00:00You gave Hurst a privilege to ask to Ferdi but also to Brian Gruder as well.
00:05Change it around, are you happy with all your options going forward this season at the moment?
00:09Not playing Dani, and how did you think that sort of went for you?
00:14I think it went good also how Dani came into the game,
00:19so he immediately affected the game, he played a good game,
00:21that's exactly what we demand from him.
00:24He was a threat for the opponent, he had some chances,
00:28so overall the boys who started, they made it quite well,
00:32the boys who came in did a good job,
00:35so we have to accept that it's not the result we wanted to have,
00:39and it feels a little bit not great,
00:42but overall when you focus on the performance and all small little things,
00:46then I saw a lot of positives.
00:48We've got to switch to League Cup actually in midweek,
00:51how important is this game particularly to try and push deep in that competition?
00:55You've always talked about trying to win things at the club.
00:58Exactly, that's our responsibility and that's also an opportunity for us to go there,
01:04to go to the next round.
01:06It's a do-or-die game, it's a 50-50 game, we have to be prepared,
01:10we have to really take it serious because Barnsley,
01:13they play a really good season so far, they did a great job,
01:17they play good football, they have good players,
01:20so we have to be prepared and we want to go to the next round,
01:24but therefore we need the performance on the highest level.
01:27Obviously it was an emphatic win against Oxford,
01:29but how nice is it for you to give opportunities to some of the new signings
01:32like Simas and players like that to get the minutes
01:36because they might be frustrated not getting too much at the moment?
01:39I think it's very important that everyone understands and accepts this role,
01:43of course they can be disappointed but it's very important that everyone knows
01:48there will be the time, there will be the opportunity to get some game minutes
01:52and now on Tuesday of course there might be some changes
01:55but I see it more as an opportunity and I won't give just chances to players,
02:01only to give chances to players.
02:03I think the players who will play at Tuesday they deserve to play
02:06because they work hard in training, they show good actions in training
02:10and that's what we try to go for, to put the best available team
02:16with the guys who train really hard, the guys who deserve to play on the pitch.
02:22How heavily are you going to retain the win?
02:27We have to see how many players came away with some issues,
02:32how sharp they look tomorrow and on Monday,
02:35and then we have to make a decision, I can't say it.
02:38Do you think there's added motivation in the Caravan Cup,
02:41the Palace within the FA Cup last year,
02:43do you think the Brighton with the trophy is a big thing for you?
02:47For sure, it's what the fans are dreaming of
02:51and therefore I think we need to give everything for our fans,
02:55for our supporters.
02:57Like you said, we saw it last season that there's always a chance to win a cup,
03:01of course in some moments you need a bit of luck,
03:03in some moments you need the right teams you face.
03:07We are in good shape, we look good,
03:10we always have a chance to win something
03:13and therefore we need to regenerate now well and then be ready for Barnsley.
03:17And Barnsley is a lower-league team,
03:19you've seen Mac United go out to Brimsby,
03:21so how important do you switch on and are ready not to beat the job?
03:26I just said it, we have to take it really serious because Barnsley,
03:29they play a great season, they have good individual players,
03:31they have a good style of play and therefore we need to prepare well.
03:36Yeah, it's our responsibility to take it serious,
03:40to not underestimate one opponent and that's what we try to do.
03:45Just thinking in terms of closing my feature at Oakwell,
03:49how's Tommy Watson setting in training and getting to what you want?
03:53Good, he trains well, he's adapting to the intensity,
03:58he seems to be in a good shape so it's just step by step,
04:03it's the same for Costoulos, it's the same for Stefanos,
04:07they're all very young players with high potential
04:09and in some moments we need to prepare them well
04:13so when they come into the game then they're ready.
04:16I think we saw it with Stefano that he had his first chance last weekend
04:21against Bournemouth and now he will get another chance in the Cup
04:25and then it's about them, it's about showing that they're ready in every training session,
04:31it's about showing in the game time they get, for example,
04:35against Barnsley that they're ready for the Premier League
04:37and then I'm sure they will be important faster in the season.
04:41Just ask about Yassine Fajari,
04:45there's a lot of really exciting Swedish talent that the Premier League fans are well aware of,
04:50he's probably someone that the wider Premier League fans don't know as much about,
04:55can you tell us a bit about his development?
04:59Yeah, great development so far, he proves it since day one,
05:05since I worked with him that he really wants to improve badly,
05:10he comes every day on the training ground and tries to be his best version
05:15and like this you get better, like this you get the chance to play
05:18and every time he plays he gives great effort.
05:21Today he scored a goal, he gets more threat in the opponent's box,
05:27he scored also a goal for his Sweden national team,
05:31so overall he's a quick learner, he's a great personality,
05:35he always asks for the ball, he never hides, he takes responsibility
05:39and therefore I'm really happy with him.
05:41Thank you very much.
