00:00What many call the original Death Valley, Clemson, South Carolina, where the crowd is rocking in anticipation of the showdown we have in store.
00:10Today, a couple of teams getting set to square off in an ACC battle.
00:15As we'll see, the Syracuse Orange taking on the Clemson Tigers.
00:22For EA Sports College Football, I'm Reese Davis, here with David Pollock and Jesse Palmer.
00:26Guys, let's get this thing rolling.
00:30Syracuse will kick off and we'll be underway.
00:53He'll start the return inside his spine.
00:56Nice job by the kickoff team.
00:58Everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the 16.
01:03So Clemson's offense comes onto the field first today.
01:07And Jesse, this offense is built around a guy who could be a generational talent at wide receiver.
01:13This offense is explosive because of that guy.
01:16He can take routine catches and turn them into long touchdowns.
01:20He can take the top off of the defense.
01:23They're going to throw his way early and often in this game.
01:26And I can tell you already, the defensive coordinator is not enjoying his life.
01:30Like, every single play, you better know where he is.
01:34He can wreck a game in one play.
01:36Can hit the home run at any time.
01:38All eyes will be on him.
01:40Behind the chains now on second and long.
01:43On the move.
01:46It's Haynes.
01:47He's going to lose a yard on that one.
01:49It's amazing how play by a defensive end in the backfield can really swing the momentum
01:55not only of a series, but of a game sometimes.
01:59All you're trying to do is create negative plays to get them behind the sticks a little
02:03bit, to get those sacks, to get those tackles for losses.
02:06You see so much stunting in college football up front with the defensive line because you
02:10know once you get one of those plays, you've got the offense right where you want it.
02:14Really nice job to get it past the sticks.
02:17Pick up the first down at the 30.
02:20Yeah, and you've seen these curl routes.
02:22This is a timing route.
02:23Understanding the ball's got to come out of my hand right when he hits the top of that
02:27curl.
02:28Nice job by the QB, finding him.
02:30Nice catch.
02:31Here comes Clemson with another first down.
02:34Power football with the run.
02:36Came through like a shot and knocked him down for a loss of five.
02:40And they tried to run that sweep out route.
02:44I like going to the wide side of the field, getting somebody the ball that can really,
02:48really run.
02:49Just got to block it up a little better.
02:50Give him a chance to at least get that edge.
02:53Then he might be able to do some more damage.
02:55The Tigers with a long way to go after the loss on the last play.
03:00Back to throw.
03:01It's Klubnik.
03:03Quickly to the tight end.
03:05And they get him down.
03:06And that's why QBs love their tight ends so much, right?
03:10Especially when they're athletic, because they make short throws turn into long games.
03:15Because of his ability after the catch, it's so unique and special.
03:18He is dominant in this offense.
03:21And the Tigers come to the line on third and short, trying to keep the drive alive.
03:30Shotgun snap.
03:30Wants to throw it on third.
03:32Got his man down for you.
03:35Going to pick up there as he gets the first down.
03:38And they'll mark him at the 48.
03:40These two guys, just on the same wavelength, they make clutch connections all the time.
03:46And that's practice, man.
03:48That's all summer.
03:49That's all spring.
03:50Just so many hundreds and hundreds and thousands of balls where you know exactly when that guy's going to break.
03:56You know he's a stud.
03:57You're going to feed him, especially on these third down situations.
04:02And he's stopped by that big defensive tackle up front on the play.
04:07I don't think the quarterback made the right read on that play.
04:10I know they're asking a lot of this QBs.
04:12Got a lot to focus on with the pass game and all the different types of runs that they have in their playbook.
04:17But on that play there, that pre-snap look told me to hand it off.
04:23Motion from the wideout.
04:26Going to run it.
04:27It's Haynes.
04:28Man, it's really hard to control the running game if you don't control the line of scrimmage.
04:33And how about the defensive line?
04:34Doing a great job attacking those guys up front.
04:37Not open up lanes to run through.
04:40Nice job just nullifying that run altogether.
04:44Eighth play on this opening drive coming up.
04:46And they need a third down conversion.
04:50From the gun.
04:51Wants to pass.
04:52Unloads to the wideout.
04:53Oh, they really could have used that catch.
04:57Their physical pass defense.
