00:00Listen, we all expected a bit of a high-scoring game last night
00:03between Detroit and Baltimore, and overbetters absolutely crushed it.
00:09Might have been the rocking chair play of the day,
00:13as they did end up with 68 points after all there, Adam.
00:17I think it closed at 52.5, 53, one of the higher totals we have seen thus far
00:23in three weeks in the NFL season.
00:26But it was how they went about getting those points,
00:30and for Detroit, it was all about the running game.
00:34We expect Baltimore to score its points because they've already scored, what,
00:3940 points or plus in the first two games of the season.
00:43They only got 30 last night, but a big reason why is, well, time of possession as well.
00:48When you can run the ball as well as they did Detroit,
00:52218 yards between Gibbs and Montgomery last night and four scores,
00:57they had a 98 and a 96-yard touchdown drive in that game, chewing up a ton of clock.
01:05You just basically ran out of time if you are the Baltimore Ravens
01:09because you couldn't get off the field.
01:12Very impressive win for Detroit.
01:14Maybe some red flags now for the Ravens?
01:16I think a bunch of red flags for the Ravens,
01:21and they come on both sides of the football, quite frankly.
01:23We alluded to it earlier defensively, Joe.
01:25This is a team that, again, just can't get off the field when it needs to.
01:29You mentioned those pair of 95-plus-yard drives,
01:33first time that it happened in a single game in the NFL since the 2021 season,
01:38when, ironically, my Patriots, a team that had no offense to speak of at that time,
01:43because that was, remember, post-Tom Brady, even post-Cam Newton,
01:46that was the Mac Jones era to begin things.
01:49They did it, and we hadn't seen it since.
01:51This team, this Ravens team here is, I mean, it's alarming how bad they are
01:57when they need to be great.
01:59You see, again, a 15-point lead against Buffalo back in week one
02:04evaporate in the final five minutes of the game.
02:07And here in this game, at home, no less,
02:09against a very good Lions team that, you know, has been, I guess, a little up and down.
02:15Don't forget, you know, they entered this season two new coordinators,
02:18offensive and defensive, and there were so many question marks around that.
02:22Looked terrible, both sides of the ball, in week one to open up the season
02:26against Green Bay, and it's like, oh, man, this is the team that we're investing in.
02:31Maybe losing Ben Johnson, losing Aaron Glenn.
02:34This is going to be a real problem.
02:36They go out, obviously, in kind of that revenge game with Ben Johnson,
02:40and they blow doors, but part of you says, well, it's the Bears.
02:44You know, how much can we really take from that?
02:46They got a real opponent.
02:47Next time around, let's see what they do.
02:49And you see, I'm sure it wasn't a great night for the books,
02:52because you saw just about, you know, or I'm sure it was a good night, pardon me,
02:57because you saw so many people on the Ravens, not only to win,
03:00Moneyline Parleys, that type of thing.
03:02Hopefully people didn't go near them in Survivor, but people, without hesitation,
03:06taking them to cover the four and a half points as the line climbed throughout the week,
03:11even getting to five, five and a half.
03:13And, you know, there was Detroit just never out of this game, oftentimes leading this game.
03:20Baltimore goes up a touchdown coming out of the half, and you think, all right,
03:23maybe the Ravens are going to right the ship.
03:25And then, boom, we're tied again.
03:27Here comes the fourth quarter, and once again, it's Baltimore's inability to get a key defensive stop.
03:3417-9, the Ravens were outscored in that fourth quarter.
03:38Part of it, I guess you can look at and say, again, commend Dan Campbell for the wheelbarrow stones
03:45that he's walking around with there, with going forward on fourth and two,
03:49with a 20-yard pass, Jared Goff to Amon Ross St. Brown, converting that,
03:54and keeping that drive alive late, I mean, hell of a job.
03:57But the Ravens, to me, as much as a gigantic red flag as the defense is,
04:04offensively, offensively, Joe, Derrick Henry, this is now three fumbles,
04:09two very crucial ones in as many games, you know, two of those late in the fourth quarter
04:13that one of them absolutely alters the impact against Buffalo.
04:17This one very well may have been as well.
04:20When you're trailing by a touchdown, you fumble the ball, Lions come back down,
04:24they score to go up two touchdowns, you get an opportunity again.
04:27Obviously, you narrow the gap, but even still, you're done, you're out of it.
04:31He's not running well, only has roughly 75 rushing yards the last two weeks combined.
04:37And Lamar Jackson, with that offensive line, was under absurd amounts of pressure late in that game.
04:43They were, we remember earlier on in the contest, their first and goal from inside the five,
04:52get to second and goal from the two, four downs, failed to score that touchdown at that point in time,
04:59including Lamar fumbling the ball on fourth down and having to run back and chase it 20 yards
05:04before finally getting tackled and Detroit takes over there.
05:07So, just so many issues for this Ravens team.
05:10A lot of people thought they were going to run away with this conference.
05:14They'll win their division because the division stinks, but here comes another playoff loss early on.
