02:02No.
02:03Parece que no.

04:06Se mantiene el empate.

04:31Cinco carreras por cuatro.
04:33En once entradas.
04:35Y celebran.
04:38Como debe ser.
04:40Su pase a la post temporada.
04:49Declara Mike Shield.
04:51Queremos ganar más juegos.
04:53Esto es un gran logro.
04:55Que lo vamos a disfrutar esta noche.
04:57Fue una gran temporada.
04:58Los muchachos batallaron todo el juego.
05:01Y fue un juego de post temporada.
05:03Ryan O'Hernes es increíble.
05:04Obviamente quería contribuir y ser parte de esto.
05:07Quiero lograr algo especial con estos chicos.
05:08Es un sueño estar aquí celebrando.
05:10Y significa que todavía tenemos trabajo por hacer.
05:13Tenemos muchas ventajas.
05:14Un line-up fuerte.
05:15Un bullpen electrizante.
06:54De todas maneras van a revisarla.
06:56Sí, como no.
06:58Esa pelota le da en el pie.
07:01Protestó Oliver Marmol.
07:23Tremendo sencillo.
07:24Cuarto innings.
07:31El batazo bien ubicado.
07:36De Fermín entre el central y el izquierdo.
07:39Ahí viene anotando Jordan Walker.
07:43Y los cardenales están arriba.
07:46Cuarto episodio.
07:58De nuevo Elliot Ramos.
08:02El roletazo de Heat hacia el jardín derecho.
08:05Va a anotar una.
08:06Mandan también al otro para la goma.
08:08Y así los gigantes ponen el juego 4 a 2.
08:16Iván Herrera representando la carrera del empate.
08:19Conecta este batazo fuerte hacia el jardín central.
08:23La persigue el jardinero.
08:24Nada que hacer.
08:25Hola y adiós.
08:27Qué clase de honrón para el panameño.
08:29Empatando el juego a cuatro.
08:32Después.
08:33Vemos como Pagés conectaba ese roletazo flojo.
08:38Walker.
08:38Rolling por el campo corto.
08:40Aunque anotaba Nolan Arenado.
08:42Pasemos al quinto inning.
08:44Rafael Devers.
08:45En dos volaciones.
08:47Strike.
08:47El batazo fuerte hacia la banda contraria.
08:49Atrás.
08:49Lejos.
08:50Hola y adiós.
08:52Tremendo honrón.
08:53Para Rafael Devers.
08:55En ese momento el juego se ponía 6 a 5.
08:57Y todavía faltaba mucho encuentro por delante.
09:03Noveno episodio.
09:03Elio Tarramos viene a batear.
09:08En dos y dos.
09:12Por segunda.
09:14De frente.
12:32¡Bienvenidos de nuevo a Quick Pitch for One Baseball!
14:00El golp got him swinging.
14:35Ok.
14:36All right.
14:37I give it a shot.
14:41That beat 12-6 curveball.
14:43Y just kind of release it like you're shaking somebody's hand.
14:46Oh, what a curveball.
14:48Holy mackerel.
14:50Next year, 20 years from now, this will be remembered as the Clayton Kershaw game.
14:55He found a slider.
14:56Plug on and missed strike three.
14:58Slider that he missed by a foot.
14:59Every year he learns something new.
15:01I mean, his slider is way better this year.
15:03It was a pitch that he needed to kind of separate himself to kind of take his game to the next level.
15:07Devastating slider.
15:09Can you see him as two lanes?
15:10Hanging a bunch of cage like wallpaper out there.
15:13I keep saying and keep thinking that every time Kershaw's on the field, he's the best player out there.
15:19The Cy Young award winner of the National League, Clayton Kershaw.
15:24You know a pitcher's really good when you go in hot and he just automatically cools you off.
15:29And Clayton has that ability.
15:31I think he's the best pitcher, you know.
15:32You know, that I've faced just nasty stuff.
15:35Even though he won the Cy Young, I guarantee you that it's only going to make him more determined for the coming years.
15:41Winning this award once is pretty tough.
15:43There's a select group that have won it more than once.
15:45And joining that group is the Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw.
15:48And then you get the impression, this is not going to be the one.
15:51He pretty much is unhittable.
15:53This is the best pitcher in baseball.
16:08His team expects to win because of him.
16:12And they want to win for him, which is a pretty great tribute.
16:15He has had a once in a generation kind of season.
16:18How good can you be?
16:21MVP, Clayton Kershaw.
16:23Your 2014 National League most valuable player.
16:26Also Cy Young.
16:27Wow.
16:28I mean, that's amazing, guys.
16:30I can't even believe it.
16:32Clayton Kershaw is the best left-handed pitcher on the planet.
16:35And a lot of times is the best pitcher on the planet.
16:39And with that, 300 strikeouts for Clayton Kershaw.
16:43Just a machine coming at you.
16:45Clayton Kershaw, a monumental strikeout.
16:48Then you kind of have a sense of how special Koufax was.
16:52And if you're ever in the same sentence with a guy like that, you know, you're doing things pretty good.
16:57And he strikes him out and passes Sandy Koufax alone in third in the Dodger all-time list.
17:03He's the best on the planet.
