00:00Well, I want to thank you very much, Lee.
00:03You've been there from the beginning with us, Lee, and we appreciate it.
00:07Nobody can sing that song like Lee Greenwood.
00:10Thank you very much, Lee, very much for being here.
00:16And his voice has not changed, you know?
00:19Pretty amazing.
00:21And a special thank you to Erica,
00:23because today America is a nation in grief, a nation in shock,
00:31and a nation in mourning.
00:34Less than two weeks ago, our country was robbed
00:37of one of the brightest lights of our times,
00:41a giant of its generation,
00:43and above all, a devoted husband, father, son,
00:47Christian, and patriot.
00:49Charles James Kirk
00:52was heinously murdered
00:56by a radicalized, cold-blooded monster
00:58for speaking the truth
01:00that was in his heart.
01:04He was violently killed
01:05because he spoke for freedom and justice,
01:08for God and country,
01:10for reason and for common sense.
01:14He was assassinated
01:15because he lived bravely.
01:17He lived boldly,
01:19and he argued brilliantly
01:21without apology.
01:24He did what was right for our nation.
01:29And so, on that terrible day,
01:31September 10, 2025,
01:33our greatest evangelist
01:36for American liberty
01:37became immortal.
01:40He's a martyr now
01:41for American freedom.
01:44I know I speak for everyone here today
01:48when I say that none of us
01:50will ever forget Charlie Kirk,
01:53and neither now will history.
02:05Because while Charlie has been
02:07reunited with his creator in heaven,
02:10his voice on earth
02:12will echo through
02:13the generations,
02:15and his name will
02:16live forever
02:18in the eternal chronicle
02:19of America's greatest patriots.
02:22He will live forever.
02:25To Charlie's
02:26incredible
02:27and beautiful widow,
02:29Erica,
02:30we know the weight
02:32of this monumental loss
02:33is almost unbearable,
02:35but even in the midst
02:37of heartache
02:38and pain
02:38too great
02:39to even fathom,
02:42you have somehow
02:43found the strength
02:44and deep faith
02:45to be a comfort
02:47to millions
02:47and millions
02:48of people.
02:50And thank you
02:51very much, Erica.
02:52Thank you very much.
03:02Today,
03:02an entire nation
03:03wraps its loving arms
03:04around you
03:05and beautiful children.
03:07We share
03:08in your immense
03:10and overwhelming sorrow
03:11and we vow
03:12that we will do
03:13everything we can
03:14to ensure
03:15that your children
03:15grow up in a land
03:17where their father
03:18is honored
03:18and revered
03:20as a great
03:21American hero.
03:22That's what he is.
03:29To Charlie's parents
03:31who lost
03:31their beloved son,
03:32and to the entire
03:35Kirk family,
03:36we know that
03:36no words
03:37could ever be enough
03:38to fill the void
03:39he leaves behind.
03:41That's a void
03:42that just can't be filled.
03:44But I hope
03:45the extraordinary
03:45outpouring of emotion
03:47over these past
03:4911 days
03:49has comforted you
03:50with the knowledge
03:51that your son
03:52brought more good
03:53and love
03:53into this world
03:54in his 31 short years
03:56than most people,
03:57even very,
03:59very successful people
04:00can bring
04:02in a lifetime.
04:09Charlie Kirk
04:10loved America
04:11with everything he had.
04:13And as we can see
04:14so clearly today,
04:15America loved
04:16Charlie Kirk.
04:18And he could always
04:28draw a big crowd.
04:31Look at this today.
04:32Look at what's gone on.
04:34This is a big crowd.
04:35Here today we have
04:42the Vice President
04:43of the United States,
04:45J.D. Vance.
04:46We have the Speaker
04:47of the U.S.
04:48House of Representatives,
04:50Mike Johnson.
04:52We have countless members
04:53of the United States Senate,
04:55and I'm sorry
04:55I'm not going to introduce you,
04:57but I'll be up here.
04:58They're all over the place.
05:00And likewise,
05:01the House of Representatives.
05:03They're all over
05:03this big stadium.
05:06This is not an arena.
05:07This is a stadium.
05:10A great cabinet
05:10and this stadium
05:12packed with
05:13rafters of people,
05:16not to mention
05:17the one
05:18across the street
05:20that also has
05:21tens of thousands
05:23of people.
05:24And they're watching us
05:26on screen right now.
05:29And I'm sorry
05:33we couldn't get you in.
05:35If anybody would like
05:36to give up your seat,
05:37please walk across
05:38this train.
05:40But this is like
05:42an old-time revival,
05:44isn't it?
05:44An old-time revival.
05:51For millions of Americans,
05:53especially young people,
05:55it is agonizing
05:56and unthinkable
05:57to say goodbye
05:58to a patriot
05:59whose heart still
06:00had so much to give
06:02and so much.
06:04Raised in the suburbs
06:05of Chicago,
06:07Charlie was filled
06:08with the patriotic spirit
06:09from his youth
06:10and he was an all-American
06:12in everything he did.
