00:00Hello and welcome to your Queensland Jane's weather update for Friday.
00:04Not a lot going on today. If you ever see these radar echoes and there's no cloud, you know it can't be raining.
00:10They're just an error, an anomaly in the radar scan.
00:12We've got a little bit of high cloud. There's moving across the south. We've just got this activity here.
00:17Things are starting to build out here. We'll watch what that does over the next couple of days.
00:21So as we're going through the rest of Friday, skies are clear and there's hardly any wet weather, just this little bit up in through here.
00:27Let's now move into Saturday. You can see in that southwestern corner there.
00:31Here's that building. Notice that it is offshore. So it is just brushing the coast in through there as we go through Saturday.
00:38Into Sunday, very, very heavy offshore. But again, it's not reaching us here.
00:42It's our neighbours. It's not the Queensland area. It's going to be seeing this particular one.
00:46So just a very coastal fringe there that is getting the very, very edge of this activity.
00:51That's into Sunday. Having into Monday, that's now moving away and we're back to fairly clear conditions.
00:57We do have this very light rain band that is building over to the west.
01:01That's Monday. Let's watch that come in on Tuesday.
01:04Just about that southwestern corner, a little bit of coastal activity in the southeast.
01:08Nothing significant, nothing heavy at all.
01:10Heading into next Wednesday, we've got that connection to tropical moisture.
01:14We've got this that's happening well offshore.
01:16And so there's a little bit of activity that's happening down in through here.
01:19This can produce thunderstorms. If you're directly underneath one of those, then yes, it'll be a heavy fall.
01:24But otherwise, it's nothing significant.
01:26That's Wednesday into Thursday.
01:28This action increases a little bit as this band moves towards the east and picks up a little bit more moisture.
01:33But you can see that nice connection down from the tropics in right into the southeastern parts of Queensland there.
01:39That is Thursday. There is a cool change with this one.
01:42And so by Friday, there's hardly anything left.
01:45It's just in that southeastern area there.
01:47What is that going to add up to?
01:48If you're well offshore, then yes, there are some big falls from that rain event that's moving through.
01:53But really, that does not come onto the Queensland coast at all.
01:56It's very, very light.
01:58In the southeast, that may add up to 1 to 5, maybe 5 to 10 millimeters.
02:02If you're under a storm, yes, it is heavier.
02:04But otherwise, this is a very light affair as it moves through.
02:08So for Brisbane, what are we looking at?
02:09Top of about 28, 27, a mix of sun and some cloud.
02:13Dew points starting to rise, but not like we're going to see until next week as that comes through.
02:19Dew point, how much moisture is in the air?
02:20That tells us how the air is going to feel.
02:23And in terms of wet weather, that may begin on Tuesday.
02:26It's very, very light in that southeastern part of Queensland.
02:29The heaviest day may be next Friday.
02:30Let me move myself out of the way.
02:32When the dew point completely bottoms out.
02:34So that's our cold change that comes on through.
02:37You just feel it in what the air just feels a little bit more different.
02:40But otherwise, still lots of sunshine.
02:42There's just a chance of a bit more wet weather as that comes through.
02:45As always, head to Farm Online Weather for the latest.