17:05Clayton Kershaw stands alone in second place in the Dodger all-time list for strikeouts.
17:11It might go down.
17:12One of the best lefties we have to play this game.
17:13And nobody on either side saw this coming.
17:18As you can imagine, the crowd is stunned.
17:22Sometimes it's just bad luck.
17:24And the Nationals have gone back-to-back against Kershaw.
17:28Unbelievable turn of events.
17:30Everything people say is true right now about the postseason.
17:34He's out there not to pitch to his narrative, but pitch his team to the first World Series in over 30 years.
17:40Another strikeout four on the Knights.
17:43200 career postseason strikeouts.
17:46He has just passed Hall of Famer John Smoltz.
17:49He is just in a groove.
17:51But Kershaw's into another gear now.
17:53It just speaks to his compete and just how great of a pitcher he is.
17:56Six strikeouts for Clayton Kershaw.
17:59You know, any time you can have success in the postseason, it just means so much.
18:03That's what you work for.
18:03That's what you play for.
18:04The Dodgers win!
18:06Finally!
18:07The wait is over!
18:09The Dodgers are the champions of 2020!
18:13The future Hall of Famer's got a ring.
18:15I just got a lot of emotions right now.
18:17And it's just a special feeling, man.
18:19World Series champs.
18:20They can't take that away.
18:22Kershaw's consistency, I think, is the biggest thing, obviously.
18:25And the 100th win for Clayton Kershaw at Dodger Stadium.
18:29Every time he's on the field, he's one of the best in the game.
18:32There it is!
18:33Clayton Kershaw!
18:34The Dodgers strikeout king!
18:37Hung on and missed!
18:38Strike three!
18:39That ends the inning!
18:40Kershaw screams in satisfaction!
18:43Kind of a really cool part of being a Dodger is getting to play with him.
18:47The ravine rises, ready to erupt.
18:50Strike three crowd!
18:51Strikeout number 3,000 for Clayton Kershaw!
18:56History at Dodger Stadium!
18:58This is pretty much the last box that he needed to check.
19:02He's a special, once-in-a-generation type pitcher for me.
19:06Oh, what a dandy!
19:08Clayton Kershaw, the best they have.
19:14He's in the middle of one of the best seasons of his career,
19:17but before Carlos Rodon prepare for the post-season,
19:20he was in the MLB Central to talk about what he has worked on.
19:23Definitely will you see this after the court.
19:29Let's go with Quick Fitch for One Baseball.
19:34And for the Yankees, it's the all-star Carlos Rodon.
19:37The Yankees have a tremendous amount of confidence when Rodon is on the mountain.
19:40Strike three!
19:41He has just plummets.
19:43The Cubs, they're just all balanced.
19:45Nine in a row retired, swing and a miss.
19:48Rodon is rolling, man.
19:49That's his fifth case.
19:51Carlos Rodon has now won seven of his last eight starts at Yankee Stadium.
19:55Seven outstanding innings by Carlos Rodon.
19:59Strikeout number 10 for Rodon.
20:01That is a big boy performance by the Yankee left-hander.
20:33Let's get a look at Carlos a little bit at NC State.
20:38Let's get the tape rolling because I want to see some of this college.
20:44Look at this guy.
20:46No facial hair.
20:48Probably about 25 pounds lighter.
20:50All-American.
20:52All-American.
20:53You're just setting strikeout records.
20:55Also leading the ACC a couple of years in hip batsmen, by the way.
20:58Just want to throw that out there.
20:59Get him off the plate.
21:00First rounder, right, going to the White Sox.
21:05You know, tell me a little bit about that.
21:08Let's pause the tape real quick.
21:09Just tell me about getting drafted first round, kind of fulfilling that dream.
21:13Not only getting drafted and then getting called up to the big news.
21:17Yeah, I mean, obviously at the time, surreal.
21:20A dream as a kid, as you know, as you guys know.
21:23Yeah.
21:23You know, getting drafted, having the chance to play professional baseball.
21:27And then the next, you know, the next thing was getting called up.
21:31As you guys know as well.
21:33I mean, what a dream.
21:34I mean, you don't really.
21:36I mean, you dream about it.
21:37But in the moment when it happens, it's like it doesn't feel real.
21:40And you're pinching yourself.
21:41And until you take that first plate appearance or take it out of that first pitch on the mound, it's not real.
21:47And even then, it's not.
21:48Let's keep it going because your White Sox tenure had someone in there.
21:57Now, I got – this was great because I always thought your stuff was absolutely incredible, right?
22:04And we had a good – we had a, you know, nice – we had a really good team actually leading up in that season.
22:09And we had some injuries and we kind of fell out of it.
