With pressures like social media and the rising cost of living, we asked people in Birmingham whether it’s tougher to be young today than in the past - and what they think makes life most difficult for the younger generation.

00:00I think every generation has their difficulty.

00:04When I was young, I also feel it's difficult.

00:07So I think AI is a very challenging thing for young people.

00:15Maybe in the future, a lot of jobs will disappear.

00:20Uncertainty, not knowing actually if there will be careers, jobs and opportunities

00:25at the end of their own personal investment in their education.

00:28And where to live and how to afford that.

00:32How to get on the housing ladder.

00:34That's really difficult.

00:35In my day, it was hard.

00:37But I see that that's immensely more difficult now.

00:41And I'm not sure if the infrastructure of property has kept pace with modern ideas of

00:49insulation and eco-friendly insulation, etc.

00:57I think we need to put a lot more into that to make it foldable.
