00:00Seven minutes.
00:01That's all it takes.
00:02Seven minutes to change your brain, your body, your life.
00:05I want to talk to you today about something so simple, yet so powerful, that it transformed
00:10not just my life, but thousands of others worldwide.
00:13This isn't complicated science.
00:15This isn't some complex system.
00:17This is about what happens when you take just seven minutes each morning to program your
00:22brain for success instead of letting the world program it for you.
00:26Most people wake up, check their phone, think about all their problems, and instantly put
00:30their brain into a stress response before their feet even hit the floor.
00:34They've programmed their day for stress before it even begins.
00:38But what if there was another way?
00:40What if you could use those first precious moments when your brain is most receptive to
00:45set a completely different trajectory?
00:47I discovered this by accident.
00:49After my injury, when doctors told me I might never walk again, I was faced with a choice
00:53except their reality or create my own.
00:55I chose to create my own.
00:56Every morning, before the analytical mind kicked in, before the world could tell me what was
01:01and wasn't possible, I took those quiet moments to mentally rehearse my healing.
01:06Seven minutes of focused intention.
01:09Seven minutes of becoming something new.
01:12And you know what happened?
01:13My spine began to heal in ways medical science couldn't explain.
01:17But I could explain it.
01:19When you change your thoughts, you change your life.
01:22It's not just positive thinking.
01:24It's neurobiological programming.
01:27Let me tell you about Lisa.
01:28Lisa was 42.
01:30Chronically depressed.
01:31Overweight.
01:32Stuck in a job she hated and taking five medications just to get through the day.
01:37Like many of you, she was living in survival mode.
01:40Wake up.
01:41React to life.
01:42Go to sleep.
01:43Repeat.
01:43Her past was literally creating her future because she was thinking the same thoughts,
01:49performing the same actions, and creating the same emotions day after day.
01:54Then she heard about this seven-minute morning practice.
01:57She thought, what do I have to lose?
01:59She committed to it completely.
02:01No excuses.
02:02No days off.
02:03Seven minutes first thing every morning before checking emails, before family demands, before
02:09the world could hijack her attention six months later.
02:13Three medications, gone.
02:1527 pounds lighter.
02:16New job.
02:17And most importantly, joy had returned to her life.
02:20Not because her external world magically changed overnight, but because she changed her internal
02:26world first.
02:27And her external reality had no choice but to follow.
02:30This is where most people get it wrong.
02:32They want to change their lives, but they're waiting for something outside themselves to change
02:37first.
02:38They're waiting for the perfect relationship, the perfect job, the perfect body.
02:42Then they'll be happy.
02:44But that's backward.
02:45Your external world is a reflection of your internal state.
02:50Let's talk science for a moment.
02:52Your brain doesn't know the difference between what's happening in your outer world and what's
02:56happening in your inner world.
02:57Your thoughts produce the same chemicals in your brain, whether you're experiencing something
03:02or just thinking about experiencing it.
03:04This is crucial to understand.
03:06Every morning when you wake up, your brain is in a theta brainwave state, that drowsy,
03:11hypnotic state where you're more suggestible.
03:14Most people waste this opportunity.
03:17They immediately start thinking about their problems, their to-do lists, their stresses,
03:21and boom, they've programmed their brain for more of the same.
03:25But what if instead you use those seven minutes to mentally rehearse the person you want to be,
03:30to feel the feelings of already having what you want, to program new neurological networks?
03:36Your brain is made up of neurons, nerve cells that communicate with each other through connections
03:42called synapses.
03:43When you think a thought, neurons fire together in a specific sequence.
03:47When you think that same thought again, those same neurons fire together again, strengthening
03:52their connection.
03:53This is the neuroscience principle, neurons that fire together, wire together.
03:58Most people's brains are wired from years of living in stress, worry, and habitual patterns.
04:04Their neural networks are like super highways of thought that automatically take them down
04:09the same mental roads every day.
04:11That's why change feels so hard.
04:14You're literally fighting against the physical structure of your brain.
04:18But here's the good news.
04:20Neuroplasticity means your brain can change.
04:22It can form new connections.
04:24It can rewire itself.
04:26And the most effective time to do this rewiring is first thing in the morning, in those drowsy
04:32seven minutes before your analytical mind kicks in and tells you all the reasons why change
04:38is impossible.
04:39In those seven minutes, you're literally changing your brain's physical structure.
04:44You're weakening the neural connections of your old self and strengthening the connections
04:49of your new self.
04:50Do this enough times and those new pathways become the brain's default root.
