WATCH: Celebrations as Wodonga Raiders A grade netball team takes out the top spot on grand final day.
Transcript
00:00Your full-time, your 8th grade, I'm in Zamari Premiers for 2025 are the Wodonga Raiders and they are celebrating Pigeons.
00:11Not their day today, we spoke about it pre-game that it would be the team that got the jump, otherwise it was going to stay a goal here.
00:19And then Mackenzie House just comes to find Jodie House as they embrace Tamara Matthews, Minna Lamb.
00:27What a game. Amazing. Had a bit in it, didn't it?
00:29Yeah, it did. Absolutely. It's the hunted in Yarrawonga and the hunter in the Raiders.
00:35And yeah, as you said, is it a changing of the guard? Yarrawonga aren't going anywhere, we certainly know that.
00:41But, you know, kudos to Raiders. As we said, they've lost two and they're tough positions to come from.
00:48And I think they've certainly done things differently this year and it's paid off for them.
00:53Absolutely. And retention's key, isn't it?
00:55You keep your core playing group for as long as you can and good things will happen.
01:00Oh, the Raiders, the elation. And it's so nice to see.
01:04I mean, Jodie House, her three daughters out in that A-grade team, they're all involved in the coaching.
01:10And for all three of them to come and just embrace her in amongst all of that, you can just see the jubilation.
01:16And best players, Taylor Donlan. I reckon she's a huge contender for our best on court today.
01:25Yes, it's a tough one too because I thought that probably Hannah Sines did her job for Yarrawonga.
01:30But bulk goals, and as you touched on earlier in the broadcast, she wasn't taken off the court.
01:36And she's really cemented her spot as goal shooter into that Raiders team and was the pillar.
01:41Yeah, she was, yep.
01:43Played a terrific game. I thought Maggie St. John was quite good through the mid court.
01:46Yeah, I thought Maggie was steady.
01:47And Eliza Mooney was fantastic as well in that defensive end.
01:51Absolutely. As Tamara Matthews steps off the broadcast to go into her officiating roles,
01:57we will bring to you some of the remaining few minutes.
02:02The reserves hasn't quite finished yet.
02:05Oh, it has.
