Kapuso star and former Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition housemate Shuvee Etrata recently joined her third International Coastal Clean-up with members of her fan club, Pangkat Shuvee. In this episode of Kapuso Showbiz News, Shuvee shared the start of her passion for helping the environment and her promise to volunteer work.

00:11If I were to give a specific event in my childhood po

00:15when I was swimming in the island

00:16because I've lived in Bantayan almost all my life

00:19and then I was living alongside the beach

00:22so sobrang lapit ko long po talaga sa dagat

00:25and while I was swimming, may naswim ako na plastic

00:29so I'm also aware na that tourism in our place is very popular

00:37maraming pumupunta ng mga tourists, foreign, local

00:43so I was just concerned na kung ano yung pwede nilang madatan

00:47because sometimes when you go on vacation, you're expecting na

00:50you'll have your rest, you know, you'll rest and ano

00:53so with that certain event na nangyari, I feel like I can do so much

00:58than just being an island girl

00:59you know, as an island girl, I feel like with the coastal areas

01:02I can help clean

01:04and there are also activities there in the island

01:07before, sabantayan po, organizations that I've helped

01:10so, bata pa lang po talaga ako

01:12gusto ko na talaga yung naglilinis sa coastal area

01:16so, siguro ngayon lang

01:18I was just really grateful na nabigyan ako ng Nestlé

01:21ng opportunity to volunteers

01:23because it's a different satisfaction

01:25it's like, it's my guilty pleasure

01:27it's not even, I don't feel pleasure

01:30if I'm buying luxury items

01:32this is my guilty pleasure

01:35this is for me, my happiness

01:37again, the tree planting, I also did it na before

01:40sa isla namin

01:42pero right now talaga

01:43it's just, ano, you know, it's a whole another level

01:47kasi I'm with these viewers out there

01:50I'm like, holding more responsibility now

01:52to actually do great for the community

01:54kasi a lot of people are watching me

01:56so, with that, I'm happy to say

01:59and I'm with Nestlé

02:00I have been with Nestlé for the past three consecutive years

02:04so, I have been helping, volunteering

02:06so, this year, we're gonna do again the tree planting

02:09so, gusto ko lang din

02:11exactly din ako

02:12kasi I'm gonna be with my pangkat

02:13and, um, it's a different feeling that I hope everybody could feel what I feel

02:18it's really a different kind of, um, achievement that you will feel for

02:23once you plant the tree

02:24once you pick up the trash

02:26more than the kapoy, more than the pagod

02:30you will feel na everything is gonna be worth it

02:32I'm up with Spider-Man

02:34with great power comes with great responsibility

02:36like, before, I just thought na

02:40me smiling in TikTok, um, would inspire people

02:45but that's not actually

02:46I know it matters to some fans

02:49you know, you're giving them positive energy

02:51you're giving them a recent smile

02:52just by watching your videos

02:54but, also, when you think about it

02:56the millions of followers that you have

02:59it's gonna make a difference

03:00right now, hindi milyon ang pangkat ko

03:03hindi kami milyon-milyon

03:04pero, merong kami

03:06we are existing

03:07and we're gonna make a difference

03:09no matter how small we are

03:11so, uh, I'm just happy na

03:13ganito po ang nagagawa ko

03:15sa platform ko

03:17and I'm gonna keep doing it po

03:18for the rest of my life