04:59It brings up a fourth down.
05:01It's a nice job by the receiver working past the sticks.
05:04Looked like it was going to be a first down by the offense.
05:06But how about the physical play knocking that ball loose?
05:10Clemson will send the punt team out.
05:12First punt of the day.
05:13And he'd love to lock them up close to their goal line.
05:15Make sure that there's not going to be a return on this one.
05:21Ball's out of bounds.
05:23And I think they'll mark it right around the 25.
05:25So the Syracuse Orange will go on offense for the first time.
05:30They are going to be greeted rather rudely, I guess, by a group of defensive linemen that wreak havoc and hunt down quarterbacks, Jesse.
05:38And they wreck games.
05:40They take away everything you do offensively.
05:41So it's a huge challenge in this one, David, for this offensive coordinator to try to call plays and find ways to get the football away from these big fellas up front.
05:50Because they take games over.
05:53And get the ball out quick.
05:55Like when you've got a defensive line that can penetrate, that can get TFLs, get sacks.
05:59It's going to be on this offensive line to buy a little bit of time.
06:02But also, the ball to come out quick, win in the secondary right now.
06:06And the pass rush is effective.
06:10And they tackle him at the 19.
06:13If you plan to deal with the Tigers, you better be able to handle their defensive front.
06:18They have a whole legacy of this dating back to the fridge, William Carey.
06:22Big old legacy.
06:24And it seems like every year they rotate so many guys that are so highly recruited, so good.
06:29Just great players.
06:31They're always big and strong and fast and physical.
06:34And they get after your quarterback.
06:37Now a lot of work to do to move the chains.
06:39Keep this drive alive after that earlier sack.
06:43Fears to pressure.
06:46Got him in.
06:46It's Rolfe.
06:48He gets across the 25.
06:49Steered out of bounds at the 26.
06:51You know, I've got to tell you, as an offense, moving forward in this game, third and long,
06:56you're going to have to push the ball downfield a little bit more.
06:59You've got to throw to the sticks and give yourself a chance to convert these third downs.
07:12Makes the catch at the 35.
07:15Bottled him up.
07:16Not a whole lot of room to run on that return.
07:18And that's how this period will come to an end.
07:21It's been a defensive battle through the first period, and the stats tell that tale.
07:32Well, based on that, we can hope to see a little more offensive explosion here in the second quarter
07:37as we get ready to get things started.
07:39So they'll go back to work after changing into the field.
07:43Looking downfield, it's Klubnick.
07:45Makes the catch.
07:46He puts him in business across the 50 into the 46-yard line.
07:51It'll be first down.
07:53For a quarterback as highly touted as Kate Klubnick was, I think he would even tell you he started slowly.
07:59But, man, the progression, the improvement has been exponential, Jesse.
08:03It has, Reese, and he's played big in big games as of late.
08:07You think back to last year's ACC championship game, and then I would argue his game against Texas, even in the loss in the playoff,
08:13that might have been his best game of the season, making throw after throw.
08:17You can see why he was so highly recruited.
08:20And if he plays up to that standard week in, week out, Clemson's going to be really tough to beat.
08:24Just outside the red zone, first and ten from the 21.
08:39They'll try the run.
08:40He's going to lose a yard on that one.
08:43You know, the runner just has to have a little bit more patience, bounce that thing outside a little too early,
08:50and as a result, lost yards.
08:54Lost one on that last one.
08:58It's second and 11.
09:02Rides to the back.
09:05He'll be pulled down after a good run.
09:07They'll mark it at the 15.
09:09The Tigers are at the line, looking to convert on third and short.
09:29From the gun, he'll try to throw for it on third down.
09:33Got it in the middle.
09:34It's random.
09:34Defense makes a stop, but the chains move, and it's first and goal from the eighth.
09:41Really nice play call there, because the defense might have been thinking on third and short in the red zone,
09:46they're probably going to run the football instead.
09:48They throw it, catch them off guard, and now they've got first and goal.
09:52Clemson will come to the line with a first and goal.
09:56They'll try to get it in with the run.
09:58They get him on the ground at the three-yard line, but this defense is taking some punches.
10:14Now the offense tries to punch it in on second and goal.
10:17They'll keep it on the ground to the left, stiffing the goal line.