04:54That's when change becomes effortless.
04:57That's when you become someone new.
04:59Your brain works like this.
05:00Whatever you repeatedly think about and focus on, it assumes is important to you.
05:05And it will look for evidence of whatever you're focused on.
05:09Focus on problems.
05:10Your brain will find more problems.
05:12Focus on possibilities.
05:14Your brain will find more possibilities.
05:16This isn't spiritual mumbo jumbo.
05:18This is how your attention and your reticular activating system work.
05:22Your brain has a filtering system that determines what information from your environment reaches
05:27your conscious awareness.
05:28There are millions of bits of sensory information coming at you every second, but you're only
05:34aware of a tiny fraction.
05:36What determines which information gets through?
05:39Whatever you've trained your brain to value and notice.
05:42That's why intention matters so much.
05:44What you put your attention on grows.
05:46What you take your attention from withers.
05:49Seven minutes of focused intention each morning literally tells your brain what to look for,
05:54what to notice, and what to create more of in your life.
05:57Now, let me explain exactly what this seven-minute morning ritual looks like.
06:01First, find a quiet place where you won't be disturbed.
06:04This isn't negotiable.
06:06Turn off your phone.
06:07This is your time.
06:08Second, sit upright with your spine, straight but comfortable.
06:12This posture sends a signal to your brain that this is important.
06:16You're not just lounging or sleeping.
06:18Third, close your eyes and take three deep breaths.
06:22Breathe in through your nose for a count of five, hold for a count of two, and exhale
06:28through your mouth for a count of seven.
06:30This activates your parasympathetic nervous system, taking you out of fight-or-flight mode.
06:36Fourth, place your awareness in your heart.
06:39Not metaphorically, literally feel the space in the center of your chest.
06:43This shifts your consciousness from your head to your heart, from thinking to feeling.
06:50Fifth, generate a genuine feeling of gratitude.
06:53Not just thinking about what you're grateful for, but actually feeling gratitude in your body.
06:58Gratitude is one of the highest emotional states you can be in.
07:02It opens your heart and synchronizes your brain and heart coherence.
07:06Sixth, clearly visualize what you want to create.
07:09See it as if it's happening now.
07:11Add details.
07:12Make it vivid.
07:13Most importantly, feel how you would feel if this were already your reality.
07:17Your brain doesn't know the difference between what's real and what's vividly imagined with
07:21emotion.
07:22Seventh, surrender this vision to a higher power.
07:25Call it the quantum field, the universe, God, whatever works for you.
07:29Release the how and trust that when you change your energy, you change your life.
07:34That's it.
07:35Seven minutes.
07:36But these seven minutes are different from any other minutes in your day because they're
07:40setting the energetic template for everything that follows.
07:43Now, this sounds simple and it is, but that doesn't mean it's easy.
07:47You'll face resistance.
07:48Your old self will fight to survive.
07:50The moment you decide to become someone new, everything that's inconsistent with that new
07:56self will come up to be acknowledged and released.
07:58You might sit down for your seven minutes and suddenly remember 20 urgent things you need
08:03to do.
08:04That's resistance.
08:05You might feel bored, restless, or skeptical.
08:09That's resistance.
08:10You might fall asleep or find your mind wandering to your to-do list.
08:14That's resistance.
08:16This resistance is normal, expected.
08:19It's your brain's homeostatic mechanism trying to keep you the same.
08:23Your brain likes efficiency and your current patterns, even if they're making you miserable,
08:28are efficient because they're familiar.
08:31Your brain isn't designed for happiness.
08:33It's designed for survival.
08:35And to your brain, familiar equals safe.
08:39So how do you overcome this resistance?
08:41Awareness and persistence.
08:43Notice the resistance without judgment and gently bring your focus back to your practice.
08:49Do this enough times and the resistance weakens while your intention strengthens.
08:54Some people tell me, but Joe, I don't have time for this.
08:56And I ask them, do you have time to keep living the same life, creating the same problems,
09:01experiencing the same limitations?
09:03Seven minutes is less than 0.5% of your day.
09:07If you can't commit 0.5% of your day to changing the other 99.5%, then you don't want
09:15change badly enough.
09:16Others say, I tried it for a few days and nothing happened.
09:19Of course nothing happened.
09:20Your current life is the result of thousands of days of thinking a certain way.
09:24Did you really expect that to change after three mornings?
09:27This is where consistency becomes crucial.
09:30The power of this practice isn't in doing it once.
09:34It's in doing it repeatedly until it becomes who you are, not just something you do.
09:39Think about learning any new skill.
