00:26Chances were Federico Piesa, youngsters Rio Angamola, Tren Ioni, Curtis Jones continue to work his way back to full fitness.

00:36And Liverpool's performance, there were some good displays, there were some pretty bang average and lacklustre performance if being truthful.

00:45But there was a first goal for Alexander Isak since his move from Newcastle United for a British record fee of £125 million.

00:53He actually nearly broke the deadlock after 45 seconds when he was slipped in by Curtis Jones but had an effort saved.

00:59First half, Devin flowed, Marmadashvili made a good save from Adam Armstrong.

01:04Southampton should have took the lead three minutes before half-time when Adam Armstrong hit the bar and the rebounds,

01:11which was head-wide with a goal gaping and Liverpool punished them within a minute.

01:29He was substituted at half-time as he continues to work his way to full fitness course.

01:34He had a really disrupted pre-season training away from Newcastle's first team.

01:40So he was substituted at half-time on-come. If you go back to TK, Liverpool didn't really get going in the second half, to be honest with you.

01:46They were so careless, some players. Jeremy Frimpong, Joe Gomez, Vitaro Enzo.

01:54Just couldn't build any rhythm, just giving the ball away needlessly at times.

01:58And it was Enzo's error when he caught in two minds in a corner and he tried to bring it down.

02:03He just headed it clear. Instead, he let Southampton recycle the ball, put it into the box, and there was Shea Charles to finish.

02:12The pool of a game, the composure, Hugo Ecotique put under the pool back in front with four minutes remaining.

02:20But it results in his red card. Great ball over the top, Mandy Robertson.

02:24Brought down from Federico Piazza, did really well to beat the offside strap.

02:33All that's a button. He's always been booked for arguing with the referee beforehand.

02:38So, a red card for him. And he'll miss Saturday's trip to Crystal Palace in Premier League, which is a tough game already.

02:46And to add to that, Giovanni Leone, he really was excellent on his debut.

02:50His first game, 18 years old. He looked beyond his years.

02:54Had to be stretched off with what looked to be a serious knee injury, potentially.

03:09He called Ecotique's red card stupid in his postmaster.

03:39Some good performances, some performances that were a mixed bag.