10:24And he's run out of bounds, just short of the goal line, and they keep him out of the end zone for the moment.
10:30And with the stuff there, Jesse, on second down, this little third to mid-range, you've got two downs.
10:36What are you thinking here?
10:37Maybe getting your quarterback out on the perimeter and giving him a run-pass option.
10:41See if you can get the defense in a bind.
10:42Finding it tough to make positive yardage, now third and goal from the two.
10:48The clock winds down to two minutes, and we will take a pause for the two-minute timeout.
10:58The defense snuffed out any attempt to move forward on the last play, and now it's third and goal from the two.
11:08Touchdown Tigers!
11:09Quick strike through the air for the score.
11:12One of the areas they really focused on with this receiver in the offseason was we need you to make more plays for us in the end zone.
11:20When we're taking shots, we need you to be able to step up and make tough catches.
11:24David, what a grab right there.
11:26And I think a lot of that has to do with trusting your guy, knowing where he's going to be, knowing when he's going to sit down, when he's not.
11:32So being on the same page, and then having a guy that can go get it.
11:35Just when the ball is near him, he's going to make the play, just like he did right there for six points.
11:42Getting set for the extra point effort, putting the scoreboard to work for the first time.
11:51And with the extra point, they get the first seven of the game.
11:54So that's a 60-yard touchdown drive.
11:57And it was finished off with a two-yard touchdown toss.
12:00Kickoff unit is out there again, and this crowd is feeling themselves after that last drive.
12:09Here he comes from inside his own five.
12:12Not a lot of space to be found.
12:14Good hustle by the coverage team, and they stop him at the 21.
12:17They'd love to put a long drive together here as they start from their own 21.
12:24Grabbed in the middle.
12:25It's cooked.
12:26Really good job to pick up a chunk of yardage and get it out to the 39-yard line.
12:32Love the play call on the RPO.
12:34That time the defender bites on the run fake, and that opens up the window for the slant coming in behind it.
12:40Nice job.
12:41Big play to start this drive.
12:43Now they'll snap it from the 39.
12:44Wants to go up top on first down.
12:50He's got an open man.
12:53Lots of green grass as he gets it to the 31.
12:57Man, if I'm a defense, I've got to find a way to get some more pressure on the quarterback
13:00or disrupt their timing and their rhythm.
13:03I can't give them these big chunk plays through the air.
13:06I've got to be maybe a little bit more aggressive or do something a little bit different.
13:10After ripping off a big chunk of yardage,
13:13you figure they're going to go right back after him.
13:15First and 10 from the 31.
13:18Looking to throw on first down.
13:20Quickly out to the tight end.
13:22And a good job of coverage by that defense.
13:24Just a short pick up.
13:27I think that time offensively, you're just trying to take what the defense is giving you, right?
13:30They're playing zone coverage.
13:31You've got your big fella just working right over the ball.
13:34It's an easy pitch and catch.
13:35Just take the profit.
13:36Let's keep going.
13:37Got some of the work done on first.
13:40Now let's see what they have on second down.
13:44Caught over the middle.
13:45It's Gill.
13:46They'll spot the ball at the 12 after that completion.
13:51That receiver found the open space in the zone coverage.
13:53And as a defense, honestly, you just throw your hands up on that
13:56because they covered it pretty well.
13:58It was just a good play call and really nice execution.
14:01Syracuse ready to go to work with another first down.
14:07Looking to throw on first down.
14:09Makes to grab.
14:11And he was thinking six, but that D knocks him down at the two.
14:15We've got a timeout here late in the first half,
14:18and they'll try to get more points on the board before the break.
14:21It'll be second down.
14:22And remember, they can pick up a first without scoring.
14:26And off from the shotgun.
14:27And he never had a chance.
14:30Just stopped cold as soon as he got it.
14:33There's a timeout on the field.
14:35Type game here late in the first half.
14:37Not a lot of ground to cover and not much to defend.
14:40A big third down in the red zone.
14:45From the gun.
14:46Wants to pass.
14:48And that's incomplete.
14:50A defender all over him.
14:52Knocked the ball to the ground.
14:53Fourth down coming up.
14:54Well, how about if you're the defense right now?
14:57You've been on the field.
14:58You've given up a lot of yards on this drive.