09:41The first time you tried to ride a bike, you probably fell.
09:43The first time you tried to play an instrument, you probably sounded terrible.
09:47But with practice, what once required total concentration eventually became automatic.
09:53Your morning practice works the same way.
09:56At first, staying focused for seven minutes might feel like an eternity.
10:00Your mind will wander.
10:01You'll get distracted.
10:03That's normal.
10:03But each time you notice your mind wandering and bring it back to your intention, you're
10:08building the neural circuitry of focus.
10:11You're literally strengthening your brain's ability to concentrate.
10:15After a few weeks, something interesting happens.
10:17The practice gets easier.
10:18You can hold your focus longer.
10:20The feelings become more accessible and more real.
10:23This is your brain physically changing, creating stronger neural connections related to your new
10:29way of being.
10:29After a few months, the transformation deepens.
10:32Now, when stress arises in your day, your brain automatically knows how to return to center
10:36because you've practiced it so many times.
10:39You find yourself naturally making choices aligned with your vision because those neural pathways
10:45have become dominant in your brain.
10:47After a year, your seven-minute practice has literally changed your brain's default state.
10:52What once required effort now feels like your natural way of being.
10:56You haven't just created a new habit.
10:58You've become a new person.
11:01Let me tell you what changes you can expect to see when you commit to this practice.
11:06First, your stress response will change.
11:08Instead of automatically reacting to triggers, you'll find a space between stimulus and response
11:13where you can choose a different reaction.
11:15This alone will transform your relationships in work life.
11:19Second, your energy will increase.
11:21Most people don't realize how much energy they waste on stress, worry, and rumination.
11:24When you direct your energy intentionally, instead of leaking it through stress responses,
11:30you'll have more vitality throughout your day.
11:32Third, your sleep will improve.
11:34Many sleep problems stem from an overactive mind that can't shut down at night.
11:38Your morning practice teaches your brain how to shift states intentionally, making it easier
11:44to transition into sleep at night.
11:46Fourth, your intuition will sharpen.
11:48When you quiet the analytical mind each morning, you create space to receive insights from your
11:53subconscious mind.
11:54Solutions to problems will appear seemingly out of nowhere.
11:58Creative ideas will flow more easily.
12:01You'll make better decisions because you're accessing more of your brain's resources.
12:06Fifth, your health will improve.
12:08Chronic stress is linked to almost every major disease.
12:11By starting each day in a coherent state instead of a stress state, you're literally changing
12:15your gene expression.
12:16Studies show that practices like this can lower inflammation, improve immune function, and
12:21even lengthen telomeres, the protective caps on your DNA that influence how you age.
12:28Sixth, your perception will shift.
12:30Remember that filtering system in your brain I mentioned?
12:32When you consistently practice gratitude and positive expectation, your brain starts filtering
12:37for the good in your life.
12:39You'll notice opportunities you were blind to before.
12:42You'll see solutions where you once saw only problems.
12:47Seventh, your relationships will transform.
12:49Energy is contagious.
12:50When you change your emotional state, the people around you can feel it.
12:54They respond differently to you because you're projecting different energy.
12:57Without saying a word, you'll influence the emotional climate of your home and workplace.
13:01Don't just take my word for this.
13:03Let me share some real examples from people who've committed to this practice.
13:08There's Michael, a corporate executive who had been taking blood pressure medication for
13:1312 years.
13:13After six months of this morning practice, his doctor was baffled by his improved readings
13:18and reduced his medication.
13:20After nine months, he came off it completely.
13:23There's Sarah, who had suffered from chronic anxiety since childhood.
13:27She tried therapy, medication, exercise, everything helped a little, but nothing shifted the underlying
13:32pattern.
13:33After committing to this morning practice for just 90 days, she experienced days without
13:38anxiety for the first time in her adult life.
13:41After a year, anxiety was the exception rather than her default state.
13:46There's Robert, who had been stuck in the same career position for eight years despite trying
13:51everything to advance.
13:53Within four months of starting this practice, he was promoted twice.
13:58Not because the practice magically gave him new skills, but because it changed how he showed
14:03up at work.
14:04More confident, more creative, more solution-oriented.
14:07There's Maria, whose relationship with her teenage son had deteriorated to the point where
14:12they barely spoke.
14:13She couldn't change him directly, so she changed herself through this practice.
14:18Within weeks, their relationship began to thaw.
14:20Not because she was doing anything differently, but because she was being someone different.
14:26These aren't anomalies.
14:27These are the predictable results of changing your mental and emotional state consistently
14:32over time.
