00:00getting readers to want to stand up and cheer, that's really difficult. And so that's usually
00:04what I'm thinking, you know, as I'm approaching the subsequent drafts of a book, when I'm trying
00:09to ask myself with each chapter, is this the best version of this chapter that I can possibly write
00:15is, you know, am I, am I taking the reader on a genuine emotional journey or am I just, you know,
00:21throwing in the fantasy stuff here and there? Because as a reader myself, I find it really
00:26difficult if I'm reading a book that starts to feel like it's really just about being a fantasy
00:31novel and it's not actually kind of digging into what it means to just be a human being enough.
00:36So if I'm not having an emotional response to a scene or chapter, then I worry that a reader won't.