15:00But if they go for this here on fourth down,
15:03and you come up with one more stop,
15:05that is a huge play.
15:07And that's got to give you some confidence.
15:09And on fourth down, here comes the field goal unit.
15:13This crowd trying to do its part to get inside the kicker's head.
15:18And he missed it.
15:19No good.
15:20But there's a flag on the field.
15:22And I think we're going to get another shot at this.
15:24And the kicker will be a little bit closer this time.
15:28You must protect the kicker when he's in a defenseless position like that.
15:32That penalty's going to give the offense a first down.
15:34And the pressure gets him back at the eight-yard line.
15:44And the defense did a good job stringing that play along.
15:47And you could tell he didn't make a decision quickly
15:50and kept going toward the sideline and pushing, pushing towards his right.
15:53And then the defense caught up, played great D, and got him on the ground.
15:57Running out of time here in the first half.
15:59They're going to have to be efficient to put some points on the board before the break.
16:04Trying to find the end zone.
16:06And he'll run out of bounds just short of the goal.
16:09I wanted to get it in, but couldn't quite get home.
16:13Well, it's a nice job by the receiver getting out of bounds to save some clock.
16:16You're probably out of field goal range.
16:17So you're thinking Hail Mary here at the end of the first half.
16:20And it's third down, but they're taking no chances.
16:23They'll send the field goal unit out before halftime.
16:25The distance is no problem, but this angle from the left can test you.
16:31What a disappointment.
16:32No good.
16:34And they couldn't cut into the lead.
16:36It's still a seven-point game.
16:39And that's just a chip shot.
16:40That's just a field goal they've got to make, guys.
16:43So the offense has done its job.
16:45They have the lead, and they'll secure it as we head to halftime.
16:50And they won't try another play.
16:52Instead, taking a knee, and they'll head to the locker room.
16:56That's the end of the second quarter.
16:57That means it's time to join Kevin in our halftime update.
17:01Thanks, guys.
17:02A first half that saw a little bit of everything there in Death Valley.
17:07And yes, football is a game of inches.
17:10But man, is that really the case when you consider the length of some of these possessions?
17:16Look, I'm not an analytics guy, but I do know this.
17:18The team that sustains, drives, and just moves the sticks might be the team that comes out on top today.
17:26And with that, let's send it back to our guys high above Howard's Rock.
17:31Clemson will kick this deep to get the second half underway.
17:41And he takes this from inside the five.
17:44Didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage, and he'll be stopped at the 17.
17:49The Orange have the ball back and ready to go to work.
17:53After the lack of production in the first half, plenty to talk about.
17:56Let's see what they can dial up here in the third quarter.
17:58Yeah, I think you stay calm.
18:00I think you make adjustments, Jesse.
18:01I think you realize what they're doing to us and how can I attack that.
18:04But you also tell the guys, low-scoring game, still very much in this.
18:08We can still be who we are.
18:09It's a good point.
18:11I think on offense, this is not the time to reinvent the wheel.
18:14I think you stay true to who you are and what your identity is.
18:17And you've got to show confidence in your guys to go out and just execute better here in the second half.
18:23Here's a heat.
18:25Caught in the backfield.
18:26It's Willis.
18:27They make the stop, trying to pick up just a little bit at a time to get to that first down mark.
18:33This defense is going to have to be careful.
18:34Not only do they have to worry about this guy running the football,
18:37but they've got to keep their eye on him when he runs routes, too.
18:40He is a versatile back.
18:42It's getting loud in here, and they may raise the dues on Ipke if they can stop him on third down.
18:52They'll try to pick up the first through the air.
18:56And the pass rush is effective, and they tackle him at the 19th.
19:01And for this quarterback, when you see the walls of the cage start to shake and crumble,
19:06you've got to get out of there, and eventually it collapsed on him.
19:09Well, and especially in third and short, Reese, like pull the ball down and go get me some yards
19:14and maybe get me a first down.
19:15And you've got to have that awareness after a couple seconds in the pocket,
19:19especially on that third and short situation.
19:22Syracuse will send out the punt team.
19:24This will be the second time they've had to kick it away.
19:27He looks it in and makes the fair catch, and they'll have it at the 32.
19:37Clemson ready to dial up some ball plays.
