Fans chat with Stan Lee AI hologram at LA Comic Con

Marvel comic book superhero creator Stan Lee has returned to LA Comic Con in holographic form to meet fans of his characters, including Spider-Man, Hulk, Iron Man and Thor. Fans were excited to interact with the hologram of Lee, who died in 2018 at the age of 95, in an enclosed booth at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Sept. 26, 2025. Gilbert Orozco from Orange County called the experience 'really dope,' while content creator Melissa Maddock praised the veracity of the virtual Lee's answers.

00:00The character has had many iterations over the years, but I'm not...
00:24Definitely worth it. Definitely worth it. Just the experience over there, the AI,
00:28and just seeing how you could really interact with it, ask you really cool questions,
00:31and give you really tailored questions to you was really dope.
00:46I never got a chance to meet him because I was always busy, but I did tell him that,
00:50thank you for what he's done to help me, and I'm able to keep the legacy going by him
00:56through the Spider-Man, which he created, and other characters such as Deadpool,
01:00which I dress up as.
01:03Great. I think that's all the time we have with the Hall of Sands, so...
01:07...finding the hero in the world around him. And as always...
01:13This is all Stan Lee's thoughts. Like, he would never...
01:16They're never gonna say anything that he never said.
01:19So getting to know that he thought that Spider-Man would save the world,
01:23it was amazing to know. And it made me so happy.
01:26It's very surreal. I think there is an element of weariness around it.
01:31Obviously it's posthumous, so it's a bit like, does it feel a little bit icky?
01:36But it does feel like it's done really well, and obviously the whole experience is done in collaboration
01:40with the Stan Lee Foundation and his family and approval and all that.
01:43Obviously there's always moral questions behind that.
01:45But I think, as an experience, it's quite impressive.
01:48Quite impressive.
02:18You can't see that.
02:19You can't see that.
02:20You can see that this one over time.
02:21But you can see that!
02:23I think that this one over time...
02:24You're going to see that because you can watch everything on your own.
02:25You're going to see a million times in the past.
02:26You have to pack it!
02:31You're going to see that.
02:32It's really okay.
02:33I think that you have to take everything together.
02:38The other two of you are going to be a little bit...
02:41I don't know.
02:42You're going to see that.
02:43It's not very cool.
02:45You're going to see what the others are doing...