22:11But, hey, not bad with your boy, right?
22:14Not bad?
22:15He's coming back.
22:15He's trying to let him come back out?
22:17Right?
22:17Not bad.
22:18He's showing the resume.
22:20I love it.
22:21I think he's showing his resume.
22:22He's showing the resume.
22:23That's what I'm saying.
22:24Hey.
22:24I'm trying to take a young buck, trying to help him out, you know, figure out the league a little bit.
22:29I want to get to also, in a White Sox uniform, one of your best games too, the no-hitter.
22:34Yeah.
22:35And so, I just want to take me through this ninth inning, right?
22:39You have the no-hitter going.
22:43You had a perfect game going.
22:44This play is a great play.
22:45Yeah, great play right here, right, to get the first out by Abreu.
22:50And then –
22:51Listen, they call it a back foot slider for a reason.
22:54He's got to get his foot out of the way, right?
22:56Yeah, no.
22:56He's got to get – look at this poor guy over here.
23:00Just like, I can't believe that just happened right there, right?
23:03You know, you had the perfect game going.
23:04Ends up becoming a no-hitter, potential no-hitter because of the hit batter.
23:10Yep.
23:10Which is something, you know, you were always accustomed to.
23:13But you end up finishing that.
23:14Just take me through this feeling right here.
23:16Yeah, so I run to third base because I thought it was a great play from Encada, obviously.
23:19It didn't dab up my catcher, which is kind of a no-no.
23:22That's who you're supposed to go to first.
23:23But in the box was Jordan Luplo.
23:25He was a lefty killer as well.
23:27Yeah.
23:27Hammers lefties.
23:28And it was like a 10-pitch at-bats full count.
23:34And at the time, I didn't throw as many change-ups.
23:36And I think I shook to the change-up, or Zach Collins might have called a change-up.
23:41And I threw like a floater up and away, and he just rolled over.
23:44I mean, it was just my day.
23:47Well, you had a great season.
23:48Yeah.
23:48You bet on yourself going into free agency, right?
23:51You take the two-year deal in San Fran with the opt-out, and in San Fran, you had a phenomenal
23:57season.
23:58Yeah.
23:58Right.
23:59And it was heater-slider.
24:01Yeah, that's it.
24:01Heater-slider.
24:02Yeah, that's it.
24:03Heater-slider the whole time.
24:04It was like, you threw that change-up out the window.
24:06We don't need no curveball.
24:08It's heater-slider, and you were just punching tickets the entire time in San Fran.
24:13All-star season, right?
24:15How great has it been?
24:16You know, all-star games.
24:18You signed the contract with New York, right?
24:21And this is where, you know, the pressure of playing in New York, you know, starts to
24:26come a little bit, right?
24:28And you're learning how to deal with all that.
24:31My thing is, like, we're going to get to the part, you end up throwing game one of the
24:35ALCS, right, in 24.
24:37Yeah.
24:38Take me through kind of this game right here, but also the experience.
24:42Playoffs in New York City for the Yankees playing for you in New York.
24:47And, I mean, just the energy was incredible.
24:50I knew the start before in the ALDS.
24:52I lost game two to the Royals and kind of got, you know, got a little crazy.
24:56The energy was, just the emotions, the energy and everything was, it was a lot.
25:01And I loved it.
25:02And it was just kind of controlling that and following that up.
25:04And that was the goal coming in the start in game one in the ALCS.
25:08I knew it was going to be loud.
25:09I knew it was going to be, you know, crazy.
25:12And there was a lot of pitches and strikeouts where I was trying to just hold everything
25:18in and just, like, crunch it all in and just walk off the mound to keep myself under wraps
25:22and just, you know, get as many outs as I could.
25:26But, I mean, it was incredible.
25:27I can't wait for it again this year.
25:29My father, every time this game is because of him.
25:52They almost have identical finishes.
26:01It's kind of eerie.
26:03You know, it's great.
26:05You know, it's such a thing coming in the bloodline from my father.
26:08And it's, what can I say?
26:10It's awesome to be part of it.
26:11Swing and a long one.
26:12There it is, folks.
26:14Baseball history.
26:15Wow.
26:17What a play.
26:20Now, Fernando Tatis playing at third base.
26:24That was a highlight real-time play.
26:28Oh, what a play by Tatis.
26:33Line drive, double play.
26:34Junior is my little trophy.
26:36He was with me and watching me play.
26:39I think Junior can be the definition of a franchise player.
26:42He bring me to the park, to the big, big clubhouse, and he showed me what this game was about.
26:47I fell in love with it.