19:39They've got it on offense.
19:43Back to pass.
19:44It's Klutnik.
19:46That's caught.
19:47It's Williams.
19:48That's about as close as you can get to that marker,
19:51and it will be second and just a few breaths away from the first down.
19:56Nice job there.
19:57Good timing between the QB and the wide receiver executing that out route.
20:02The Tigers have their whole playbook open here on second and inches.
20:08Back to pass.
20:10Caught in the backfield.
20:12It's Haynes.
20:13Defense uses the sideline there,
20:15and he gets it into plus territory at the 49.
20:18And that is why you call it a safety valve.
20:22You avoid the quarterback getting hit,
20:24and you also release the pressure that's being applied on the offense.
20:28Defense is going to have to think about this in the future
20:31because you live and die by the blitz.
20:32It's great to try and get extra bodies getting after the quarterback,
20:35but then you risk running backs peeking out of the backfield
20:38and hurting you in the passing game.
20:41You don't have to make things complicated.
20:43You seize zone.
20:44You throw the edge.
20:45You pick up some positive yardage.
20:47Yes, Reece, that's easy when my guy's really fast and quick.
20:50Those guys in the slot get it to them.
20:53After the catches, their specialty can make some magic happen.
20:57And the Tigers with a second and short to keep this drive moving.
21:00The give to the back.
21:02Sweet cut there.
21:04Definitely been tough sledding for this guy,
21:06especially in the first half.
21:08They gave him the ball a bunch,
21:09but they just don't have a ton of yards on the ground
21:11to show for it at this point.
21:13That looked like a pretty good run, though.
21:15And you just wonder maybe in the second half,
21:17if they keep giving him the football,
21:19it may start paying some dividends.
21:22Clemson set up with another first down.
21:25Used to play fake.
21:26Now to throw.
21:28Got it.
21:28Behind the line.
21:29It's Haynes.
21:30And a good job in coverage there.
21:32They stop it after just a few.
21:34They were able to get the ball to the running back in space,
21:38but that space just evaporated.
21:41And a great job by the defense, man.
21:43It's tough to get those guys on the ground.
21:45They're so used to having the football as running backs
21:47and making plays and being dynamic.
21:49So usually one guy not going to get into the ground.
21:52You want many guys swimming to the football
21:54trying to get that elusive guy on the ground.
21:56They make the stop.
21:58Not a whole lot of ground picked up there,
22:00and they'll have work to do to get the first down.
22:03This is no surprise to defenses anymore.
22:06Everybody throws wide receiver screens,
22:08and you could tell they were ready for it.
22:10They saw the quick game.
22:11They pounced on it.
22:12Got the wide receiver on the ground.
22:14That's not the first time they've seen that run.
22:15Trying play action.
22:20Throws to the tight end.
22:22On target over the middle.
22:24Defense is there to make the stop,
22:27but he's got the first down,
22:28and they'll have it first and goal at the six.
22:31Man down on the play as the officials take a break
22:34to let him be checked out.
22:36Let's see what Clemson comes up with on first and goal.
22:39Use the play fake.
22:46Now to throw.
22:48Touchdown, Tiger.
22:49Quick strike through the air for the score.
22:53That dude's really big.
22:55How in the world did they lose him?
22:56Because down here, he does a lot of blocking,
22:58and you put a lot of man coverage in the red zone,
23:01and what do you do?
23:02You peek in the backfield, and you lose the big fella.
23:05I don't know how he lost that big of a guy,
23:07but he lost to us.
23:09They'll try to add another to their lead.
23:28And the extra point makes it 14-0.
23:31A 67-yard touchdown drive there,
23:34and they get it into the end zone with a 6-yard touchdown pass.
23:39Kickoff unit on the field,
23:43and this defense will be called on to protect this lead.
23:49On the move from inside is five.
23:53Didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage,
23:56and he'll be stopped at the 17.
23:58First snap of this drive will come from their own 17.
24:01Looking downfield on first down.
24:06Grabbed behind the line.
24:08It's Willis, and they get him on the ground,
24:11and that'll probably do it for the third quarter.
24:14We've reached the break.
24:15Clemson has the lead,
24:17and they are starting to pull away as we come to the end of the third quarter.
24:21Let's take a look at how we got here.
