00:11who said officers were being, quote-unquote, punched, kicked, spat at, driven at and stabbed,
00:18and deserve the backing of their chief officers.
00:23In reference to this so-called Al Capone approach being taken by London's police force, the association added that
00:32comparing colleagues to American gangsters made the work of officers in the capital harder.
00:40The clearance was initially sparked in the wake of the murder of Sarah Everard by a serving police officer
00:50and is the largest in the force's history.
00:53Figures show that 1,442 staff officers were sacked or resigned or retired between 2022 and June of this year.
01:03Investigators are examining the number of grievances lodged against different squads,
01:10along with data including the number of sick days taken and whether the amount of overtime is justified.
01:20As we've been reporting earlier this month, nine officers based at Charing Cross Station
01:28were suspended amid investigation into excessive use of force and another two removed from frontline duty.
01:36The entire custody team at that police station is being disbanded as the police inquiry continues.