30:25Sino consiguen su pase a la post temporada.
30:30Batazo histórico para Freddy Fermín.
30:33Qué clase de hit.
30:35Vamos ahora al Oracle Park en San Francisco.

30:56Ante los envíos de McGreevy.
30:59Y ya los Giants ganan una por cero.
31:01En el segundo.
31:05Jordan Walker.
31:42Y expulsaron a Oliver Marmol.
31:43Luego Alec Burlison en dos y dos.
31:47En la alta del tercero.
31:49Conecta este imparable hacia el jardín.
31:51Derecho.

32:44Ahora ganan 4-2.
32:45Aunque fue puesto out Ramos en primera.
32:48Iván Herrera.
32:51Representando la carrera del empate hasta Justin Berlander.

33:48Y así cayó el último out.
33:49El out 27.
33:50Los cardenales vencieron a los gigantes.
33:52Seis carreras por cinco.
34:01Vámonos a Atlanta.

34:10Y el venezolano la destroza por el izquierdo.
34:14Juego nuevo.
34:16Una a una.
34:20En el segundo Michael Harris.
34:30Al primer lanzamiento.
34:32Qué batazo.

35:47Jacob Young es becoming the most famous centerfielder in Major League Baseball.

36:41Tracking it down.
36:43Es Gilbert.
36:44You can go get him.
36:45Diving it left is Bryce Johnson.
36:48Makes the catch.
36:50Johnson lees it out.
36:52And robs Yelich.
36:53Better come in on this one.
36:55Oh my goodness.
36:56He got it.
36:57Did it pop up and then he got out before he hit the ground.
37:00He did it again.
37:01Goodness gracious, Jacob Young.
37:22Yeah, it's one thing if a retired player gives you a little tip every once in a while.
37:27It's another thing when it's George Brett.
37:30They just don't make him like that.
37:32Give me an example of where he gave you a correction or set you straight on something.
37:37Yeah, it's always one of the things he's told me is just try to hit the ball hard, not far.
37:42And so that's something that kind of sit with me because homers kind of, you can't try to hit a homer.
37:47He always asks me, how many times have you tried to hit a homer in your career really?
37:50And it's not very many.
37:52And then it's like, how many times did you not try to hit a homer?
37:54And you hit a homer is like more times than not.
37:56So you think of that like, all right, home runs kind of come by accident.
37:59And so you square up the ball, hit the ball hard.
38:02And then that's when the kind of home runs and extra base hits come.
38:04And so that was something that George kind of preaches and tells us.
38:08You know, I'd imagine there's another guy who's on the active roster, your teammate, Sal Perez,
38:12that's going to have that same kind of role when it's finally said and done for him.
38:15In my book, he's a first ballot Hall of Famer.
38:18Is having Sal as a teammate like having a big brother, a father figure, and a crazy uncle all at the same time?
38:26Yeah, he's one of one.
38:28And he's also like having a younger brother, too, because he's always keeping it fun in the clubhouse,
38:35keeping it fun in the cage and the dugout, and he's just always enjoying it every day.
38:39It's like he plays every day like it's his last out there, and he enjoys it.
38:43And so it's great to see just the past four years with him.
38:46I've been honored to be his teammate.
38:47And just the way he shows up to the field, the work he puts in day in, day out,
38:52and just how he is not only as a baseball player but as a person.
38:57He's always thinking of others first, and then it's everyone else and then Salvi.
39:01And so it's amazing to have him as a teammate.
39:04I'm just honored to be able to kind of be able to play with him and see him do what he's been doing.
39:08We always hear, we, I mean, you know, those of us that are not Major League Baseball players,
39:13we hear about his ability to read signs, the finer points of the game,
39:19some of those edges that he's so good at reading and conveying.
39:23Do you have an example of something that you've learned from Salvi in terms of maybe tipping locations of pitches,
39:29maybe where to be defensively when he's behind the plate?
39:32Is there anything you can bring us into in that regard?
39:35Yeah, he's just always, I feel like, just learning.
39:37He's, that's one thing from him.
39:39It's not just like with those type things that you said.
