49from Minte against Cucurella for example,
01:51and there's always a team pattern because if you don't have the right positioning,
01:56if you don't play well, if you don't ask for the ball,
01:58you might not get the midfielder free and then you don't create this one-against-one situation.
02:02So overall, if a team plays well, if my team plays well,
02:05the individual will shine and then of course Minte is in great shape.
02:10He proves it now every weekend,
02:12so therefore I hope he stays in this flow and keeps staying humble and keep working.
02:19You get your three points in terms of the psychological effect,
02:25it's usually worth a lot more to a team like Brighton in particular
02:29to come back at a place like Chelsea and win in this fashion, would you say?
02:34Yeah, for sure.
02:36I think to have the setback and this tough start and to come back like this
02:41and to react like this is just impressive.
02:44Of course, this should give energy, this should create a good atmosphere.
02:48Like I said, it's very important that you not only focus too much on the results,
02:52you really have to focus on the atmosphere and the togetherness in the group,
02:56and that's what my team proved today, so I'm happy for them.
02:59What do you think it says about Brighton and what the club have got in terms of the structure,
03:05that they can lose player after player after player and staff member and staff member to Chelsea
03:10with all their money and yet you can still compete with them like that and beat them?
03:15Good recruitment system from Tony Bloom.
03:19I think that's the main thing.
03:21We sell maybe the best players from us during the summer but we get great players back
03:27and on top of that we have great leaders in the group who are there for a long time
03:33like Jason Steele, James Milner, Louis Stank, George Ruter steps into the leadership role.
03:41I can go through all of them, especially Danny Welbeck, how he played today.
03:45You need the leaders who drive the culture, you need the leaders who drive the values in the football club
03:51and then you have these potential young players who we sign every season, every summer,
03:59who make us better and we try to implement them as quick as possible.
04:02Sometimes you need more time for them.
04:04For example, we have Kruda who was coming last summer, he needed some time to adapt
04:09but now he's ready to play fully in the Premier League, he's a very important player for us
04:13and that's the system, how it works.
04:15So having a good core group of leaders, they drive the culture, they drive the system, the values
04:21and then you have the young players with big potential who need the support from the old leaders
04:27and can bring their full potential on the pitch if they have the right support.
04:31The only problem is Chelsea will now be trying to sign even more of your players.
04:34I have to talk with Tony, you should avoid the changes.
04:39But yeah, it's football, you know?
04:41You have to accept that that's the normal business,
04:44so it's more about finding solutions.
04:47Fabian, do you think the incident in the penalty box,
04:51I think it was one all at the time,
04:53do you think that had an adverse effect on Chelsea?
04:56Because maybe it was not a coincidence that they conceded two goals after that.
05:01I didn't see it perfectly but I think the main thing was that we really stayed calm,
05:07that we had good positioning, that we had a good structure in possession
05:12to create a one-against-one situation, to create crosses
05:15and then we attacked the box quite well.
05:18So I wouldn't say that this changed massively,
05:21I think it was more like the positioning and the belief from my team
05:25to score every second of the game.
05:28And it's a brave man who tries to take on Louis Dunk, right?
05:31Again?
05:32It's a brave man who tries to take on Louis Dunk in a wrestling match.
05:35I think that's not a great thing to do.
05:38But in the end, we should play football, I think that's the main thing,
05:42focusing on football, trying to be the best player you can be.
05:47My skipper is there for my team,
05:49and therefore I think it's very important that he steps into it
05:53in the right moments.
05:55Andy?
05:56Is it quite complicated with the forward options you have
05:59to decide how's best for you all?
06:02Who's best to start with?
06:04Who's best to bring on his inner back side?
06:07I wouldn't say complicated, but of course it's great to have options,
06:11and then you have to make decisions as a coach.
06:14That's part of my job, and therefore for all the decisions I'm doing,
06:18I take the full responsibility.
06:21Sometimes they're right, sometimes they're wrong.
06:23It's normal in life from a manager,
06:25but I think you have to do it with the biggest belief
06:27and the biggest conviction you have inside of you
06:30to make these decisions.
06:31And on top of that, I think the players,
06:34if they have the competition, it's only a positive thing,
06:37that they can really challenge each other in every training session.
06:40They will get better because of that competition and training,
06:43because they have to push their limits,
06:45they have to go intense in every training session,
06:47like this you get better.
06:49Well done.