06:14And one of the last things
06:15he said to me
06:15is,
06:17please, sir,
06:18save Chicago.
06:20We're going to do that.
06:21We're going to save Chicago
06:22from horrible crime.
06:29In high school,
06:31he was the quarterback
06:33of the football team
06:34and the captain
06:35of the basketball team.
06:36He was a good athlete.
06:37A lot of people
06:38don't know that
06:38about Charlie.
06:40He was an Eagle Scout
06:42who spent his school
06:43lunch breaks
06:43listening to another
06:44champion for liberty.
06:46somebody that he
06:48greatly admired,
06:50Rush Limbaugh.
06:58But what was
06:59even more important
07:00to Charlie
07:00than politics
07:01and service
07:02was the choice
07:03he made
07:04in the fifth grade
07:05which he called
07:07the most important
07:07decision of his life
07:08to become
07:09a Christian
07:10and a follower
07:11of his savior,
07:13Jesus Christ.
07:16inspired by faith
07:24and his love
07:24of freedom,
07:26Charlie did something
07:27remarkable
07:27when he was just
07:2818 years old
07:30on the advice
07:31of a mentor
07:32who told him
07:33to put off
07:34going to college
07:35because he was
07:35doing so well.
07:37He devoted his life
07:38to converting
07:39young people
07:40to the conservative
07:42cause.
07:43How did he do?
07:43Take a look.
07:44How did he do?
07:46In 2012,
07:52two days after
07:52graduating high school
07:54and with just
07:55$1,800
07:56in his pocket,
07:58the young man
07:58from Illinois
07:59who no one
08:01had ever heard of
08:02started an organization
08:04whose grand ambitions
08:05were captured
08:06in its name,
08:09Turning Point USA.
08:10Great name.
08:11And I have a feeling
08:17it's going to be
08:18bigger and better
08:19than ever before.
08:20Does that make sense?
08:21It's going to be
08:22bigger and better
08:23than ever before.
08:24Look at what's happening.
08:30Twelve years ago,
08:31Charlie walked
08:32onto his first
08:33college campus,
08:34the very liberal
08:35University of Wisconsin
08:37at Madison.
08:39He set up a card table
08:41and put up a sign
08:42with three words,
08:44Big Government Sucks.
08:46Could you believe that?
08:46That's Charlie.
08:48That day, Charlie
08:49talked to every student
08:51who approached him,
08:53most of whom
08:53were probably
08:55quite a bit older
08:56than he was.
08:57Finally, after many
08:59hours, he found
09:00the first ever
09:01Turning Point
09:01chapter leader.
09:04His first year
09:05out of high school,
09:06Charlie traveled
09:07300 days raising money
09:08and taking his message
09:10to campuses
09:11all over the country.
09:13He lived out
09:14of his parents' basement
09:16and they actually
09:18loved having him there.
09:19They loved Charlie.
09:21Everybody loved Charlie.
09:24And on the couches
09:26of friends and supporters,
09:28he lived off couches
09:29for two years,
09:31three years,
09:32then life started
09:33getting a little bit
09:34different.
09:35But he was always
09:36the same.
09:37For five years,
09:38he refused to take
09:39a paycheck,
09:40but day after day,
09:42he worked from
09:435 a.m. in the morning
09:44till 11 p.m.
09:47in the evening,
09:48always.
09:49His staff remembers
09:50that he wore
09:51Walmart jeans
09:52and T-shirts
09:53from the Goodwill store.
09:56Remember the Goodwill store?
09:59It wasn't easy,
10:00but Charlie wasn't
10:01in it for money at all.
10:03Never has been.
10:04Money was never his thing.
10:06He was always in it
10:07for the mission.
10:09As he liked to say,
10:11even back then,
10:12we have a country to save.
10:15Just what he did.
10:16He'd call me all the time,
10:18sir,
10:18we have our country to save.
10:20I said,
10:21Charlie,
10:21thanks very much
10:22for telling me that.
10:23I appreciate it.
10:25Charlie volunteered
10:26for my 2016 campaign
10:29and traveled the nation
10:30with my son Don
10:33and Eric.
10:36I got to know him
10:37very well
10:38and saw immediately
10:39that Charlie
10:40was actually
10:42a master builder,
10:43master builder of people.
10:44It was Charlie
10:46who first started
10:47organizing young
10:48black conservatives
10:49hungry for support
10:51and leadership.
10:52It was Charlie
10:53who stood up
10:54for persecuted Christians
10:56and Jews
10:57on college campuses.
10:59It was Charlie
11:00who helped bring
11:01online censorship,
11:03free speech,
11:03and cancel culture
11:05to the fore
11:06of our political debate.
11:08He was right up there
11:09with me.
11:11It was Charlie
11:11who helped unite
11:13MAGA
11:13and you know
11:16what M-A-H-A is?
11:18That's right.
11:18Make America
11:20healthy again.
11:22And tomorrow
11:23we're going to have
11:23one of the biggest
11:24announcements
11:26really medically
11:27I think
11:28in the history
11:29of our country.
