00:04Let's talk The Lowdown, your new show. Ethan Hawke stars in it and Sterling Harjo of Reservation
00:09Dogs created it. You always choose such interesting projects. What drew you to this one?
00:14It always starts with the script, but even before the script,
00:18I knew that Sterling Harjo, our director, was attached. I was a huge fan of Reservation Dogs.
00:24I just thought his directing and storytelling was so specific and spot on and interesting.
00:30And so I said, oh, this is somebody that I think I would enjoy working with.
00:33And then I found out that Ethan, of course, was involved. And I love Ethan.
00:36This is our fourth thing that we've done together. Where Ethan goes, quality usually follows.
00:42So I was like, oh, this could be really great. And then I just love the character of Donald.
00:47You know, he was complex. It seemed like he was going in one direction, but there were other elements.
00:52You know, all these different things point to a very good outcome. And indeed, that's what happened.
00:56I'm sniffing at the wrong hole. I'm sniffing at the right hole and it stinks.
01:02Every one of people wants to know, will you be in season two of Overcompensating?
01:06I'm pretty sure. Yes. I saw Benny the other day. So the dad will be part of that in some way.
01:14Another People Mad fan question, who shoots your TikToks?
01:18Oh, it's my team from Full Picture from my wife's company.
01:20You wake up next to him in the middle of the night.
01:24How does it feel being the internet's dad and baby girl?
01:27How does your son react to it?
01:29Well, he takes it in stride. He's okay. He basically just sort of tolerates me,
01:35which is good. And sometimes adds encouragement and some suggestions as well.
01:40He's doing a whole root beer grading post right now on Instagram. So he's heavily into that right now.
01:46So he's got his own creative outlet that he's having fun with.
01:50We were so, so sad when the great David Lynch passed. We know what he meant to you.
01:55How does he continue to inspire you?
01:57Tremendous loss. Tremendous loss of not only such a creative talent, but also a friend.
02:02You know, and that's hard. That's hard to get my head around. David's vision, his sense of the world
02:12was one of a kind, you know, and that I got to be part of that with him for a number of different
02:19projects was really a special thing. I'm very lucky. I'm a very lucky person.