24:22Just about ready to go in the fourth,
24:31and we'll see if any drama can be mustered.
24:34And a chance to mull things over.
24:36Let's see how they start the final period here on second down.
24:41Off play action.
24:43Got it in the middle.
24:45It's both.
24:45And the explosiveness, the big gainer gets it to the 49-yard line.
24:52Finally, the offense is able to come up with a big play.
24:56Where has that been all game long?
24:58I mean, a goose egg right now on the scoreboard.
25:01You just got to wonder, though, is it just too little too late?
25:04It'll be a first down from the 49-yard line.
25:10To the air on first down.
25:11And that incomplete pass caused by the big hit on first down.
25:17Second down coming.
25:19This Clemson defense has been something across the entire game.
25:24Old school lockdown.
25:26I mean, unbelievable.
25:27Shutting down everything you want to do.
25:29Shutting down the run.
25:30Shutting down the pass.
25:31This defense has been lights out.
25:33We've seen a lot of great defensive performances from the Clemson Tigers.
25:38This is right up there with them.
25:39And the Heat gets home.
25:41And they knock him down back at the 45.
25:44And, man, this defense added again.
25:46They've done this so much today.
25:49Affected the quarterback.
25:50Got in sacks.
25:51Forced third and long situations.
25:53It doesn't matter about the yards on the drive.
25:55Now you've put them in a very predictable passing situation.
25:58The defense all revved up after that earlier sack.
26:09And they'll try to stop them right here.
26:11On third and long.
26:14Hoping to throw beyond the sticks.
26:16And the ball comes out.
26:18What a disastrous play.
26:19But the offense somehow fell on it.
26:22And they'll retain possession.
26:24Woo.
26:24Deep breath, right?
26:25Man, you fumble that thing.
26:26You cough it up.
26:27You're like, oh, I really appreciate you, brother.
26:29I can't tell you how much I thank you.
26:30Because the coaches would have been all over me.
26:32But big time break for the offense.
26:34Down by multiple possessions.
26:44You can't come up empty on this drive.
26:46They'll go for it on fourth down.
26:50He'll try to throw and pick up the first down.
26:53Complete in the middle.
26:55He is stopped short.
26:57And they'll turn it over on downs.
26:59Just a crushing blow at this point in the game.
27:04Looking to pass.
27:06It's Klubnik.
27:08Receiver wasn't ready for the throw.
27:10Incomplete.
27:12Well, the ball has barely touched the ground
27:13every time this guy's been dropping back so far in this game.
27:15That's one of the rare misses we've seen from him so far.
27:23Now inside, four minutes to go here on second down.
27:34Quick completion on the out.
27:36And they pick up just a few on that completion.
27:40I love the anticipation on that throw by the QB on the out route.
27:43You've got to throw it before the receiver comes out of his break.
27:46Nice work.
27:50Third and short from the 49 is this four-down territory.
27:54The option look.
27:59Now the toss.
28:01He'll be stopped at the 44, knocked out of bounds there.
28:05And I like what this offense did.
28:07They run the option.
28:08They're good at it.
28:09They read it.
28:09They run the pitch.
28:10They get some positive yards.
28:12But more importantly, they set up a fourth and really short.
28:15They're successful in these situations most of the time.
28:18So Clemson is lining up to punt this one away.
28:22This will be the second time they've had to kick it away.
28:25Probably hope for a little bit more on that one.
28:28It'll go out of bounds right at the 30-yard line.
28:31The Syracuse offense heads back onto the field.
28:34They've taken a couple of punches to the jaw.
28:36And now they'll try to turn it on.
28:39Got enough for the first down.
28:41He'll be stopped at the 41, but gave him 10 on that play.
28:45One of the things you love about this running back is his physicality.
28:49He's got great size.
28:50And because of that, he can wear defenses down.
28:53Those two, three, and four-yard gains in the first and second quarter,
28:56they become big gains late.
28:58Guys don't want to tackle him, and you're seeing that now.
29:03Pressure coming.
29:05Got out of trouble and throws.
29:07And the physical play there forces the incompletion on first down.
29:12That's your goal.
29:13You know, separate man from ball.
29:15Try to get your shoulder in there on the catch point
29:17and really give him something to think about.
29:20Physically jar that football and knock it out.