11:30We're going to be
11:30doing it with
11:31Bobby
11:32and Oz
11:34and all of
11:35the professionals.
11:36I think you're
11:36going to find it
11:37to be amazing.
11:40I think we found
11:41an answer
11:41to autism.
11:43How about that?
11:44Autism tomorrow
11:45we're going to be
11:47talking
11:47in the Oval Office
11:49in the White House
11:50about autism,
11:54how it happens
11:56so we won't let
11:57it happen anymore
11:58and how to get
12:01at least somewhat
12:03better
12:04when you have it
12:06so that parents
12:07can help their child,
12:08their beautiful child.
12:09that's a big one.
12:11I've been
12:11bugging
12:14everybody over there
12:16get the answer
12:17to that.
12:20You know
12:2020 years ago
12:231 in 10,000
12:26were born with autism.
12:3020 years ago
12:31the most recent survey
12:33says
12:331 in 12.
12:36how bad is that
12:38that's for young
12:41boys
12:42baby boys
12:43but also
12:44girls
12:45a little bit
12:46better
12:47it's about
12:471 in 20
12:48but we can't
12:50because obviously
12:51there was something
12:51really wrong
12:52and we think
12:54we know what that is
12:55it's going to be
12:56I think it's going to be
12:57one of the most
12:58important news conferences
12:59I'll ever have
13:00and I look so
13:01forward to it
13:02and you know
13:09who else
13:10looked forward to it
13:11because he knew
13:11I'd tell him a little bit
13:12about what was going on
13:13was Charlie
13:15he would have been
13:15front row center
13:16believe me
13:17we'll be missing him
13:18tomorrow
13:19it was such a big deal
13:20for him too
13:21he brought together
13:23Donald Trump
13:25Bobby Kennedy
13:27right here in the
13:29great state of Arizona
13:31one year ago
13:32remember that
13:33what a
13:33what a night
13:34what a day
13:35that was
13:35and it was Charlie
13:39who was among
13:40the first to speak
13:41to me about
13:42a man from Ohio
13:44by the name of
13:46J.D. Vince
13:47have you ever heard
13:47of him
13:48he's done a good job
13:50but Charlie would
13:56often call me
13:57sometimes the night
13:59before a big event
14:00the other side
14:03of the country
14:03and he'd ask me
14:06and say
14:06do you think you
14:08could come and speak
14:09at the event
14:10the following day
14:11right
14:12I'd say Charlie
14:13I'd give me a
14:14I'm the president
14:14of the United States
14:16you want me to travel
14:18four hours by plane
14:20and you know
14:21sometimes I did it
14:22he was a very
14:23good guy
14:24he was a very
14:25convincing guy
14:26he didn't stop
14:27but he would ask
14:28for things like that
14:29sir could you be
14:29tomorrow in California
14:31I said Charlie
14:33give me a break
14:33please
14:34he just wouldn't
14:36stop
14:37and he succeeded
14:38but I almost
14:40always went
14:40because
14:41you never wanted
14:42to
14:43let Charlie down
14:45he worked so hard
14:46you just didn't
14:47want to let him down
14:48I felt guilty
14:48he'd make me feel
14:49very guilty
14:50as president
14:52many people ask me
14:54for things
14:54but Charlie was
14:55one of the few
14:56who always gave
14:57more than he took
14:58he was a giver
15:00much more than a taker
15:02and no matter how big
15:10Charlie became
15:11no one was too small
15:12for him to notice
15:13he was
15:14good to everybody
15:15didn't matter
15:16several years ago
15:18a fourth grader
15:19asked Charlie
15:19to appear
15:20on his podcast
15:21which was probably
15:23only watched
15:23by the parents
15:24of that fourth grader
15:26and Charlie
15:27who was actually
15:29pretty hot at the time
15:30to be honest
15:30he agreed
15:32and the boy
15:33asked for advice
15:35Charlie replied
15:36the left
15:38the left
15:39I call it
15:40the radical left
15:41I call it
15:41sometimes
15:42the radical left
15:43lunatics
15:44but Charlie
15:46didn't say that
15:47he called it
15:47the left
15:48he was probably
15:50right
15:51but
15:51I can't help
15:52I can't help
15:55so he said
16:00the left
16:00radical left
16:01lunatics
16:02may have all
16:03the money in the world
16:05but they could never
16:05outwork me
16:06I will wake up
16:08as early as I need to
16:10about himself
16:10I will stay up
16:11as late as I need to
16:13and I will never
16:13stop fighting
16:14for our country
16:15and he did this
16:17until his
16:18dying breath
16:19that's what he was doing
16:20that's what he was doing
16:23think of it
16:23wow
16:25what a horrible
16:29moment
16:29I was in the Oval Office
16:30when I heard
16:31they came in
16:32and I
16:32it was like
16:33a surreal experience
16:34a terrible terrible
16:35I had some very big people
16:37in the Oval Office
16:38and I was
16:40in the midst
16:41of a very important
16:42conversation
16:43for our country
16:43big people
16:44the biggest
16:45and I said
16:47you have to leave now
16:48when they told me that
16:50they told me in front
