NI Chamber and Queen’s University Belfast have announced a landmark strategic partnership designed to strengthen collaboration between business and academia in support of sustainable economic growth.

This new partnership will see two of Northern Ireland’s most influential institutions combine their expertise, networks, and insights to create new opportunities for innovation, investment, and international engagement. By working more closely together, NI Chamber, Queen’s University and Queen’s Business School aim to better align the needs of industry with world-class research and teaching, supporting Northern Ireland’s global ambitions.

As part of the partnership, the organisations will produce a Quarterly Business Survey, offering real-time insights into the challenges and opportunities facing firms across Northern Ireland. Drawing on the combined strengths of NI Chamber’s extensive business membership and Queen’s University’s academic expertise, the survey will provide policymakers, investors, and business leaders with robust, evidence-based analysis to inform decision-making.

00:05Queen's Business School and NI Chamber. It's really really important because
00:08we're both working to support skills development, to support innovation and
00:13to support economic growth here in Northern Ireland.
00:16Both organisations have a long and prestigious history. A history of making significant economic change for the better in Northern Ireland.
00:23Through this new partnership Queen's and Northern Ireland Chamber will be taking
00:27some really important key initiatives forward together. That includes a quarterly
00:32business insight survey which really tells us some real-time information about
00:37how our businesses are feeling about their future, their future growth and the
00:42economic growth here in Northern Ireland as well.
00:45Queen's delivers enormous economic impact every year. Our economic impact is more than
00:503.3 billion pounds. We really want to maximise the impact of that. To do that we
00:56need to work in partnership with business. Queen's is obviously a world-class

01:04innovation and also nurtures our talent here, our young people and our post-brads etc
01:09to get the jobs of the future. So that's really important that we create
01:14the ecosystem and the collaboration between academia and the business
01:18community here in Northern Ireland so we can support the economy to thrive in the future.
01:23Working together makes real sense because it drives synergy across both
01:27organisations that can deliver a step change for our economy.
