00:00It's Omarion Hampton of the Chargers
00:02versus Denver and that defense
00:03or Ja'Cory Krosky-Meritt,
00:06Washington, issues with the quarterback
00:09and all kinds of things.
00:10And they have Las Vegas.
00:11Who starts? Who sits?
00:13Yeah, this is tough.
00:14And fantasy pros,
00:15these guys are ranked back-to-back
00:16at RB26 and RB27, respectively.
00:20And look, Omarion Hampton
00:21also falls into this bucket
00:22of these rookie running backs
00:23that are having slow Septembers.
00:26Why? Because you want them,
00:27especially a guy like Hampton,
00:28if you're a playoff team,
00:30to be fresh when we get to January, right?
00:32Because you want to be in the playoffs
00:34and you want to be using
00:35Omarion Hampton there.
00:36So I'm not shocked that the usage is slow.
00:38Omarion Hampton is another buy low.
00:40But I'm going to go with
00:40Ja'Cory Krosky-Meritt here,
00:41despite the fact I think that
00:43Mariota limits his upside
00:44for scoring potential.
00:46I think the split backfield
00:47with Hampton with Najee Harris
00:48against the Denver Broncos
00:50is a tough matchup today.
00:52I think that when you're looking
00:53at Ja'Cory Krosky-Meritt,
00:54there's a morbid curiosity
00:55now that Austin Eckler is out
00:57to see how much of this backfield
00:59does he get in terms of that share, right?
01:01It makes you wonder,
01:02did the commanders regret
01:03that Brian Robinson trade
01:04immediately week two
01:06when they saw that Achilles snap
01:07of Austin Eckler?
01:08Maybe that was a little bit
01:09too much too soon there for them.
01:11But Ja'Cory Krosky-Meritt
01:12has at least the opportunity
01:13to be the guy who's getting
01:16the lion's share of the work.
01:17Chris Rodriguez will work.
01:18There's rumors that
01:19Jeremy McNichols will be the guy
01:21who runs the Austin Eckler role,
01:22but I just don't think
01:23he's going to run
01:24the full gamut of that role.
01:25I'm just not sold on that.
01:27If that was the case,
01:28then they wouldn't have
01:28brought back Eckler this past year.
01:30They would have just gone
01:30with McNichols if he was the guy.
01:32So I think JCM is the play here.
01:35Again, there's a little limitation
01:36in terms of scoring.
01:37Marcus Mariota is not
01:38the greatest here,
01:39so we'll have to be very careful.
01:40But I think JCM gives us
01:42more upside here,
01:44despite the fact both these guys
01:45are in some sort of timeshare.
01:47I think the JCM timeshare
01:49has more upside this week.
01:51All right.
01:51We're taking your start,
01:52sit questions here on FST
01:54with Matt and Joe at SportsGrid
01:55at SportsGrid TV.
01:57Looking at a wide receiver question,
01:59this one coming from
01:59Gulf Shores, Alabama.
02:01Calvin Ridley of Tennessee
02:02has Indianapolis
02:03or Quentin Johnson of the Chargers
02:06again has Denver.
02:07Joe?
02:09Yeah, look, QJ has been
02:10really solid here to start the year.
02:12And I think they finally realized
02:13that just because he looks
02:14like an alpha wide receiver
02:15doesn't mean he plays like one.
02:17And I think that's taken
02:18the league a little while
02:19to figure out.
02:19Like physically,
02:20he looks like an alpha dog
02:21kind of guy.
02:22He looks like that dude,
02:23but he doesn't play that way
02:24style of play wise.
02:25You got to get him moving.
02:27You got to do different things.
02:28You're not just throwing
02:28jump balls up to him
02:29or those big deep balls.
02:31This is not his game, right?
02:32So QJ versus Denver
02:33is not the greatest matchup.
02:35And I know everyone's
02:35been very frustrated
02:36with Calvin Ridley
02:37to start the year.
02:38And rightfully so.
02:38Calvin Ridley has
02:39been slow to start,
02:41but it's also again
02:42against the Denver Broncos
02:43and against the Los Angeles Rams.
02:46Two very good defenses.
02:47This poor rookie quarterback,
02:48Cam Ward,
02:49has gotten off to a
02:49really tough start here
02:51based on the schedule.
02:52I mean,
02:53at Denver
02:54and then at home
02:54against the Rams
02:55and Sean McVay,
02:56that's not the way
02:57a rookie QB
02:57should have to start his career.
02:59So I'm cautiously optimistic
03:00that Calvin Ridley
03:01gets back to work here.
03:02Elec A.O. Manor
03:03has really started to emerge.
03:04That's a player
03:05that we were talking about
03:06two months ago.
03:07And hopefully you were listening
03:08and hopefully even two weeks ago
03:10you were listening
03:10when we said Adam
03:11before anybody else
03:12does on the waiver wire.
03:13But if he's still
03:14floating around there,
03:15please add Elec A.O. Manor
03:16to your team
03:17because I do think
03:18he is the number two target
03:19in this offense already.
03:20I don't think Calvin Ridley
03:21is going away or disappearing.
03:23I think he's had two
03:23really tough matchups
03:24to start the year.
03:25I think things get
03:26a little bit better
03:27in Indianapolis.
03:28But to give credit
03:29to Indianapolis too,
03:30that defense is improved.
03:32Lou Anarumo came over.
03:33It was a really good
03:34defensive coordinator
03:35from the Bengals.
03:36He just got a bad shake there
03:39because all the guys
03:40around that defense
03:41over years left
03:42or got hurt.
03:43And he's a really good
03:45coordinator.
03:45And I think he's done
03:46a really good job
03:46these first couple weeks
03:47here for Indianapolis.
03:48But Ridley to me
03:49still gets a start
03:50of a QJ
03:50despite the sexy play
03:52of QJ to start the season.
