00:00Breaking the record for the most Grammy wins of all time.
00:04Be outstanding and show your respect.
00:07Welcome to Ms. Mojo.
00:09And today we're counting down our picks for the most groundbreaking award show wins of all time.
00:16Number 10, Owen Cooper.
00:19Netflix's limited series Adolescence scored a number of top prizes at the 2025 Emmys.
00:25And the Emmy goes to Adolescence.
00:30But the most impressive win was Owen Cooper's as he took home the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a limited or anthology series or movie.
00:39Why?
00:40Well, he's only 15 years old.
00:42This makes him the youngest male actor to ever win an Emmy.
00:46You go back to school?
00:47I go back Wednesday, yeah.
00:49Okay, so you just go with your backpack, you go open your locker and you're hanging with your friends.
00:53Yeah.
00:54But this wasn't the only historic win of the night.
00:56Tramiel Tillman became the first black performer to win the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
01:04Thank you to the Academy.
01:05I am full.
01:06I am humbled.
01:06I am honored.
01:07And as my mama would say,
01:09Oh, look at God.
01:11Interestingly, this was the only acting field that had yet to honor a black recipient in the show's 77-year history.
01:19Well done, Mr. Milchick.
01:22Number 9.
01:23Audra McDonald
01:23A Tony Awards darling, McDonald holds a number of incredibly impressive distinguishments.
01:30After being nominated for her work in Gypsy in 2025, McDonald soared past Julie Harris and Chita Rivera to score a record-shattering 11 Tony noms.
01:41With all these nominations under her belt, it's no surprise that she's also the most awarded actor in Tony's history.
01:49From Carousel in 1994 to Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill in 2014, McDonald has racked up six wins.
01:58I want to thank all the shoulders of the strong and brave and courageous women that I am standing on.
02:06But her recognition for the part of Billie Holiday holds an even more fascinating distinction.
02:12It made her the only performer to win top honors in all four acting categories, as a leading and featured actor in both plays and musicals.
02:26Number 8.
02:27Aretha Franklin
02:28The powerhouse vocalist's Grammy feat began on the night of the 1968 show, when she won Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for her massive single, Respect.
02:39All I'm asking is for the respect for you, baby, hey, baby.
02:44Amazingly, she would go on to win this award eight years in a row.
02:48And let the child say.
02:49Other massive tracks to contribute to her incredible run include Chain of Fools in 1969, Bridge Over Troubled Water in 1972, and Master of Eyes in 1974.
03:06In 1976, Franklin was snubbed of the nomination, and Natalie Cole took home the prize instead.
03:13The streak was over, but Franklin would win the category three more times in years to come.
03:19Number 7.
03:21Hattie McDaniel
03:22The Oscars is one of the most prestigious shows running, and Hattie McDaniel broke barriers in 1940, when she won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
03:33My heart is too full to tell you just how I feel.
03:36And may I say thank you, and God bless you.
03:40This made her the first African American to win an Oscar.
03:43Although this performance as Mammy in Gone with the Wind is marred in controversy, her historic victory can't be overlooked.
03:51After earning this important title, McDaniel would take a number of projects that challenged the very foundations of the role she became known for.
03:59She confronted racial issues in 1942's In This Our Life, and became the first Black actor to star in her own radio show in 1945.
04:09I guess my folks decide to have their family in one large economy-sized package.
04:16Number 6.
04:17Wendy Carlos
04:18Kim Petras is known as the first openly trans woman to win a Grammy, with 2023's Unholy.
04:25However, trans woman Wendy Carlos won three Grammys in 1970 for her 1968 album Switched on Bach.
04:33The key difference is, Carlos wasn't completely open about her transition at the time, only revealing this detail publicly in an interview nine years later.
04:41The album was considered groundbreaking for the way it utilized the Moog synthesizer to create electronic renditions of classical compositions.
04:50Make it sit up there.
04:56However, no one fully understood just how groundbreaking Carlos' win was when she grabbed the trophy all those years ago.
05:03Number 5.
05:05Norman Lear
05:05In 2020, Lear earned the Emmy for Outstanding Variety Special, Live.
05:11The recognition came thanks to his involvement in Live in Front of a Studio Audience, All in the Family and Good Times.
05:18Couldn't be more grateful to all of you, ABC, and to my partner, Brent Miller.
05:23In the TV special, Lear appears as the host to facilitate the live performances of two of his greatest works.
05:30And ain't nothing wrong with that, but you're moving on it.
05:34What makes this win so extraordinary is that he achieved it at 98 years old.
05:39This made him the oldest person ever to win an Emmy, beating out his own record set the year prior.
05:46The first installment of Live in Front of a Studio Audience won the category that year, too, featuring a segment of The Jeffersons.
05:58All we could afford was you.
06:00Number 4.
06:01Beyoncé
06:01Who's the most decorated Grammy artist of all time?
06:05Say my name, say my name.
06:07It's Beyoncé, duh.
06:09Queen Bey has 99 total nominations at the prestigious event, and in 2023, she broke George Sulte's record number of trophies.
06:18When Renaissance scored a win for Best Dance Slash Electronic Album in 2023, Beyoncé secured her 32nd Grammy.
06:26God bless you.
06:27Thank you so much to the Grammys.
06:29A number of singles from the record were honored as well, and in 2025, the artist's Cowboy Carter wins brought her Grammy Award total to 35.
06:39Her first Grammys were awarded in 2001 for Say My Name, a true testament to her staying power.
06:46Say my name, say my name.
06:48Number 3.
06:49Walt Disney
06:50When it comes to the Oscars, Dennis Murin currently holds the title for the most awards accrued by a living person.
06:57However, his total of 9 doesn't even come close to the late and great Walt Disney.
07:02The Pioneer has garnered 22 total awards, not to mention 59 nominations.
07:07Many men play a part in creating these effects, and it is for them that I accept this award.
07:14Ready for some quick Disney history?
07:16Way back at the Fifth Academy Awards, Walt's Animation Flowers and Trees won for Best Short Subject Cartoon, his first Oscar.
07:25Interestingly, most of his wins were for animated shorts, with a number of nature documentaries sprinkled in.
07:32Walt's final award was given in 1968, two years after his death, for Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day.
07:38My very dear friend, Biglet.
07:42Number 2.
07:43Whitney Houston
07:44Since we're down to the final entries, it just feels right to honor the two most awarded stars of all time.
07:51First, Whitney Houston, who holds the Guinness World Record for Most Awarded Female Artist in History.
07:57Throughout her career, she has racked up over 400 wins.
08:01To the American public for voting for me, I love you, God bless you, and thank you, I appreciate it.
08:06Contributing to this staggering accomplishment are six Grammy Awards, 22 American Music Awards, and 23 Billboard Music Awards.
08:15Some of Houston's titles include Album of the Year, Best Female Video, and Entertainer of the Year.
08:21Whitney, we will always love you.

08:44Number 1.
08:46Michael Jackson
08:46It should come as no surprise that the King of Pop holds the record for Most Awarded Male Artist of All Time.
08:53Get ready for this.
08:54He has over 800 wins.
08:57Jackson's most decorated album, Thriller, won a record-breaking eight Grammys in 1984, the most ever in a single night.
09:05I made a deal with myself, if I win one more award, which is this award, which is seven, which is a record, I would take off my glasses.
09:12He's also the most awarded performer in AMA history, with 26 wins.
09:19Jackson holds 39 Guinness World Records for his illustrious career, which earned him the title of Most Successful Music Entertainer of All Time in 2006.
09:31Which of these historic wins made you tear up?