16:51of a group
16:51of very powerful
16:53people
16:53I said
16:54you have to leave now
16:55right now
16:55please
16:56right now
16:57you have to leave
16:59go
17:00by his own
17:03determination
17:03and skill
17:04Charlie Kirk
17:05built turning point
17:06from his humble
17:07beginnings
17:09the beginnings
17:10that nobody believed
17:11could ever end up
17:11something like this
17:12into a great movement
17:14and a juggernaut
17:15of American politics
17:16and you know
17:17we have a massive stadium
17:18loaded up with people
17:19but he got tremendous crowds
17:21before he had this kind
17:24of horrible news
17:26and before we had to hear
17:27what happened so terribly
17:29he delivered more than
17:31250 speeches a year
17:33at over 200 colleges
17:35and universities
17:37and that was
17:38at a time when it was
17:41not really
17:42vogue
17:43to go to colleges
17:45and universities
17:46if you were
17:47a conservative
17:48it really took
17:49great courage
17:50and we used to talk
17:52and I said
17:52you know
17:53I think they're much more
17:54conservative than we know
17:55and he agreed
17:55but it just wasn't
17:57something that was happening
17:58because the radical left
17:59would do very bad things
18:01very dangerous things
18:02but Charlie set up chapters
18:05on 2,200 campuses
18:07and spoke at more than
18:081,000 churches
18:11he launched a podcast
18:14and radio show
18:15that grew to an audience
18:17of 1 million Americans a day
18:19one of the bigger
18:20shows on radio
18:22and Charlie
18:25didn't just bring young people
18:27into the movement
18:28all of a sudden
18:29it started to grow
18:30by leaps and bounds
18:31by 2024
18:32we want more young people
18:34than any Republican candidate
18:36in the history of our country
18:37including for the first time
18:39a majority of males under 30
18:42can you believe it
18:44remember when Republican
18:49presidential candidates
18:50would get 4%
18:52no we did unbelievably
18:54with young people
18:56and he was a big big factor
18:59unbelievable
19:00but he made me work for it
19:02sir you have to make
19:03a speech here
19:03you have to make
19:04a speech there
19:05but we did it
19:07and we won
19:07and our country
19:09is doing unbelievably well now
19:11we had a country
19:13that was dead
19:15one year ago
19:16and now we have
19:17the hottest country
19:18anywhere in the world
19:19and Charlie
19:20helped us make it that
19:23one of
19:24one of the great people
19:26but through it all
19:30the core of
19:31Charlie's message
19:32message
19:32and his basic method
19:34never changed
19:35it never really changed
19:36he stayed the same person
19:37also
19:38at every campus event
19:39Charlie asked the people
19:41who disagreed with him
19:42to come forward
19:43and instead of silencing them
19:45he handed them
19:46a microphone
19:47and let them speak
19:48and he'd convinced
19:50so many of them
19:51it was a pretty amazing
19:52thing to watch
19:53actually
19:54shortly before Charlie
19:55arrived on campus
19:57the day he was assassinated
19:58the staff member
19:59texted him
20:00that there were many
20:01critics and students
20:02who were opposed
20:03to his views
20:04and rather strenuously
20:06in the crowd
20:07and that actually
20:09made him feel good
20:10because he
20:10he wanted to convince them
20:12he understood
20:13he really did
20:14he understood
20:14what was right
20:15and he was right
20:16about that
20:16a lot of it
20:18was based on common sense
20:19by the way
20:20Charlie wrote back
20:22to the staff member
20:24saying I'm not here
20:26to fight them
20:27I want to
20:28know them
20:29and love them
20:30and I want to reach them
20:31and try and lead them
20:33into a great way
20:35of life in our country
20:36in that private moment
20:38on his dying day
20:40we find everything
20:41we need to know
20:42about who Charlie Kirk
20:44truly was
20:45he was a missionary
20:46with a noble spirit
20:47and a great great purpose
20:50he did not hate
20:52his opponents
20:52he wanted the best for them
20:56that's where I disagreed
20:57with Charlie
20:57I hate my opponent
21:00and I don't want
21:02the best for them
21:03I'm sorry
21:03I am sorry Erica
21:05but now Erica
21:07can talk to me
21:08and the whole group
21:09and maybe they can
21:09convince me
21:10that that's not right
21:11but I can't stand
21:12my opponent
21:13Charlie's angry
21:18looking down
21:18he's angry at me now
21:19he wasn't interested
21:22in demonizing anyone
21:23he was interested
21:24in persuading everyone
21:26to the ideas
21:28and principles
21:29he believed
21:30were good
21:30right and true
21:31before each appearance
21:34he prayed
21:35these words
21:36God use me
21:38for your will
21:39always said
21:40the same thing
21:40use me for your will
21:42and that is exactly
21:49what God did
21:50when you think
