Watch: Koroit netballer Molly McLaren ahead of 2025 Hampden grand final
Transcript
00:00Thanks for joining us Molly. Big week for you as a Coroid Saint playing in another Open Hampton Grand Final. How are you feeling?
00:07I'm a little bit nervous as it's getting close but I'm so excited. Like the girls are so pumped. We've got training tonight and I'm sure it'll just be a really good environment to be around.
00:16And you made the Grand Final last year with a really young team. How important was it to be able to back that up this year and have another crack?
00:22I think it's really important. I feel like we've even stepped up another level in ability and as a team. I feel like because they're such a young group it's obviously going to be difficult when you play older teams. But yeah, it's really good. I'm looking forward to it.
00:36And can you tell us about some of your teammates you think might have an impact on Friday?
00:40Obviously India O'Connor. She's unbelievable for her age. Even Skylar O'Donnell and Millie Jennings coming out in the defensive end. And honestly Layla and Emily, nearly everyone in our team could rip out their best game.
00:52And you've been playing goal attack most of the year. I had a really strong season. What do you think you've improved in your game?
00:59Honestly playing more with the girls I feel like. Indian shall we have been back a lot this year so playing more with them, developing new skills and yeah, makes me feel more confident playing with those girls.
01:09And it could be a big day for your family. Your dad Chris is coaching the senior football side in the Grand Final. What would it mean if you could both get a flag on the same day?
01:16It would be unbelievable if we could both do it. Obviously we're hoping to do it but yeah, it'd be an unbelievable experience for us to both be in and a great night at the club.
01:25Well best of luck Molly.
