00:01Dr. Kaltzit, you have a visitor.
00:09Just call me Kaltzit. I don't want to be mistaken for him.
00:17Okay.
00:20Now, who is this visitor today?
00:23Oh, is you.
00:33So the time has finally come.
00:41Come here, let's get this over with quickly.
00:48Teach me Dr. Kaltzit.
00:53Welcome, lost child.
01:00Whoa.
01:03I am Dr. Kaltzit, head of the medical department.
01:08And chief wrangler of Rhodes Island's eccentric employees.
01:14What is this place?
01:15This place is a special room that can be temporarily moved into the assimilated universe to interact with other dimensions.
01:24I use it to play poker with the other Kaltzits.
01:30And before you start,
01:32Kaltzit would never talk to me like this.
01:34Or, you aren't yapping enough to be the true Kaltzit.
01:38The multiverse is vast.
01:40We Kaltzit aren't all the same.
01:41And I was the one who lost the bet to do this.
01:45So deal with it.
01:46There's a lost farm boy version of one of the main characters running around.
01:51And that boy that is getting lost in his other lives across different dimensions.
01:55So this is pretty tame compared to that.
01:59Now we both know why you're here.
02:02I want to play, but it seems very complicated.
02:08The tutorial has too much text and is split into too many posts.
02:14Well, good for you.
02:17The benevolent Dr. Kaltzit will explain to you the basics, and only the basics, of creating your original character.
02:26So OG, short for Original Character, refers to player-driven characters who live and fight within the quest world.
02:34Making one is pretty easy.
02:37You just need to make a character sheet and post it on the quest.
02:40There is even a character sheet generator in the informational.
02:47But if the arcane arts of Excel are beyond your grasp, you just need to make a post with these things.
02:56Your OG name, who is he?
02:59Race, what is he?
03:01Gender, age and nationality are at your discretion.
03:06Then write a small backstory.
03:08Let us know why he or she became involved in the current happenings of the world at large.
03:15Followed by writing a cool thing.
03:18What makes him unique?
03:20What distinguishes him from the pack?
03:23This can range from an old mech they found under a mountain to a special ability only they have.
03:30To even some hidden ancestry that shapes their fate.
03:35Go crazy!
03:37But be sure to ask the questmaster for approval first.
03:41Then we will move on to the gameplay sections.
03:45Today we will briefly go over them and take a closer look another day.
03:51First your OG reputation.
03:55All new OGs start as potential.
03:58With hard work and a bit of luck, you can advance to greater heights and fight alongside your favorite characters.
04:04However, like all players, you start as a noob.
04:10Reputation level is your XP counter.
04:14This will change if you are a real or super type of character.
04:19But don't worry about that for now.
04:23You just need to know that reels have a cap of 350 rep and supers have a cap of 500 rep before leveling up to the next level.
04:38Next is your reputation track, explained in an oversimplified way.
04:42Reels are speed runners who change equipment as often as they change their underwear.
04:49They move quickly and become relevant much faster.
04:57Super are the over complex whales more often than not sighting on their asses, maintaining their equipment after nuking a battlefield.
05:06They are cool for one turn, but repair the next one.
05:11Rinse and repeat.
05:18Health status is self-explanatory.
05:21All characters have five points of health.
05:23You go under your five points.
05:25Your OG is dead.
05:27Purchase points are your hard-won money to use in the shop for various options to help your gameplay or participate in the turn auction.
05:34If you feel particularly rich, be the young master.
05:38Slap all the other OG with your fat stacks of cash.
05:42Repair points are one of the two ways to recover health in the game.
05:46The other being a built-in region of one health point per turn.
05:51Provided your OG has two or more health points after your mission.
05:55Consumables can only be life-saving mechanisms or reactive armor.
06:07The LSM, short for life-saving mechanism, is the only way to protect against a death if your health drops below zero during a mission.
06:13This item resets your health back to zero after that instance of damage.
06:23If after this, you eat more instances of damage, you'd better hope you have more LSM or a retreat claws.
06:31Reactive armor is easy. They are extra health and is very useful to not die. So better stock up on a lot of them.
06:44To finally put an end to this, your OG equipment.
06:48All OG have five slots where you can equip various parts or technologies you can buy from the store and the auction.
06:59Or gain as mission loot for the various missions on Quest, giving your OG various advantages to play with.
07:07If you want to know more to bad, that too is for another time.
07:11You just need to leave the space in your sheet for each slot.
07:18Arms, legs, armor, power, and special.
07:24Finish it with your current undamaged parts bonus.
07:28The sum of all your valid bonuses and your active damage parts may lose.
07:33Because yes, if you get hit parts break and give you a malice if you don't repair or change them.
07:43Which is zero because you are just starting.
07:48This will change as you buy or win more parts as you play.
07:53You now have everything you need for an OG character sheet.
07:57Do.
07:59Please add a link to your written omakes and art pieces.
08:02Now post it and ping the Questmaster and start playing.
08:06What are you saying?
08:09How do the part bonuses work?
08:11And what is this potential thing?
08:13Didn't you listen at all?
08:17These are just the basics.
08:20If you want to know more, wait until next time.
08:23Teach me, Dr. Kaltzit.
08:25Kaltzit, have you finished talking to the black void in reality?
08:37Yes, was there something else you wanted to tell me?
08:41The doctor wanted some ramen and now the kitchen is on fire.
08:47Shit!
08:49Shit!
08:52Quick, we have to rally the operators before he burns all the living modules again.
