00:00I'd just like to start by asking for your reaction to these latest announcements,
00:04this growing list of countries that's recognizing a Palestinian state.
00:09How meaningful is this? How significant is this? What does it change?
00:15Thank you for having me. Of course, this is very significant,
00:20especially coming from the United Kingdom, the very country that created the Balfour Declaration
00:25and that created the colonial state of Israel in 1948, which resulted to the ethnic cleansing of 70 percent of Palestine.
00:33To come to recognize the Palestinian state today is a significant gesture that recognizes the Palestinian suffering
00:41and their right to self-determination.
00:43This global recognition is a message by the world to tell the United States to tell Israel
00:48that they cannot no longer tolerate the ongoing genocide in Gaza and occupation and the colonial settlements.
00:54And particularly the annexation plans by the extremist far-right government of Israel.
01:00So this is a recognition, recognize the Palestinian rights, consolidate the two-state solution
01:04and push forward toward a peaceful process that respects Palestinian rights
01:09and will end this misery going on in Palestine.
01:13Of course, that recognition demands more actions and translation to that recognition
01:20to embody the Palestinian state on the ground.
01:22And that requires, you know, a global force and a global pressure in order to apply these resolutions,
01:33to apply the two-state solution and to enforce it upon Israel.
01:36Because frankly, Israel would don't want peace at all and they are after a greater Israel.