21:51that's exactly
21:52what he did
21:52the more success
21:54Charlie had
21:55and he was getting
21:55more and more successful
21:57the more dangerous
21:59his mission became
22:00on campuses
22:02all over the country
22:03his quest
22:03for open dialogue
22:04was met with
22:05menacing hate
22:08there were bomb threats
22:10pulled fire alarms
22:12and countless
22:13rage filled radicals
22:15who tried to
22:16shout him down
22:16it was nasty
22:17I used to say
22:19Charlie
22:19this is nasty stuff
22:20you're doing
22:21at one event
22:23police had to
22:24build barricades
22:25to protect students
22:26from an angry mob
22:28of thugs
22:29many of these people
22:31by the way
22:31are paid a lot of money
22:32to do this
22:33they're agitators
22:34they're paid agitators
22:35remember that
22:36when you see
22:37they all have
22:37the same beautifully
22:38printed sign
22:39every sign is identical
22:41comes out of a
22:42top level print shop
22:44that's not the signs
22:46that are made
22:46in somebody's basement
22:47those are paid for
22:49by very bad people
22:51and hopefully
22:52we're going to be
22:52finding out
22:53through the DOJ
22:54who those people are
22:55at another college
23:02Antifa Terrace
23:04shattered windows
23:05threw rocks
23:06and tried to storm
23:07the building
23:07where Charlie
23:08was speaking
23:09it was a really
23:11bad one
23:11often dozens
23:12of police officers
23:13were needed
23:14to prevent
23:14left-wing violence
23:16and the violence
23:18comes largely
23:19from the left
23:20you don't hear that
23:22from too many people
23:22do you
23:23and virtually
23:24every day
23:25for years
23:26before he was murdered
23:28Charlie received
23:29these horrible
23:31death threats
23:31people don't know
23:33I used to talk
23:34to him about it
23:34he said
23:35I got some threats
23:36he always felt
23:37that when they
23:38actually made the threat
23:40they were not
23:40the ones to worry
23:41about
23:42the ones to worry
23:42about
23:43the ones that
23:43don't make the threats
23:44I think you know
23:47what I mean
23:47he knew the risk
23:49but he
23:49and I shared
23:51a certain motto
23:52never back down
23:53and never ever surrender
23:54just don't surrender
23:55never back down
23:56he believed in it
23:57so strongly
23:58so strongly
24:00and he's right
24:01he's totally
24:02he's totally right
24:03the radicals
24:05and their allies
24:05in the media
24:06sometimes referred to
24:09as my son said
24:11the fake news media
24:12tried to silence
24:14Charlie for
24:15a simple reason
24:17because he was winning
24:19and he was winning big
24:20he was taking over
24:21college campuses
24:22colleges that had
24:24in theory
24:26only very liberal
24:27or as they like to say
24:28progressive
24:28I call them liberal
24:29but they like to call themselves
24:32because such a beautiful word
24:33progressive
24:33they're the opposite of progressive
24:35if you think about it
24:36but they were
24:37really nasty
24:39and he would go into
24:40these colleges
24:41all of a sudden
24:42within two years
24:43three years
24:43they turned into bastions
24:44of conservatism
24:46it was really
24:46quite amazing to see
24:48they lied about him
24:50because they did not
24:51want you to listen to him
24:53or to learn from him
24:54because what he was
24:55talking about
24:56and even preaching
24:57made so much sense
24:59everywhere he went
25:00he won the debates
25:02he won the hearts
25:03he won the minds
25:03and yes
25:04he won the elections
25:05for people
25:05he helped us
25:06he helped other people
25:07we won the biggest election
25:09in the history of our country
25:10I believe
25:11Charlie Kirk
25:19was without a doubt
25:20among the most influential figures
25:22in the most important election
25:24in the history of our country
25:25the election of
25:27oh that beautiful day
25:29November 5th
25:302024
25:31do you remember that day
25:32it was nine months ago
25:34what a day that was
25:38I mean
25:42we had a pretty good day
25:43in the first one
25:44and I must tell you
25:45on the second one
25:46we had a phenomenal day
25:48but a lot of bad things happened
25:50and now that's not even questioned
25:53they cheated like dogs
25:56but we got them back
25:58didn't we
25:58huh
25:59got them back
26:00but we owe Charlie
26:04a profound and eternal
26:06debt of gratitude
26:07now
26:08just like Charlie
26:10and Erica
26:10made turning point hot
26:12we are
26:14looking at a country
26:15that has the chance
26:16to
26:17attain a level
26:19like never before
26:21tariffs are making us rich again
26:23richer than anybody
26:24ever thought was possible
26:26and the only one challenging them
26:29are
26:30people that hate our country
26:32or foreign countries
26:33that are paying a price
26:34because they did the same thing
26:35to us for years