39:41It's just any time you see him, like, off the field or whatever, on his iPad or whatever it is,
39:46he's watching baseball, and he's always just learning.
39:48And then you see that, and then he's just, he always has something for any part of the game.
39:53And so whether it's a mound visit, just talking to the pitcher, all right, what are we going to do here?
39:57Or whether it's in the cage or after a game, all right, we should have done this or that better.
40:01And so he's just always, he's amazing.
40:04He's, like I said, he's one of one.
40:06Yeah, when you talk about learning, for you, none of being a big league baseball player was probably that striking
40:13because of how you grew up as a son of a big league player.
40:17I'm old enough to remember your dad's career vividly.
40:20First of all, I want to know how often you talk to Pops,
40:23and secondly, is he still as jacked as he was when he played?
40:25Yeah, he still tries to get in the gym every single day.
40:29So, but, yeah, he's in good shape.
40:32I'd give him that for sure.
40:34Yeah, he loves the gym.
40:35But, yeah, he's just, like I always tell everyone, he's been my little cheat sheet that I've had throughout my whole entire career.
40:41So, after every game, I call him on the drive home or on the road, on the bus, whatever it is,
40:46and we just go over the game and just talk about baseball because we both love the game,
40:50and just he's been around the game for so long, and then I'm starting to kind of learn things in this game.
40:55And so it's great to kind of just talk about it and go over it and just kind of learn from it.
41:00Your dad could hit a little bit, too.
41:02He was the first AL pitcher to homer in an interleague game, if memory serves, and I believe this might be it.
41:07There it is.
41:08Right here.
41:09So does he ever try to give you hitting stuff, too, or is it just more about life as a big leaguer?
41:15Yeah, he was always kind of like my hitting guy growing up just because he knew my swing so well,
41:20and he'd always throw to me in the cage and everything.
41:22And it was funny because every, like, growing up, he's like, how many homeruns do you have in the big leagues?
41:27How many this and that?
41:28And so until I hit my first one, I was like, all right, now I got the same amount as you.
41:31And then I hit my second one.
41:32I was like, now you can't say that anymore.
41:34I got more than you.
41:35And he always says it takes one to be a homerun hitter.
41:37And so it's always fun to kind of mess around with that.
41:39But, yeah, it's he knows my swing.
41:41He knows when things are a little bit out of whack.
41:43And so we just it's good to have him there.
41:47Oh, lo siento.
41:48No te vi allí.
41:49Simbre.
41:50¿Qué tan bajo?
41:51¿Puedo llegar?
42:14Hey, everyone.
42:15I'm Kate Maniscalco.
42:16We are here with Edwin Díaz for Game Day Relief presented by GEICO.
42:19Edwin, how are you feeling today?
42:20Good.
42:20How long does it take for, like, your body to come down after the adrenaline?
42:28Like, what time are you going to sleep at night?
42:29I like to watch TV.
42:31Okay.
42:31That's how we calm down.
42:32Yeah, I come down watching all the games around the country.
42:36Like, I like to MOB Network and start watching Quick Preach.
42:39Oh, I love that.
42:40Yeah.
42:40Okay, a nice recap.
42:42Oh, my gosh.
42:42That's awesome.
42:42Yeah, the recaps and as soon as the show is done, I just turn off the TV and try to go to sleep.
42:51Bueno, Edwin, mírala ahora.
42:53Este es tu señal.
42:54Hora de ir a la cama, amigo.
42:56Gracias por vernos.
42:57Nos vemos la próxima vez.
42:59How about the leadoff guy tonight in the Seam Union is getting that opportunity.
43:02This ball is out of here.
43:05Oh, my goodness.
43:06Nothing like a leadoff full run.
43:08Hatch gonna kiss the sky and fly away.
43:11Braves win nine in a row.
43:13Jacob Young does it again.
43:15This is just incredible.
43:17Strikeout number 200 on the season for Freddie Peralta.
43:20It's a walk-off.
43:22The San Diego Padres are headed back to the postseason in 2025.
43:26The party is on in San Diego.
