00:00Hi everyone. In this video, we're going to see how to create a concept map in Word.
00:11To do this, the first thing we're going to do is place our page horizontally to make better use of the space and set narrow margins to have more space.
00:21To create the concept map, we're going to use a Word tool called SmartArt.
00:27In the Insert tab, we select SmartArt.
00:30This graphics window opens.
00:33We'll see that if we select on the left side, the graphics that we can use will change.
00:41In this case, we'll click on Hierarchy and choose one of these graphics, although later, once we have the graphic done, we can also modify it.
00:50We choose one of them, click on Accept, and we'll see how a concept map appears by default.
00:56The first thing we're going to do is delete all these boxes to start from scratch.
01:02Here, a window appears in which we'll write the texts.
01:05We can make it bigger and move it.
01:07If it appears in this text panel, this is where you can make it appear or not.
01:14And the first thing we're going to do is delete the boxes that appear.
01:18So we go here and delete.
01:21It shows us a single box where we're going to start.
01:25So we simply start writing our first level.
01:28To add a new lower level, we press the Enter key.
01:36We see how it automatically places the box at the same level as the first one so that it's on a lower level.
01:43We can decrease the level by clicking on this decrease icon.
01:47We can raise it again by clicking on Promote or also by using the Tab key.
01:55We see how it's placed below and we continue writing.
01:59We press Enter.
02:09We see how it automatically places the next box when we press Enter on the same level where we're writing.
02:14In this case, we want it to be below the one we just wrote, so we press the Tab key and continue writing.
02:33In this case, I want this next box to be on the same level as this other one, so I'll erase the separation and see how it's placed.
02:44OK, Enter.
03:00In this case, I want this box to be below this other one, so we're going to decrease the level.
03:14Once we have our graph with all its parts written, we can make the box bigger if we need to.
03:28And we can also change its appearance.
03:31If we expand this section on designs, we can see how we can add any of the ones that appear, even create a horizontal hierarchy.
03:39In this case, we are going to leave this one and see how we can also modify the colors and the font and color of each of the boxes.
03:52To do this, we click on the format section and see how in this case we can change the font, the outline of any of the boxes, for example, by selecting one of them, expanding it and choosing one of the colors.
04:12We could assign a different color to the next level.
04:24And for the last one, a different color.
04:26The good thing about this tool is that if we need to make a change at any time, we simply have to go back to the text section and in this case, place ourselves on the box under which we want to add the boxes.
04:41We see how in this case it adapts the size and at any time we can change its appearance and adapt it to what we want.
05:01I hope it has been useful to you.
05:10I hope it has been useful to you.
05:11I hope it has been useful to you.