29:23Nice job by the defender.
29:25Try to make up for some of that lost ground on second down.
29:29Couldn't connect on first down.
29:31Now back to the air.
29:33This time he's got it.
29:35They'll finally drag him down,
29:36but not before he gets it to the 40, and it's a first down.
29:39Well, this offense has not put their best product on the field today.
29:44They've got no points to show for any of their efforts so far,
29:47but they've still got a chance.
29:49But if it's going to happen,
29:51it has to happen now in this two-minute situation.
29:53This is where their playmakers need to step up.
29:57Fires to the wideout.
29:58Oh, he drops the football.
30:01He had it right down the gut of the field.
30:04Instead, it'll be second down.
30:07Well, the receiver did everything right.
30:08He ran a good route.
30:09He got his head around.
30:10He just didn't finish the play.
30:11Just look it in.
30:14They're dealing with a second and long.
30:21After the incompletion, they go back up top.
30:24Caught behind the line.
30:27It's Willett.
30:29Nice gain of six, leaving them with third and four.
30:33That will take us to the two-minute timeout,
30:35and not much time left for this offense to put together a miracle.
30:42Beneath the shadow of Howard's Rock,
30:45Death Valley is rocking,
30:47trying to help the Tigers on third down.
30:50He's looking to pass.
30:52And they'll miss the connection here on third down.
30:56Well, the quarterback off target on that one.
30:58In this two-minute situation,
31:00you've got to be able to call and run passing plays
31:03that you feel like you can run in your sleep.
31:08Down in the fourth quarter,
31:09it's too late for empty possessions.
31:12They'll go for it on fourth down.
31:16He'll try to throw and pick up the first down.
31:19Finds him out of backfield.
31:20And the completion gives him a fresh set of downs
31:23and keeps this drive moving.
31:26Well, I think the experience on offense
31:28was a big reason why the head coach felt confident
31:30going for it there on fourth down.
31:32He's has a lot of guys that have played a lot of snaps.
31:35They've been in these big game moments before.
31:38Ice in their veins.
31:39You saw it there on that completion
31:41to keep the sticks moving.
31:42And that's kind of what this offense has done all day.
31:51They have struggled.
31:52They just, they haven't gotten a rhythm.
31:54They haven't found a way to get points on the scoreboard.
31:57And late in this game,
31:58when your defense and your team really needed it the most,
32:01they throw the INT.
32:02And it's a microcosm, too,
32:04of just how dominant the defense has been.
32:06They've always been a step ahead.
32:07They've been the more physical side,
32:09and they've been making plays on the back end.
32:11That interception should seal this thing.
32:13They'll snap it from the 20 for the opening play of this drive.
32:22The give is a work on that clock.
32:25That is a big win for this defense
32:27as they were right there as soon as he got the ball.
32:31Quick timeout called by the defense,
32:33stopping the clock to save as much time as possible
32:36for their offense.
32:38After getting knocked back to open this drive,
32:40it's second and 12.
32:43Fires to the big fella.
32:45They stop him almost immediately.
32:47Short game there,
32:48and still a little ground to cover
32:49to pick up the first.
32:51Defense uses a timeout quickly,
32:53trying to get that ball back
32:55and preserve time for their offense.
32:57They'll try to move the chains on third
32:59and short from the 25.
33:02Looking downfield, it's Klubnik.
33:06Good route on the comeback,
33:07and he makes the catch.
33:09He's got enough for the first down,
33:11and that ought to be enough
33:12to put them in victory formation
33:14for the rest of this one.
33:16When you're a playmaker like this guy is,
33:19your coaches are going to dial up plays
33:21intended for you,
33:22especially on third down.
33:23That's what you saw in that last play.
33:25There was no question
33:26where the quarterback was going with that football.
33:28All week long,
33:29they decided,
33:30on the biggest downs of this game,
33:32we're going to target our best player,
33:34and we're going to make sure that he gets looks.
33:36It doesn't matter what the coverage is,
33:37and you saw it right there on that play.
33:39We're going to get Epic,
33:40launched in Big Ten.
33:43We're going to get out of that type Generous
33:44and the FedEx不管 box.
33:44ivobyate.com
33:45We're going to be a game called
33:46Copeland Park,
33:47魔法,