26:36they took advantage of us
26:38but we're
26:38we're making
26:40money
26:41we're becoming
26:43richer and richer
26:44and we're taking care of our people
26:47better and better
26:48when we do that
26:49and we can take care of other countries
26:50better and better
26:51but
26:51we're doing unbelievably well
26:54the tariffs have really been a hold
26:55the election was big
26:57but the tariffs
26:58because of the election
27:00came in
27:00and remember
27:01other nations do that to us
27:02and Charlie understood that
27:04he saw the money
27:05he saw what was coming into our country
27:08and we can use that
27:09for Medicare
27:09Medicaid
27:10Social Security
27:12all of these things
27:13that we fight so hard for
27:14and that's exactly what's happening
27:17the numbers are incredible
27:19when the news finally came out
27:22on election night last November
27:23that the race was
27:24officially won
27:26came out pretty early in the night
27:27Charlie was live on camera
27:31in that moment
27:32he was overcome with emotion
27:34I've never seen him like this
27:35he was so happy
27:36for a long while
27:38he said nothing
27:39his eyes were filled with tears
27:40and then he buried his face
27:42in his hands
27:44and he started crying
27:45that wasn't the Charlie I knew
27:47but in thinking about it
27:49it actually was the Charlie I knew
27:51because he had a tremendous heart
27:52he just wanted what was good
27:54for our country
27:54and he saw us going
27:55in such a horrible direction
27:57lovingly Eric
27:59and this was so beautiful
28:01Eric put a MAGA hat on
28:04to cover his bowed head
28:07I like that very much
28:08MAGA we love
28:09does everybody love MAGA
28:10make America great again
28:12when Joe Biden used to get up
28:19remember the speeches
28:20we will stop MAGA
28:22we will stop MAGA
28:24you know he could barely
28:25get the words out
28:26we will stop
28:27I said can somebody inform him
28:30that MAGA means
28:31make America great again
28:33how do you say
28:33you're going to stop it
28:34and Charlie understood
28:37that when Charlie
28:38finally looked up
28:39and spoke
28:39he smiled through
28:40the watery eyes
28:41and simply said
28:42I am humbled
28:44by God's grace
28:46that was his statement
28:47that night
28:47I was watching him
28:49I was very impressed
28:51actually
28:51it showed he had
28:54a big heart
28:54every single American
28:56should take a long
28:57hard look
28:58at the twisted soul
29:00and dark spirit
29:01of anyone
29:02who would want
29:03to kill a young man
29:04as good as
29:05Charlie
29:06to kill anybody
29:07but to kill a man
29:09like this
29:09he didn't deserve this
29:10he didn't deserve this
29:12our country
29:12didn't deserve this
29:13and anyone who would
29:14make excuses for it
29:17are just
29:18out of their mind
29:20Charlie's murder
29:22was not just an attack
29:23on one man
29:25or one movement
29:25it was an attack
29:27on our entire nation
29:29that was a horrible attack
29:31on the United States
29:33of America
29:34it was an assault
29:36on our most sacred liberties
29:37and God-given rights
29:38the gun
29:39the gun was pointed
29:39at him
29:40but the bullet
29:41was aimed
29:42at all of us
29:43that bullet
29:43was aimed
29:44at every one of us
29:45indeed Charlie
29:46was killed
29:47for expressing
29:48the very ideas
29:49that virtually
29:49everyone in this arena
29:51and most other places
29:53throughout our country
29:54deeply believed in
29:56but the assassin
29:58failed in his quest
29:59because Charlie's message
30:00has not been silenced
30:02it now
30:03is bigger
30:04and better
30:05and stronger
30:06than ever before
30:07and it's not even close
30:09and it's rare
30:14that such a thing happens
30:16but Charlie is bigger today
30:17than he was
30:18think about it
30:20just two weeks ago
30:22he's bigger today
30:23than he was two weeks ago
30:24now
30:24that may not help
30:26his friends
30:27and loved ones
30:28of which
30:28there are so many
30:30it may not help
30:30Eric and those
30:31beautiful children
30:33who have to suffer
30:34so horribly
30:35through this moment
30:36but they know
30:37it's true
30:38he's bigger now
30:40than ever before
30:41and he's eternal
30:43he's eternal
30:44and I just want to
30:46say we love him
30:47and he's looking down
30:48at us right now
30:49and he's saying
30:50wow
30:50that's a great crowd
30:52he's saying
30:54that's a great crowd
30:55and it's a great crowd
31:01of patriots
31:02but that's why
31:05I will soon
31:05award Charlie
31:06the nation's
31:08highest civilian honor
31:10the presidential
31:11medal of freedom
31:12it's the highest
31:13civilian honor
31:14and we will do
31:28the ceremony
31:28at our beautiful
31:29white house
31:30in a very safe
31:31Washington DC
31:33a place that
31:35Charlie truly revered
31:37yeah
