00:00I was thinking of what the opening of the movie could be.

00:03I see us, brother and sister together.

00:06Maybe the idea of this question of why are you even making the movie?

00:16We come from a showbiz family.

00:18Now the comedy of Stiller and Mira.

00:21Jerry Stiller and Anne Mira.

00:22Anne Mira and Jerry Stiller.

00:26We grew up around them, working together and improvising.

00:29And that's what we did.

00:30Because they did it.

00:30They're looking at not only my partner in comedy, this is the mother of my two kids.

00:36When they were working, I remember sometimes hearing laughter, sometimes hearing raised voices,

00:41never knowing if that was real or them rehearsing something.

00:57They're just performers who are married with kids and trying to do their best with both worlds.

01:13I see dad working so hard and mom just letting it flow.

01:18When you tell it, it's not funny.

01:20And if I tell it, it becomes funny.

01:23When I read this, my desperate need to tie what we do on stage with when we're together

01:29has created the gap between us.

01:31I cannot be under that pressure.

01:34I don't know where the act ends and the marriage begins.

01:38My mom wanted to be happy, independent of performing.

01:42This was harder for my dad because he had such a need for approval.

01:46I see that parallel with your dad.

01:48You're trying to balance being a director, an actor, but also just a father.

01:52Success can get in the way of marriage.

01:55We had to stop doing this act.

01:57They have this incredible marriage and I wanted to understand how they did it.

02:02This is all of the truth of our lives.

02:06Whatever you say, they'll near you forever.
