00:56Ya Ali, yeah, it's a sudden fame, like national fame
01:07but I'm very, like, I'm a simple guy
01:11so I don't think about it so much
01:13the fame and money, it doesn't, like, it doesn't affect me
01:18I'm interested in my work, I'm doing, now I've done music for strings
01:23I'm very happy
01:23Yeah, I've sung a very good number in Fiza

01:28it's called Meri Vatan
01:30then I sang for Kaate, it was Chane Kya Hoga Ramare
01:34that was a big hit, but I didn't get recognition for that song
01:37though my name was there
01:40and after that I was waiting for a big hit like Ya Ali
01:42so it came from Pritam and Raghbasa and Vishesh Films
01:46Yeah, I should thank them because it's a nice production
01:48Yangtze is a sleek production, totally very tight
01:51it's from each and every side, from music, from direction
01:56I've seen the film and it's a masterpiece, I think
01:58No, it's not like that, it's like a journey, like, I think
02:02it's like a journey because music scene is changing globally
02:05so it has affected India also
02:08now the world music is coming, club music is coming, remixes are there
02:13so you have to be very flexible, the singers, otherwise you can survive here
02:19Singing is very natural because I've been singing from my nursery like three years
02:26so I'm not trained in any kind of singing or education or something
02:31but I was a tabla player, I learned tabla for twelve years
02:36then I started playing keyboards and I'm a natural, I think
02:39it comes from my mother, I don't believe in these ten things
02:42like I've waited five, six years in Bombay to get this recognition
02:47to get a good song like Yaali
02:49so I'll always wait and I'll keep experimenting on my projects
02:54so that I can get recognition internationally also
02:57I'll just wait, keep slow

03:29Even he wants to act like, he wants me as an actor also in that film and I'm very, I keep
03:50extending myself.

04:08So I'm into everything, like keeping myself busy.
04:14And I've got some other projects also.
04:16Yeah, I featured in two songs and there are six songs in the film.
04:39And all songs are different, like with different attitude, with different, different culture
04:46and all.
04:47So one song is Aum, that's a big, one of the big poems from Baba Nagarjun, which I transformed
04:53it into a song.
04:55That's I think people will like this song very much.
04:57And the another is, I've done one 600 year old Pratna song from Assam, Assam.
05:03So and this film starts with this song.
05:08So I think people should love it.
05:09I always wanted to be a music director.
05:12Singing is in my blood.
05:13So I'm a natural singer.
05:14I'm not trained singer.
05:15I just sing from my heart and just people like it.
05:19It's like that.
05:20So and I don't want to sing like 100 or 200 songs every year.
05:24I just want to sing 10 good songs with variety and variations.
05:28So I'm very content with my, my singing and my music direction, partly I'm doing everything
05:35like.
05:36Remix, yeah, because I was, I've sung for some big remixes like Dance Masti or Jalwa or even
05:44that one song that Charthi Jawani, that was a big remix hit.
05:52So I've sung for so many remixes productions.
05:55I like remixes, but it should be like, it should be done in a perfect way.
06:03Like, yes, they're the new breed of music directors like Vishal Shekhar, Assam Shankar
06:08Loy and Pritam and all.
06:10They're doing like, they're into experimentation and improvisations.
06:16That's a very nice thing for the singers.
06:18They, they gives freedom, they gives you the freedom to sing from your heart and experiment
06:23with the song.
06:24I always love, I've always loved folk music, world music, and I keep on listening to different
06:30country music, different, different music from different countries.
06:34And I'm a big fan of Nasrat Fateh Ali Khan, so I'm inclined to Sufi music also.
06:37I like this song very much.
06:55Yeah, we've been planning like, with Sanjay Jhaan director, we are planning for some,
06:59another film.
07:00So he wants to, even he wants to act like, he wants me as an actor also in that film.

07:08I like acting also.
07:10I've always acted in three, four SMS films also, and one of my films got national award
07:15last year.
07:16So I was executive producer, music director and actor in that film.
07:19So even I'm making one film in August, September, my script, my direction.
07:23So I'm into everything, like, keep, keep, keep, keeping myself busy.
07:27So, and I've got some, some other projects also, and I'm doing one musical project, very
07:33musical.
07:34It'll be like a documentary and side by side I'll, I'll release the audio also.
07:39It'll be based on Northeast, total Northeast folk music.
07:42So I'm planning for that.
07:43I speak Bengali very well, Assamese, Bengali, Hindi, English, and I want to learn Spanish
07:50and Tamil.
07:52But I've sung in different languages, I've sung in Tamil also, Tamil, Telugu, then Punjabi,