14:33When you change your energy, you change your life.
14:35It's cause and effect.
14:36Let's talk about the quantum physics perspective for a moment.
14:39We now know that everything in the universe is energy vibrating at different frequencies.
14:44Your thoughts and emotions are energy too.
14:45They generate an electromagnetic field that extends beyond your physical body.
14:51Quantum physics has demonstrated that the observer affects the observed.
14:55Your consciousness influences the behavior of energy at the subatomic level.
15:00This means that where you place your attention literally affects the physical world around you.
15:06Not just metaphorically, but actually.
15:08When you sit in those seven minutes each morning, feeling the emotions of your desired future
15:13as if it's already happened.
15:14You're not just engaging in a psychological exercise.
15:17You're sending out a specific electromagnetic signature into the quantum field.
15:22You're communicating with the field in its own language.
15:25The language of energy and feeling.
15:27This is why feeling is so important in your morning practice.
15:31It's not enough to visualize what you want.
15:33You must feel it.
15:34Emotion is energy in motion.
15:36It's the energy that gives your thoughts creative power.
15:40When you combine clear intention, thought, with elevated emotion, feeling, you're doing
15:46exactly what quantum physicists talk about when they describe how consciousness affects reality.
15:52You're participating in the creation of your life instead of just responding to whatever
15:57happens to you.
15:58Most people live their entire lives as though they're passengers rather than drivers.
16:02They react to circumstances, respond to other people's energy, and drift with the currents
16:09of culture and society.
16:11They don't realize they have the power to create differently.
16:15Your seven-minute morning practice is you taking the driver's seat in your life.
16:20It's you declaring to the universe, this is who I am becoming, this is what I am creating,
16:26and this is the energy I'm broadcasting today.
16:29Let me show you exactly how to implement this practice in your life.
16:34Not just the basic steps, but the deeper nuances that make all the difference between a ritual
16:40that transforms and one that becomes just another abandoned habit.
16:46First, start by making a firm decision the night before.
16:49This isn't just about setting an alarm.
16:51This is about having a conversation with yourself before sleep.
16:54Look yourself in the mirror and say, tomorrow morning, I choose to create my day rather than
16:59let my day create me.
17:01This declaration matters.
17:02Your subconscious mind is listening.
17:04While you sleep, your brain processes this intention, preparing neural pathways to support
17:10your morning practice.
17:12The greatest athletes visualize their performance before the actual event.
17:16You're doing the same thing, mentally rehearsing your morning success before it happens.
17:22Many of my students keep a small note by their bedside that simply says,
17:25seven minutes to change everything.
17:28It's the last thing they see before sleep and the first thing they see upon waking.
17:31This visual anchor reinforces your nighttime commitment during that vulnerable moment when
17:37you first open your eyes and the old program wants to take over.
17:41Second, set your alarm 15 minutes earlier than your normal wake-up time.
17:45I know I said the practice takes seven minutes, but you need time to transition from sleep
17:49to full presence.
17:51Those few minutes of gentle transition make all the difference.
17:54Don't jump straight from sleep into your practice.
17:57Your brain needs a moment to shift states.
18:00Some of my students use alarms that simulate sunrise with light that slowly brightens the
18:04room, signaling to your brain that it's time to wake naturally.
18:08Third, create a dedicated sacred space for your practice.
18:11This doesn't require an elaborate meditation room.
18:14Simplicity is often better.
18:16Just a comfortable chair or cushion in a quiet corner works perfectly.
18:20What matters is that this space is reserved for your morning practice and nothing else.
18:25Your brain forms associations with physical environments.
18:29When you consistently do your practice in the same location, your brain begins to associate
18:33that spot with focus, intention, and elevated emotion.
18:37Eventually, just sitting in that space automatically triggers the brain state you want.
18:42Keep this space clean and free from distractions.
18:45No bills to pay, no to-do lists, no reminders of daily responsibilities.
18:50Some people like to add meaningful objects, perhaps a candle, a special stone, or a photo
18:56that evokes positive emotion.
18:58These aren't necessary, but if they help you connect with elevated feelings, include them.
19:03Fourth, keep a practice journal beside your sacred space.
19:07After your seven minutes, take 60 seconds to record your experience.
19:10Note any insights, emotions, or resistance you encountered.
19:14Be specific about how your body felt, what emotions arose, and any mental images that appeared.
19:20This journaling step is an optional.
19:22It's a crucial part of neurological change.
19:24The act of writing physically reinforces the new neural patterns you're creating.
19:29It moves your experience from the realm of the intangible into the physical world.
