Vice President JD Vance told press on Thursday that American investors will "control" TikTok's algorithm, adding investors will make decisions "based on what's good for their business as opposed to what's good for another government's propaganda arm."

00:09what this deal ensures is that the American entity and the American investors will actually control the algorithm.

00:18We want to make sure that our people and our investors actually make these decisions based on what's good for their business

00:24as opposed to what's good for another government's propaganda arm.

00:27So that's what we've done with this deal.

00:29I think it's very good for the American people.

00:31And as the president said, young people love this.

00:33We actually want everybody to access this, whether they're MAGA or not.

00:37We just want it to be fair.

00:39We want it to be fair to everybody.

00:40And we think that's what's going to happen with this new arrangement.