31:38we stopped the crime
31:39in Washington
31:40took 12 days
31:41now you can go
31:43to restaurants
31:44you can walk down
31:45the middle of the street
31:46with your wife
31:47you can have your wife
31:49walk alone down
31:50the middle of the street
31:50she's going to be
31:51in good shape
31:52what a difference
31:53what a difference
31:55good management
31:56really makes
31:57but it's
31:58I'm so proud of that
31:59Washington DC
32:00you know
32:00it's one of the worst
32:01in the nation
32:02in the world
32:03and now it's considered
32:05a very safe city
32:07and it's also
32:08I passed it yesterday
32:09I went through it
32:10and the lawns are good
32:13it's like a different
32:14place
32:15it's like the tents
32:16are gone
32:17the threats are gone
32:18the gangs aren't
32:19there
32:20we got rid of
32:22you know
32:22we took out
32:231500 career criminals
32:251500
32:25if you have
32:27three career criminals
32:28that can make
32:29a big difference
32:30but I'm so proud
32:31of Washington DC
32:33and now we're going
32:34into Memphis
32:34and we'll get that one
32:36straightened out fast
32:37and then we're going
32:38into some others
32:39but we're going to go
32:40to Chicago
32:41and we're going
32:42to have Charlie
32:43very much in mind
32:44when we go
32:44into Chicago
32:45and we'll get that
32:46one straightened out
32:47you have an incompetent
32:48governor who
32:49he thinks it's okay
32:51when 11 people
32:52get murdered
32:53over the weekend
32:53he thinks you don't
32:55have any crime
32:56when 11 people
32:57get murdered
32:58and 28 people
33:00get shot
33:00he says he's got crime
33:02no they
33:03they don't have it
33:04under control
33:05but we'll have it
33:05under control
33:06very quickly
33:07so we're going
33:07to be doing that
33:08and Charlie loved
33:10what we were doing
33:10he was so proud
33:11of what happened
33:12he was there to see it
33:13he's so proud
33:14of what happened
33:14in Washington DC
33:15as you know
33:17the depraved assassin
33:19who planned
33:19and executed
33:20Charlie's killing
33:23has been arrested
33:24and charged
33:25with capital murder
33:26God willing
33:27he will receive
33:28the full and ultimate
33:29punishment
33:30for his horrific
33:31crime
33:32it's a terrible thing
33:33because you can't
33:37let that happen
33:37you can't let that
33:39happen
33:40you can't let it
33:41happen to a country
33:42the department of
33:44justice is also
33:45investigating networks
33:47of radical left
33:48maniacs who fund
33:49organized fuel
33:50and perpetrate
33:52political violence
33:53and we think we know
33:55who many of them are
33:56but law enforcement
33:58can only be the
33:59beginning of our
34:01response to
34:02Charlie's murder
34:03over the last 11
34:05days we have
34:06heard stories
34:07of commentators
34:09influencers
34:10and others
34:10in our society
34:11who greeted
34:12his assassination
34:13with sick approval
34:15excuses
34:16or even
34:17jubilation
34:18you've heard that
34:19so have I
34:20couldn't believe it
34:20some of the
34:21very same people
34:22who spent the
34:23last eight years
34:24trying to sit
34:25in moral judgment
34:26of anyone
34:26who disagreed
34:27with them
34:28about politics
34:29suddenly started
34:30cheering
34:30for a murder
34:31incredible
34:34you know the
34:35names
34:35they're
34:36major losers
34:38by the way
34:39they'll be
34:40that will be
34:41proven out
34:41in a short
34:42period of time
34:43some of the
34:44very people
34:45who call you
34:46a hater
34:46for using
34:47the wrong
34:48pronoun
34:49were filled
34:50with glee
34:50at the killing
34:51of a father
34:52with two
34:53beautiful young
34:54children
34:54and the same
34:56commentators
34:56who this week
34:57are screaming
34:58fascism
34:59over a cancelled
35:00late night tv
35:01show where
35:02the anchor
35:04had no talent
35:05and no ratings
35:06last week
35:08were implying
35:09that Charlie
35:10Kirk
35:10deserved what
35:12happened to him
35:13no side
35:15in American
35:16politics
35:16has a monopoly
35:17on disturbed
35:18or misguided
35:19people
35:20but there's one
35:21part of our
35:22political community
35:23which believes
35:24they have a
35:25monopoly on
35:25truth goodness
35:26and virtue
35:27and concludes
35:27they have also
35:28a monopoly
35:30on power
35:30thought and
35:31speech
35:32well
35:32that's not
35:33happening anymore
35:34we've turned
35:34that corner
35:35very quickly
35:35tragically
35:37atrocities
35:38of this kind
35:38and kind
35:40that we saw
35:41in Utah
35:41of all places
35:42are the
35:43eventual
35:44consequence
35:44of that
35:45kind of
35:45thinking
35:46if speech
35:47is violence
35:48then some
35:49are bound
35:50to conclude
35:50that violence
35:51is justified
35:52to stop
35:53speech
35:53and we're
35:54not going
35:55to let
35:55that be
35:55justified
35:56the tradition
35:57of reason
35:57and open
35:58debate
35:58that Charlie
36:00practiced
36:00is not a
36:01pillar
36:01of our
36:03democracy
36:03in many ways
36:04it's the
36:04basis
36:05of our
36:06entire
36:07society
36:08it's the
36:09right
36:09and
36:10inheritance
36:11of every
36:11free American
36:12the greatest
36:13legacy
36:13of the
36:14enlightenment
36:14and among
36:15the most
36:16treasured
36:16achievements
36:17of
36:17civilization
36:18we will
36:20defend it
36:20at all
36:21costs
36:21and we
36:22will carry
36:22forward
36:23the torch
36:23of liberty
36:24that Charlie
36:24Kirk held
36:25so proud
36:26and so high
36:27he was so
36:28proud
36:28and he did
36:30hold that torch
36:31high
36:31we will never
36:32ever let it
36:33fail
36:33we will never
36:35let it fail
36:36but we're going
36:37to raise it
36:39higher than
36:40ever before
36:41it's going to
36:41be raised
36:42and this is
36:43the beginning
36:43perhaps
36:44it should be
36:45no surprise
36:46that Charlie
36:46who spent his
36:47life speaking
36:48with the
36:48critics of
36:49these traditions
36:49ultimately
36:50became convinced
36:51that we needed
36:52not just a
36:53political
36:54realignment
36:54but also a
36:55spiritual
36:56reawakening
36:57we did
36:57and we have
36:59to bring back
36:59religion to
37:00America
37:01because without
37:02borders
37:02law and order
37:03and religion
37:04you really don't
37:05have a country
37:06anymore
37:06we want
37:07religion brought
37:08back
37:08to America
37:11we want to
37:12bring God
37:12back into
37:13our beautiful
37:14USA like
37:15never before
37:16we want
37:16God back
37:17Charlie would
37:23have been so
37:24pleased to hear
37:24his friends and
37:25colleagues today
37:26giving testimony
37:27and giving glory
37:29to God
37:30within minutes
37:32of the gunshot
37:34in Utah
37:34millions of
37:35Americans
37:35young and old
37:36heard the news
37:37and dropped to
37:38their knees
37:38and started
37:39praying
37:39even many
37:41who rarely
37:42pray to ask
37:42God for a
37:43miracle
37:43please God
37:44save Charlie
37:45but although
37:47Charlie's time
37:48with us
37:49on earth
37:49has ended
37:50those prayers
37:51for a miracle
37:52have already
37:53been answered
37:53look at what's
37:55happening
37:55look at what's
37:57happening
37:57in the days
37:59since Charlie's
37:59death
38:00we have seen
38:01how his legacy
38:02has touched
38:03so many millions
38:04around the world
38:05in Calgary
38:07counted
38:08thousands
38:08gathered
38:09at City Hall
38:10to sing
38:10the American
38:11National Anthem
38:12and raise up
38:13posters
38:14with the name
38:15Charlie Kirk
38:17in Seoul
38:18South Korea
38:19crowds gathered
38:20to wave
38:20American flags
38:21and shout
38:22we are for
38:25Charlie Kirk
38:26his memory
38:27has been
38:28honored
38:28in the streets
38:29of Berlin
38:30Warsaw
38:30Vienna
38:31Sydney
38:31Madrid
38:32London
38:32Tel Aviv
38:33and all
38:34over the
38:34world
38:35so beautiful
38:39to watch
38:39a man
38:43as far away
38:44as rural
38:45Australia
38:46texted a pastor
38:47I'm going to
38:47come to church
38:48tomorrow
38:49for the first
38:50time ever
38:51the pastor
38:52is why is that
38:53the man replied
38:54because of Charlie
38:56Kirk
38:56can you imagine
38:57the lesson of
38:59Charlie's life
39:00is that you
39:00should never
39:01underestimate
39:02what one person
39:03can do
39:04with a good
39:05heart
39:05a righteous
39:06cause
39:07a cheerful
39:08spirit
39:09and the will
39:10to fight
39:11fight
39:11fight
39:12have to fight
39:14we're saving
39:19our country
39:19and Charlie's
39:22a big factor
39:22such a big factor
39:23Charlie Kirk
39:24started with only
39:25an idea
39:26to change minds
39:27on college campuses
39:29and instead
39:30he ended up
39:31with a far
39:32greater achievement
39:33changing history
39:35he changed history
39:36today Charlie Kirk
39:38rests in glory
39:40and heaven
39:41for all eternity
39:42he has gone
39:44from speaking
39:45on campuses
39:45in Wisconsin
39:46to kneeling
39:47at the throne
39:48of God
39:49where he is
39:49right now
39:50we grieve
39:56for the friend
39:58and leader
39:59that we have
40:00lost
40:01but we go forward
40:02strengthened by
40:03his faith
40:04and bolstered
40:05by his courage
40:05and inspired
40:06by his example
40:07to defend
40:08the country
40:09he lived for
40:11for the freedoms
40:13he died for
40:13and the values
40:14in which he so
40:15deeply believed
40:16he believed
40:17in values
40:18that we should
40:19all believe in
40:20Charlie created
40:21something very special
40:23it's called
40:23Turning Point USA
40:24and under the leadership
40:26and love
40:27of Erica
40:28it will become
40:29bigger and better
40:30and stronger
40:31than ever before
40:32so Charlie
40:40we all want
40:41to thank you
